Fab Fit Fun VIP Fall 2014 Box Review and $10 off Coupon Code!

The Fabfitfun VIP Fall 2014 box arrived today just as I was leaving.  This meant that I had to wait until I got back to snatch it off  my porch, run into the house and dig in.
Fabfitfun VIP is a lifestyle subscription box.  It's not a box of samples, it's a box full of fun products dedicated to different areas of your life.  So there's a little beauty, a little home, some snacks and whatever else they find that is interesting and will fit in a box.
It used to be curated by Guliana Rancic but I think that partnership ended.  I don't know who is curating it now but whoever they are, they have some great ideas.

The Cost: $49.99/quarterly

What You Get:  Over $200 in full size, premium products in  Beauty, Wellness, Fitness and Fashion categories.

Stick in a Box Beef Jerky September 2014 Review Plus $20 off Coupon!

Enter Stick in a Box, the subscription box to end all your cravings and suck you into a vortex of complete and utter awesome.  Yes, it's beef jerky.  But it's not beef jerky like you're thinking.  This is RIDICULOUSLY amazing beef jerky.
Oh, right.  The box.  Yes, it's a subscription box.  And inside is the next best thing to heaven for a carnivore.  Or omnivore.  This is the September 2014 Stick in a Box.
Stick in a Box sends beef jerky packages right to your door.  They find small batch, fun and interesting jerkys, along with some big name brands tested for beefy goodness.  You'll get at least three bags of jerky in each box plus as many sticks and slabs as can fit without the box exploding.  This box was kindly provided to me by Stick in a Box for review purposes.

The Cost; $35/monthly to $25/mo with a year sub.

What You Get: At least 3 bags of jerky plus sticks and slabs from both name brands, and small batch companies, in traditional and out of this world flavors.

Candy Japan Subscription Box Review August 2014

This is the Candy Japan August 2014 second shipment review!  I was so happy to see it in my mailbox, too.  I've been thinking it got lost!

I first discovered Candy Japan when I was looking for a fun subscription to send to my friend Marjolein.  I needed a subscription that could ship anywhere in the world because she lives in the Netherlands.  And since she is a fellow Memebox fanatic and loves K-dramas and probably listens to J-Pop, I figured this would be something fun and interesting to send to her.

Candy Japan is actually really easy to gift which is great.  You can just choose how many months you want, enter in all the information and in a month, that person will receive their goodies.  It does take awhile to get to where it's going, I admit.  This particular box was sent to me for review and took 28 days to arrive in the US from Japan.  Still, it's a LOT of fun as you will see!

The Cost: $25/month

What You Get: Two shipments a month, shipped two weeks apart, packed with interesting, unusual and adventurous Japanese candies and snacks.  Ships Internationally.

Time to put some Bits in the Boxes!

BLOG
Hooray for random pet photos!  I love Dexter.

You've probably noticed my header has improved.  It's not exactly what I want but for now it works and is way better than one created by me in MSPaint.  Ten thousand times better.  I don't think I've used Paint since I was in high school when we had to learn about it in computer class.
Or not.
Because I think we used Apple computers back then.  Back before the internet was as necessary as air.  At least I can say it was the nineties!

I've also had the hardest time figuring out Google+!  I don't know what my problem is but I've been trying to make my posts available via a page connected to my account on Google+.  Then I hear about this thing called Google Friend Connect.
If someone is brilliant and has Google figured out, email me or comment or something and tell me what I should be doing with it!

Memebox Giveaway September 2014! Your Choice of Wine and Cheese Cosmetics OR Super Luckybox #11!!

It's Memebox Giveaway Time!

OPEN INTERNATIONALLY WHERE MEMEBOX SHIPS!

Memebox (pronounced me me box) is a great way to get new and interesting Korean skincare and beauty products.  This is not a subscription box, you can buy as many as you choose and you will know the general theme surrounding the box.  You won't know what's in it until you get it, though!

Memebox sends you the most trusted, best-loved Korean beauty products in each of their boxes. Korean skincare products are renowned for their quality and innovative technologies.  So you are getting the cutting edge of skincare delivered to your door.  I've been really happy with what I've received so far.

There are three kinds of boxes:

Memebox
The original Memebox comes packed with 4 - 8 full sized products and deluxe samples, carefully curated from Korea to give you the best experience and widest exposure to a range of products.

Superbox
Superbox was inspired by Memebox lovers, looking for full-sized products catered to specific needs. Each Superbox series comes with it's own theme, designed to target particular concerns.

Luckybox
Luckybox was created to bring back the most popular items selected from previously sold-out Memeboxes, all combined in one wonderful collection. Each Luckybox contains a selection of products from past Memeboxes, and occasionally will include a new favorite.

Today's Giveaway is for ONE of two Memeboxes!
The winner will get to CHOOSE which box they would like to receive!
*This giveaway is sponsored by Bits and Boxes.  Memebox will be mailing the winner's box for me.*

September - Summer's End
You can find the deal under Chicago, here is the link for it.

If you don't have a Gilt City account, you can make one here.  If you've never used Gilt City before and use my referral link to make an account you will get 25% off your first purchase.  Which will make this deal EVEN BETTER!  Might as well get a year at that point.

If you already have a Gilt City account but haven't made a purchase, you can use code WELCOME20 to get 20% off your first purchase!

You will also get 3% cashback from Ebates on Gilt City so don't forget to activate that.
If you want to sign up for Ebates and get cashback on purchases you'd already make, you can sign up for that here.  I actually recommend it if you are a frequent online shopper.  I thought it was a scam but its totally not at all, it's for real.  And I'm the most skeptical person in the universe so it's saying something if I'm willing to use it.

If you are an aspiring subscription box addict I recommend having a Gilt City account because they do have great deals on all different kinds of boxes.

Memebox Yogurt Cosmetics Spoilers! One is Holika Holika!

So I know I've had a bunch of Memebox posts and I'm sorry!  But I couldn't resist these Memebox Yogurt Cosmetics spoilers!  Especially because this box is still available AND I'm getting it.

The Cost: $23 plus shipping

What You Get: The original Memebox comes packed with 4 - 8 full-sized products and deluxe samples.

Here's what Memebox says about this box:

Yogurt used as part of a beauty regimen dates back to ancient Egypt, when Cleopatra used it as a part of her daily beauty routine to maintain her youth. It contains lactic acid to dissolve dead skin cells that accumulate into the pores! Also, proteins, calcium, and vitamins prevent premature aging, brighten skin, and give the skin a naturally youthful glow!

I got this box because I missed out on the Milk box.  I was super bummed I missed the donkey's milk steam cream and am hoping for something just as interesting and crazy in this box.

What I was not expecting was something cute!  Here's the two spoilers for this Yogurt Cosmetics box:

Popsugar September 2014 Box Reveal and $15 off!! Two Days Only!

 popsugar september 2014 coupon code

Wow!!  Get $15 off the September 2014 Popsugar box with code SEPT15!  Now that is a fantastic deal!  Usually the coupons are worth $10 but this is $15!

ONLY TWO DAYS!

Sign up for Popsugar now and use SEPT15 to get the contents of the box shown above for only $24.95!  Considering the scarf is worth $125 and there's a $20 Nike gift certificate in the box, this is kind of unreal.

Oh, and don't forget about the $22 Oribe Superfine Hairspray (which I love!).

I'm resisting a second box.  Even though the Nike gift cards DO stack... Hmm...

Memebox Meme's Pouch Review + Coupon Codes

I've been sitting on this Meme's Pouch box for a couple days.  Not literally but sort of looking at it and wondering.  Wondering what I thought of it, I guess.  First, I was expecting an actual pouch or makeup bag.  Especially with the name of the box.  There isn't one.  That's not a deal breaker, I suppose.

Memebox Meme's Pouch was $23 plus shipping and is currently sold out.  I purchased this as part of a set with Memebox Special Moisture Surge (which I loved).  I used a code and Memepoints but the box still came out to $20.
The box has six items in it.  Three body products and three makeup items.  There's only one thing in this box that I'm totally in love with.  The other five are (for me) kinda meh.

From the Lab September 2014 Review and International Giveaway!

From the Lab is a very unique subscription box.  It is also one of my favorites.  If you are looking for high quality, safe and good-for-you beauty products, From the Lab has got you covered.

One of the reasons From the Lab is so wonderful is that every product they send is free of phlalates, parabens, sodium laurel sulfates, mineral oils and they never, ever use products tested on animals OR that contain any substance of animal origin.  So you can use any of their products completely guilt and worry free!

The Cost: $29.95/month, shipping is free

What you Get: One to three full size luxury beauty products delivered to your door each month. These products are estimated to be worth at least $100 on the retail market but you will get them before they are even available for purchase anywhere else.

Memebox Moisture Surge Review- Mists, Masks and Moisturizers!

 Memebox Review
I know I always say this about all my Memeboxes (not that it isn't true) but I could hardly wait for this particular Memebox to get here.  When I saw Memebox Moisture Surge up for sale, I snagged it immediately.  I wanted mists, moisturizers and masks (oh, my!) and I am so happy to have gotten them ALL!

This box was $23 and is currently sold out.  You never know when they might do a restock, though.

Here's the Memeblurb about Moisture Surge:

Dry, flaky skin sucks almost as much as breakouts and oily skin! Whether you're dealing with an all-over moisture problem or battling just a few annoying dry patches, this Moisture Surge Box will cure all, even during the harshest fall and winter months! This box will lock in moisture for a dewy and supple complexion , and fortify the skin's moisture barrier for all day hydration!

Glossybox 20% off Coupon Code!

 glossybox coupon code
Glossybox is offering 20% off of its subscriptions 3 months and longer!  It's good for only three days so make your decisions quickly!

Use code FALL14 to take advantage of this deal.

See September Glossybox Spoilers here:  Full September Box Reveal

This deal will start your subscription with the September 2014 box.

Sign up at Glossybox to get this deal!  It's a great one.  I've seen this once before and I got it.  I'm still on that sub, though so I don't need this one.

Memebox Wake Up Makeup Review and Coupon Code

This Memebox is Wake Up Makeup!  I got it as part of a Value Set with the Honey Box. The Wake Up Makeup box came with a bonus item that is not included on the info card.  I'm including it in this review, though.  It's a great bonus and worth the price of the box.

This Wake Up Makeup Memebox cost $23 plus shipping.  Since this was a value set I got upgraded Express Shipping which is why I have this box so soon.  I'm not complaining.  Value Sets are the way to go.  I used Memepoints and coupons on this box and it was $15.
I'm actually really happy with this Memebox.  I normally avoid the makeup Memeboxes like the plague.  I just don't like Korean makeup.  Plus I don't think Memebox actually sends quality makeup.  I'm not saying it's all bad. I'm just saying I'm not 12 years old and I don't tend to go for cuteness in my makeup packaging.  I don't have room for cute and I'm an old lady now.  Okay, not really but I felt old today while getting grumpy at dumb teenages clogging the intersection when the high school got out today.

The makeup in this box is actually quite usable.  None of it is orange and includes practical, easy to use products.
Bbia Downy Cheek-3.5g- This is an ultra-blendable creamy blush for a natural flush of color.  It blends with no texture and is completely weightless.  It can be worn over or under powder to highlight your cheeks.
This comes in two colors: Downy Pink and Downy Peach.  I received Downy Pink.
While it looks extremely pink (like blush tends to do) it actually is a very pretty color and does blend well.  I'm not super into cream blushes and prefer the mineral powders (like the one I got in this Kloverbox) but there's nothing wrong with this one.

Shara Shara Glitter Pearl Powder in Pink Romance-2.2g- This is super cute!  I had to rip open the packaging to get it out so I'm sorry I don't have a good photo of the packaging.  This is looks like a nail polish container but it's not!  It's a foam applicator for applying this purpley pink glittery pearl powder.  There are three color variations: Pink Romance, Bronze Gold and Champagne Gold.  I would have been happy with any of the colors.
This is super sparkly at all angles, goes on ridiculously smooth and it says it can be used as a highlighter, too.  I don't think I would do that and keep it confined to my eyelids.
Royal Nature The Original Soothing Blemish Balm SPF 30 PA++- This is a gentle, soothing formula enriched with calendula extracts, chamomile extracts, cypress essential oil, portulacea extracts, and Royal Nature's special "Angel's Tears" complex. It's chemical free and will relieve and brighten your skin.  Blemish Balm is the long name for BB cream!
I haven't opened this yet because I'm still using up my Hansui one that I love.  So, I can't attest to the color or the application.  I am excited to try this because I tend to get reddened skin when it's dry out and I'd love to mitigate that somehow.  If chamomile and calendula can do it, I'll be happy.
It's Skin Babyface Young Girl Gel Eyeliner and Pencil-  I am so happy I got the black and purple version!  There's also a black and brown version but purple is so much more fun!  This is very creamy and pigmented and I'm very happy with it.  I think it's a great touch to add the eyeliner brush, as well.
I saw somewhere that someone was worried about the date on the package.  The date is the manufacture date, it's not expired.  I admit I prefer another eyeliner brush that I have (Memebox brand brush, actually) over this one.  I think they prooobably could have chosen a better name for this but that's just me.
Shara Shara Creamy Dual Auto Eye Stick-1.4g- This creamy dual auto eye stick simplifies eye makeup by combining an eyeliner and eyeshadow into one double ended stick.  There are four possible colors: Shine Gold Khaki, Holly Pink Brown, Celeb Burgundy, and Glam Brownie.  I got Celeb Burgundy.
The two shades are curated to be applied together harmoniously.  The creamy texture is gentle and has a pearly sheen to add glam.
I haven't opened this in preparation to swap.  I just won't use it so I think I'm going to swap it to someone who will love and use it.

Cheek Room Lip Gloss- This is a dual lip gloss liquid lip color with intense long lasting hold of a lip stin and eye catching shine of a gloss.  It's formulated so that the stain locks color on the lips for a waterproof, smudge-proof result that won't transfer or fade.
I'm not sure about this.  I know people are down on Cheek Room but I have avoided makeup boxes so I don't have a lot of Cheek Room makeup.  This just seems weird to me.  If you look at the picture, there's a crack or a line in the bottom half (in the tan part).  Why is it like that?  Is it dried out?  I like the pink color but I'm weirding out about how the whole thing looks.
Cellbydate The Galacto Zero Essence-100ml- This uses galactomyces ferment filtrate which is great for sensitive or acne prone skin.  It is very gentle.  It also helps with redness and moisturizing.  It also contains skin-active elements- vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
This compares with the very expensive SK-II Pitera Essence.  It contains the same main ingredient (galactomyces ferment filtrate) as the SK-II brand does.
I might think this is the best thing in the box and its the bonus item!  But I love skincare so that's not surprising.  I'm loving this.  And it's a huge bottle, too.  It has no parabens, artificial colorings, preservatives, alcohol or fragrance.

VERDICT:  I'm actually happy with this box.  I normally avoid makeup boxes but if I was to get a makeup box, this one makes me happy.  Of course, this box is really made by the Cellbydate Essence.  I can't really complain because the makeup is NOT orange and is decently usable and I didn't pay full price.
Really, it probably wouldn't be worth full price except for the bonus item which has a value of $12.  So, I don't know.  I'm probably a bad judge because I don't normally go for the makeup anyway.

What do you think?

I should let you know that there are new Memeboxes up for sale!  Dry and Sensitive Skin, My Cute Wishlist 4, OMG4 and K-Style 4.

Memebox x CutiePieMarzia 2 is also going on sale this week so keep your eye open!

See all the goodies available at Memebox here!  If you choose to get something make sure you use the code WXJV to get $5 off your purchase!  If you use any link on this page you will also get an extra $5 off any order over $100 (and $10 off any order over $!50).  Please check my Memebox Deals page to find all the good deals, too.  I'm a big fan of saving as much money as possible.

Allure Sample Society October 2014 Spoiler #2 and Coupon Code! *Correction*

allure-sample-society-red-box.jpg
I personally have LOVED my Sample Society boxes and since they've rebranded to be more Allure focused, they've been even better!

With the revamp, it seems like they might get away from the name Sample Society completely and just become the Allure box.  I'm okay with that.

If it's been awhile since you've subscribed to Sample Society you should know that multiple boxes variations are gone.  Your profile no longer "counts," not that it ever did, really but now it's not taken into consideration at all.  I'm okay with this, too.

We will all get the same box with minor variations in colors of nail polish and that sort of thing.  We will all have the same products.  I think that it's probably easier to do it this way and I'm guessing that Allure has a bit of clout in the makeup arena and that's why our boxes got amazingly good.  They were pretty hands off when Beautybar was running the show.

The Cost: $15/month

What You Get: Five deluxe-size beauty samples from a curated mix of skin, hair, and makeup products, as well as fragrance.  You'll also receive $10 BeautyBar.com gift card to redeem on any $50 Beauty Bar purchase every month.

Anyway!  Here is the second October 2014 spoiler and I'm loving it!

Loot Crate September 2014 Galactic Review + Coupon Code

I love my Loot Crates, it's no secret.  It's a box of awesome for a gamer like me.  There's a lot of nostalgia involved as well.
Hey, I started gaming with Wolfenstein on a Commodore 64.  I know I'm not the only one, though, so I have to share my love of Loot Crate with others who might feel the same way.

No other box I get is like this.  It's actually kind of like Christmas every time this box shows up.  For the most part, I don't check spoilers so I rarely know what's going to be in my Loot Crate.  It's always totally worth the price.
The Cost: $13.37/ month

What You Get: A box of gamer gear, nerd loot and fanboy awesomeness delivered to your door.  Regularly includes exclusive collectibles and T shirts.

Memebox Special #53 My Honey Box Review

Memebox My Honey Box is one I've been thinking about since I missed that first Honey box.  I was curious to see what they could find that wasn't already in a previous box.  I'm very happily surprised by the contents.  I think it's better than the first one even so I'm glad I snagged it while I could.

The cost for this box was $29 plus shipping.
Honey is good on so many levels.  Honey has been used to seal wounds during wartime and it's antimicrobial, antiseptic properties help prevent infection.  I'm hoping these same properties can help keep acne at bay!

Bulu Box September 2014 Review

There are some months where Bulu Box sends a total dud.  Make that most months.  But other months, like this month, September 2014, they actually send some interesting stuff.  I know that's not a great selling point (duh, it's totally not!) but I did only pay $5 for this box.  Actually... I'm still not sure it's worth the $5.  Whoops... Did I say that outloud?  Well, no.  But I did type it into the ether for all of posterity.

The Cost: $10/month but really... If you want to try this, use the Living Social deal and get it for only $5 a month.

What You Get: Four to 5 premium health, nutrition, and weight-loss product samples curated from top brands.
There are two kinds of Bulu Boxes.  Regular and Weight Loss.  I get the Weight Loss version because I figured, why not, losing weight is pretty much always good (unless it's because you're sick or something.  Although, there was that one time I got mono and was really happy I lost fifteen pounds).  Anyhoo...  You might wonder why on earth there's a pregnant woman featured on a product in a weight loss box.  Yeah.  So did I.  Sort of a strange item to include in a box about weight loss.
Either way, this was one of the better Bulu Boxes so I'm not going to complain.  I may make random sarcastic remarks but I try to rein them in.

Allure Sample Society October 2014 Spoiler and $5 Coupon Code!

Allure released a sneaky spoiler for the October 2014 Sample Society box!  I've been so impressed with the brands that have been featured in the new Sample Society boxes and this spoiler is another brand I can add to my happy-to-see-it list!

The Cost: $15/month

What You Get: A curated mix of five deluxe-size beauty samples of skin, hair, and makeup products, as well as fragrance —so you can use each more than once.  You will also receive an Allure mini-mag, packed with in-depth beauty sample product reviews written by Allure editors and a $10 BeautyBar.com gift card to redeem on any $50 Beauty Bar purchase every month.

Barkbox September 2014 Review "Yip, Yip, Hooray!" + 15% off Coupon Code!

The Barkbox September 2014 theme is Yip, Yip, Hurray!  Cheerdogs unite!  Actually, this is a ridiculously cute theme and I can't even believe they found these things.  It's pretty stinking adorable.
It's probably wasted on the dogs but us dog mamas certainly appreciate it.

Love With Food September 2014 Spice Up Your Life Review

I've said it before and I'll say it again.   I love my Love with Food boxes!  This is the September 2014 box and it's theme is Spice up Your Life.  Sometimes I think the themes are grasping at straws but this one totally fits.  It's all about spices!

The Cost: $10/month plus $2 shipping

What You Get:8+ new snacks each month. Snacks are either organic or all-natural, GMO-free, gluten-free or free of artificial junk.
You can also feel like you're doing a good deed when you buy a Love With Food box!  For every box sold, Love With Food donates at least one meal to help end childhood hunger in America!  They work with food banks and organizations in all 50 states!  So far they've donated 250,000 meals to hungry kids in the United States.
Once again, Love With Food outdoes themselves in the awesome department.  Eight glorious snacks and goodies are crammed into this box.  Although, not anymore because at the time I'm writing this post, those Mandy's Cookie Thins are already gone.  Whoops.
Way Better Snacks Simply So Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips- Sprouted grains and seeds make up these deliciously spicy tortilla chips which helps your body better absorb the nutrients.  "Why, grandma, how sharp your teeth are!" "The better to eat these marvelous chips before someone else does, Little Red Ridinghood!"  Okay, I don't know where that came from.  Wait, yes I do.  It was the wording of the description for these chips.
Sprouted or not, these got nommed right down.  In fact, we fought over them a little...

Maruso Ghost Soy Sauce- This is a soy sauce made with ghost peppers!  DH loves ghost peppers and will beg me to go to Red Robin with him so he can get a Ghost Pepper burger with extra ghost on the side.  One time it was so spicy that his eyes watered and he had to blow his nose.  He loved it.
So when he called me on his way home from work, I told him about this soy sauce.  Do you know what he did?!  He stopped at the store and got some sushi just so he could use this sauce immediately!
I just asked him what he thought and he said it was very good and I needed to get him more of it.
Mandys Rich Chocolate Cookie Thins- Crispy, thin cookies with caramelized sugar on top. YUM!
This are light and crispy and super dark with chocolatey cocoa powder.  SO good they're already gone.  A very delicous 90 calories.

Shotwell Candy 5 Spice Caramels- Mixed with chocolate and a hint of cinnamon, anise, clove and ginger.  These have a strange, uncaramely texture.  Now that I see they are mixed with chocolate, the texture makes sense.  I prefer to have unadulterated caramels, I think.  The texture changes too much with the addition of chocolate.  Plus, I've been spoiled beyond belief, ruined, actually, for any other kind of caramel since I've had the Serendipity Confections Cinnamon Caramels.  Sad, but true.
Churro Kettle Corn by Love With Food-  Love With Food has started branching out into making their own snacks.  This is really good but I wish there was more sauce.  There are too many popcorn pieces without goodness on them.  And plain popcorn is boring.  Churro popcorn, on the other hand, is cinnamonilicious!!  So, more cinnamon sauce on the popcorn, please!  Then it will be perfect.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood in Chocolate Infusion- This is all those green vegetable foods like wheatgrass, spinach and broccoli, mixed with cocoa powder!  And a whole bunch of fruits.  It says to mix it with milk or water and drink it.  I'm thinking... milk is good with chocolate.  But milk and fruit?  Hm...  I guess peaches and strawberries with whip cream are good, so maybe this is, too.  I'll be brave and try it tomorrow.
Fogg City Spice Co. Seasoning in Lemon Rosemary- My favorite spice combo!  I'm going to use this on chicken breast tomorrow night.  It's lemon, rosemary, garlic, smoked black pepper and salt.  Yum!
It's a really big packet, too, so I can use it on sauteed veggies, too.

Ziggy Marley Organics Hemp Rules Roasted Hemp Seeds in Sea Salt and Pepper- I've never had hemp seeds before.  They're small and they taste pretty good.  If you chew them too long, though, they start to taste weird and change consistency.  They'd be good in a salad and probably in bread, too.  They apparently have a lot of protein and are a good source for Omega-3s.

VERDICT: Another great Love With Food box down the hatch!  It's always fun when DH gets involved in one of my boxes with me.  He likes Love with Food, too, and didn't complain when I signed up for one year.  I've been consistently impressed with the sample sizes, brands and sheer amount of snacks every single time.
This is the best food/snack subscription out there (and thats my opinion).  I've tried and dumped several others but can't give up Love with Food.  The price is right and the amount and variety is always stellar.

If you want to sign up for Love With Food, you can do that right here.  You'll get your first box for only $2 shipping with this link.  This box also makes a great gift, especially if you have someone who is more interested in being healthy.  All these snacks are natural, organic, GMO-free, gluten-free or free of artificial ingredients.
