If you've never received an Ipsy bag, this is what it comes in. A very shiny, very pink bubble mailer. I love that Ipsy does this. I think they might be the only company that goes this crazy on the outer packaging.
The Cost: $10/month
What You Get: Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products.
Purlisse SPF 30 Sunscreen- I have never seen so much Purlisse sunscreen in my life. This stuff is outrageously expensive and yet it is in every subscription box on earth! What's even worse is that I haven't even tried any of them! I'll open this one right now and see what I think... It smells like sunscreen. Just plain sunscreen not the yummy kind that smells like coconut and makes you drool. It's moisturizing but there is a hint of drag from stickiness but it's not bad at all. This is decent and I should be using it. Especially with all the weed pulling I've been doing.
Pop Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer in Secret Sunshine- I already have a bronzer that I love but this looks like it might be a pretty good color too. I'll have to compare them and see what I think.
VERDICT: While this wasn't my favorite Ipsy bag ever, I do love the bareMinerals cream eyeshadow and the Ginger/Citrus lotion. Tints & Sass will be used, though probably sparingly and I'm hoping the bronzer works out for me. For $10 this was SO worth it! The bareMinerals eyeshadow is worth more than the cost of the bag by itself! Oh, and I adore the neon pink bag, too.
I like Ipsy because even if I get things I don't want or like, it's still an opportunity to try things and not feel like I'm throwing my money away if I hate the item. Ipsy is also the most make up oriented of all my boxes and at $10, I'll probably keep it for a long time!
If you would like to sign up for Ipsy I suggest doing it now, rather than waiting. When you make your account, you don't pay right away, you get put on a waitlist. When you get off the waitlist they will send you an email and you can decide if you want to sign up and pay or not.
There are some ways to get off the waitlist and it involves Facebook:
"Click “Skip the Wait” from your ipsy account which will prompt you to share to and like on Facebook as well as subscribe to our YouTube channels. If you don’t see that option, click "My Account" and connect your Facebook first. Once a friend subscribes from your Facebook link, you'll be moved from the Waitlist."
What I did was I signed up, liked and shared on Facebook, then clicked my own link in the Facebook share post and signed up with a different email address. So that got my first email off the waitlist immediately. That second account didn't get off for two months but I just cancelled when they sent the email saying I got off because I only want one bag.
That's my tip for getting off the waitlist, anyway! If you do all that now (and if it works), you'll get next months Ipsy bag.

I enjoyed your review! I agree about the bag this month, it's a little stinky. My bag is almost completely different, except for the lip and cheek stain - which I will in no way be attempting to put on my cheeks, lol!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my review of the July Ipsy Bag:

Okay so I tried it on my cheeks and it's really subtle but it's not very.... maneuverable? I can't think of the word I want. I was expecting to look clown like but it really just made it slightly pink. I don't think I would actually ever use it for blush, though. I like my powder.
DeleteI tried out the Elizabeth Mott on my cheeks today, & all I did was apply a drop (literally, just one drop) onto the apple of my cheeks & then blended up with my finger. It blended right in & gave my cheeks a very slight rosy look, so I imagine you'd just repeat the process if you wanted it to look more intense.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so this is what I did and you are right. It's a nice color and not what I was expecting. I tried blending it but I couldn't get it even. That's probably my makeup newbie-ness showing, though :D I'm glad that it's not a red and is a nice pinky magenta.
DeleteThe bareminerals eyeshadow seems really nice. Overall I like your bag a lot!
