My Paula's Choice Haul May 2014

One of my favorite skincare brands that I discovered through my sample boxes is Paula's Choice.  At first the name put me off, I admit.  Then I used her product.  I loved it.  Used another.  Hooked!

Now, most of my regular routine consists of Paula's Choice.  I do incorporate my samples so it's not 100% but my skin is looking much better.  My especial favorites are her serums.  They are packed with antioxidants, non-greasy and there are several versions based on your skin type.

This last week there was a free gift with a $50 purchase and I couldn't resist.  I'd been looking at a few things and decided now was the time to buy!
Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum- This has retinol in it which is why I got it.  I'm 36 and I want to keep my skin looking wrinkle free!  It's not wrinkle free right now because really there is no stopping the aging process (I've come to terms with this, I think) but I want to slow it down as much as possible.

Paula's Choice RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum-  This is the serum I tested and that got me hooked.  Now that my sample was empty, I needed more.  This might be my favorite of her serums because it really does go on as light as air.  I previously got a heavier serum for my cheeks which can be dry but this one is hands down my favorite.  It is also super moisturizing because it has hyaluronic acid in it.
*UPDATE*
Nearly a year later and I'm still in love with this product.  I prefer it over the Skin Balancing one because this is so incredibly light.  I can use it in the summer with zero issues of oiliness and it sinks in so perfectly.  This is something I will use for the rest of my life.  It is hands down one of my favorite products ever.

Both of these are for Normal, Oily and Combination Skin.  If you have oily skin I really recommend the Ultra Light serum.  I *hate* feeling greasy through my T-zone and I hate it when products make me feel greasy (even if its not a greasy product and doesn't have oil in it) and this is the pinnacle of perfection in my opinion.  No, no one paid me to say that! It's just not very often that I find something I love this much.  I have Birchbox to thank for that first sample.
Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Enriched Calming Toner- These were my free samples that I chose at checkout.  I previously got these and I like them so I just got more.  Sometimes my cheeks get so dry and red, especially during the winter, that I like to have these around.

Paula's Choice Clinical Instant Calm Advanced Redness Relief-  This is supposed to reduce redness and calm sensitive skin.  It's also good for rosacea.  This is totally new to me so we will see how it works.  I feel like I have red cheeks all the time.  I don't know if its just because they are dry or what.  They've actually been a LOT better since I started a regular skincare routine but I want it to be completely gone.  This stuff gets rave reviews on the website so I figured I'd give it a whirl.
*UPDATE*
I am still using this product nearly a year later.  It really does calm the redness in my face so much so that when applied to only one side and not the other, the difference is noticeable.  The effects are not permanent, of course, and do wear off but I find that this is a valuable product to me because of it's efficacy.
Now the fun part!  The free gift was a four pack of Paula's Choice Liquid Lipsticks!  I've never used any of her make up products (and honestly, I probably won't ever) but I will be using her lipsticks!

I love all the colors and I think I may give away a few just because its a lot of lipstick.  The problem is that I look at them and I want all the colors for myself.  I love pinks.  I'll have to narrow it down though because my lipstick/gloss collection is getting out of hand.

If you want to try Paula's Choice, you can use my referral link and get $10 off your order.  Any order.  I am almost positive no minimum purchase is required.  I used on my first time and I'm pretty sure I only paid shipping plus $2 for whatever the product was that I got.  I think that was a retinol serum too.  Her prices are reasonable, the quality of her ingredients is good and shes very transparent about what's in each product.  Her website contains a wealth of knowledge about skincare and you can search for items for your skintype or your skin issue or even the kind of ingredient you are looking for.  I really like it.
