Glossybox August 2014 Review-Third Birthday Box + New Coupon Code!

Glossybox was celebrating their 3rd Birthday this month.  Their August 2014 was extra special because of it!
This months box included a special Kryolan for Glossybox highlighter and was one of the reasons I was so excited to get this particular month's box.
Also, hooray for August birthdays!  Mine's in August, too.  I think Glossybox might be fudging a little on their birthday month but I'm not going to hold it against them.  This month was a new box design as well.  I don't remember the boxes being so sharply squared off.  I like it.

Here is what I received in my box this month.  I believe the only variation was in the polish color.  I wouldn't have minded the purple and I don't mind this red either!  There are six items this month and while I'm not a huge fan of hair products, I'll be trying these.
Eslor Firming Collagen Day Cream-10ml- This contains ginseng, hydrolyzed marine collagen, avocado, wheat germ and sesame oils.  Use twice a day to improve elasticity and prevent the early appearance of wrinkles. It also has lactic acid and aloe vera gel. This is a paraben free product.  It's quite a thick cream and take awhile to sink in. It also smells like an old lady.  I don't like how it smells at all.
Value: $15
Uberliss Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner-2oz each- This is a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner set that is made with royal jelly, blueberry, apple, sugarcane, green tea and lemon extracts.  It also contains keratin.
This shampoo and conditioner set should leave your hair cleansed, soft and easy to comb.
Value: $7 total
Kryolan for Glossybox Highligher in Cashmere-  This is a special edition multi-purpose cream highlighter made especially for Glossybox.  Use on cheekbones, eyes, lips or wherever the light catches you for a dewy glow.
This is beautiful.  It applies so smoothly and has tiny shimmers to it.  It's a great color and I will be using this as often as possible.  Love.  It's made in Germany which I think is where Glossybox first started.
Value: $18.50

LaMoon Beauty Precision Nail Lacquer in Trillion Dollar Red- This is an eco-friendly nail polish and has super high shine coupled with durable wear.  It's 4-free and cruelty free.  This is a gorgeous sparkly cherry red.  I don't have anything like it yet and it's so pretty I think I need to use it right away.
Value: $5.95
Eyeko London Skinny Mini Liquid Eyeliner- This is a British cosmetics brand fronted by Alexa Chung.  This is a highly pigmented black liquid pen with a long lasting formula and a precision tip for defined lines, bold wings and everything else you can imagine.
I was thinking I wouldn't need this but now that I have it and have swatched it, I'm not giving it up.  This provides a line like no other!
Value: $8

VERDICT: Glossybox does so well most months that I can't give it up.  This box is worth $50 and I only paid $21 for it.  Or actually I paid less than that because I got a 3 month sub with a coupon so I paid $16 for this box.  TOTALLY worth it!  I consistently am impressed with the brands, the variety is great and I can use most of it.  All very important to me.

If you would like to sign up to receive a Glossybox of your own, you can do that right here.  Use code MAGIC to get a free full size Eyeko Black Magic Mascara or use the code FLAWLESS to get a full size Boscia BB Cream worth $38 added to your first box!

  1. Great color of nail polish! Mine was a Pepto pink, I won't be wearing that much as the season changes. I liked this box - I have two left until my 3mo sub runs out - still deciding if I'll keep it after that or not. Great review, thanks!

    1. Thank you! I knew there was a purple but I didn't realize there was also a Pepto pink :). It's funny because I thought mine was a bronzey color but once I swatched it, it was definitely red and way prettier than I was expecting. Red can go wrong pretty easily. So can pink and Pepto bismol is never a color anyone wants on their fingers! I've got two more months on my sub, too. I always think maybe I'll cancel but I'm always glad I haven't.
