Beauty Sage March 2014 Sample Box Review

Previously I had never purchased a Beauty Sage Editor's Choice Sample box before so this was my first ever box experience with them.

About Beauty Sage: BeautySage is an online store selling only beauty and wellness products proven to deliver on their claims.

The Cost: $15 + shipping (I didn't pay for shipping this time because there was a free shipping promotion)

What You'll Get:  A deluxe sample box packed with our editors’ product obsessions for the month of March.

In the box:

My first impressions were mainly regarding how TINY the samples were.  They specifically say DELUXE sample box and these were not what I consider deluxe.
It does include a card which describes each item and also provides a 10% off code for use within 30 days.
African Botanicals Pure Marula Oil- This natural, lightweight facial oil hydrates, brightens and repairs skin.
Full size value $80
Included size: .17oz (TINY)

GoldFaden MD Hands to Heart: Brightening hand treatment- a rich yet fast absorbing cream that works on the appearance of dark spots and reduces appearance of fine lines.  It smells AMAZING!
Full Size Value: $38
Included size: 3g

One Love Organics Youth Springs Eternal Youth Preservation Serum: An organic, anti-aging serum with exfoliating watermelon seed oil, toning and moisturizing Bulgarian rose oil, and D'Orientine S.
Full Size Value: $59
Included Size: .15oz (TINY)

Now I won't lie, I was skeptical of this One Love's ability to exfoliate with oil.  So I looked it up and apparently its the fruit acids which are considered the exfoliator.  D'Orientine S. is a trademark name for the formula of Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (and) Phoenix Dactylifera (Date) Seed Extract.  Since it is listed as the second ingredient in this Youth Serum, it probably is at a high enough concentrate to do some actual good (2.5%).

Next up:
skyn ICELAND Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels- to firm, tone, and de-puff the delicate under eye in ten minutes
Full Size Value: $30
Included Size: 1 pair of eyegels

TenoverTen Houston Nail Polish- a '3-free' nail laquer in sheer nude
Full Size Value: $18
Included Size: FULL SIZE

Verdict: I do like the variety of products in this box.  The samples are high quality and I will try everything except the polish (nude isn't my color).  I am disappointed, however, in the sizes that were sent.  The Youth Serum and the Marula oil samples are so small that they are basically foils.  I do not consider those to be deluxe samples.
In short, I do not think that I would purchase this box again unless the full size item was something I desperately wanted.  I'm glad I only paid $15 for this.  I know value is in the eye of the beholder (or in this case, the sample user!) but in reality these things are only worth what you are willing to pay for them.  That is something you should always consider when purchasing a sample box.  It doesn't matter how amazing of a "deal" it is, it still isn't a deal if you don't like the products.
