Love With Food July 2014 Happy Camper

Love with Food for July 2014 showed up today!  They come from so far away (Georgia) that I kind of just give up on the tracking since they are MIA for so long before they hit my state (WA).  I had not gone spoiler free for this box but that doesn't mean I wasn't happy to see it!!

Love With Food is hands down my absolute favorite food subscription box.  None of the others (especially the sweets boxes) come close to the variety and awesomeness of Love With Food.
They always have a theme, too.  It's usually a pretty loose association though.  This month's is "Happy Camper" but with the kind of things they sent, I don't think I would have chosen that particular one.

The Cost: $12/month (includes shipping)

What You Get: 8+ new snacks each month.  Snacks are either organic or all-natural, GMO-free, gluten-free or free of artificial junk.

They also are just starting with a new Gluten-Free box that is $25.  I think the first month for that might be August.  It doesn't seem to have launched on their website yet.

GinnyMinis Butter Crisp Love-  I'm not sure how these are supposed to come but mine had no air in the package like there was a hole and it all leaked out.  They didn't taste stale (I don't think...?) but shortbread isn't my favorite kind of cookie.  My mom used to make shortbread cookies when I was little and I hated them then, too.  The raw dough was pretty good, though.

Zouq Curry Crunch Sweet and Sour Trail Mix- So I hate curry, too.  And quite frankly, Sweet and Sour curry sounds even more horrifying than curry by itself.  I gave these to my husband.  He hasn't tried them yet.

Somersaults Dutch Cocoa- These are made out of sunflower seeds!  I've had these before and many of their other flavors.  Dutch Cocoa is actually my least favorite flavor.  My first favorite is Black Pepper, they are so savory and delicious!  My second favorite is Cinnamon Crunch.  They aren't super sweet but they are very cinnamony and I like them.  My husband will eat the whole bag if I leave it near him.

Madyson's Marshmallows- WOW!  This was amazing! So so irresistable.  It's soft and smooth and vanilla-y tasting and then, toward the middle, there are surprise chocolate chips!  I die.  They are so good.  I can't imagine eating marshmallows all the time but this was a wonderful treat.
Beanitos Puffs in White Cheddar- These are touted to have a pile of protein but I'll tell you right now, protein powder is quicker and easier.  And really... Better tasting, as well.  These were horrible! :D  What a weird and awful taste that is!  Blech!  The aftertaste is killer gross, too.

Mediterranean Snacks Lentil Crackers in Sea Salt- This package was flat as a pancake and I thought for sure they'd be dust.  They weren't but after my first taste, I wouldn't have minded if they were.  Yuck.  Apparently I'm not a very adventurous eater.  I feel bad for hating these and the Beanitos!

2 Degrees Apple Pecan- Packed with fruit, grains and other tastiness (like pecans), this is an all natural snack perfect on the go.  You are getting the full gamut of my food hates today.  I hate Beanitos, lentil chips, curry, shortbread aaaand... pecans!  I think the only thing left on my hate list is egg whites and onions!  :D  I gave this to my husband and he said it was fantastic.  So there you go.

Honey Stinger Kids Organic Mixed Berry Chews-  Yay!!  These were good!  Tasty!  Sweet and a little sour.  I liked them and ate them all.  I deserved them after my box disappointments so far. Hah!

VERDICT:  This was not the box for me, obviously.  But here's the thing I love about Love With Food.  There are SO MANY products included that you are bound to have at least one thing you like!  I had two loves and one like in this box.  The Beanitos and lentil crackers met the garbage can but the rest went to hubby.  He is less... discriminating than I am. :)

While this box was not the best box I've ever had, I still highly recommend them!  It's $12 a month (or less with a longer subscription).
If you would like to sign up, get your first box free with this link!! I think you might have to pay shipping of $2 but I'm not positive.

*referral links were used in the making of this post, thank you in advance if you choose to use them!

  1. Happy Camper as in summer camp? When I think of summer camp snacks I think of neon orange "juice" served in paper cups and stale Lorna Doone cookies, haha.

    1. It was not the theme I would have picked but it's always a pretty loose association! None of these make me think of summer camp. We might have gone to the same camp ;) Ah, memories!
