Memebox Meme's Pouch Review + Coupon Codes

I've been sitting on this Meme's Pouch box for a couple days.  Not literally but sort of looking at it and wondering.  Wondering what I thought of it, I guess.  First, I was expecting an actual pouch or makeup bag.  Especially with the name of the box.  There isn't one.  That's not a deal breaker, I suppose.

Memebox Meme's Pouch was $23 plus shipping and is currently sold out.  I purchased this as part of a set with Memebox Special Moisture Surge (which I loved).  I used a code and Memepoints but the box still came out to $20.
The box has six items in it.  Three body products and three makeup items.  There's only one thing in this box that I'm totally in love with.  The other five are (for me) kinda meh.
Etude House Blotting Paper Compact-50 sheets- This is super cute.  Pink (yay!) and has a mirror.
The square pad has a sticky bottom that attaches to the top piece of blotting paper.  Blot your face with the cute pad, peel off the used paper and put the pad back on top of the stack of papers in the compact where it will stick to the next piece of paper. Repeat!
This is adorable and I love it.  It's my favorite thing in the box.  The paper is  handmade from mulberry tree pulp and gets rid of excess oil on your face.
Value: $6
Croquis Alight Pact-10g- A mirrored compact with pressed powder in three colors to highlight and contour with.
This is my second favorite item but I can't decide if I want to keep it or send it off to someone who would use it more than I would.  I can't believe how expensive it is.  The Memebox card says it's $35 but everywhere I looked it was $45 or more.
Value: $35
Drww Mix and Match Set-This is an all in one color kit featuring lip and cheek products.  It includes lip balm, brightly colored lip tint, concealer and a mixing pot for your own creations.
I don't know how often I'd use this either.  It is super cute but just not my thing.  This is why I tend to avoid the makeup boxes.  I have my favorites already and tend to stick with them.
Value: $17
Evas RoseMine Perfumed Hand Cream-60ml- I received the Maybe Scent but you could also receive Gleaming Bijou or Musk & Musk.  Maybe is billed as the ultimate fruity flowery scent with lychee, apricot and poppy notes.  It's a little too floral for me so this will be passed on.
Value: $7

Valley Sous Hair Solution Protein Therapy Perfect Mist 150ml- This has 20 different kinds of protein and natural ingredients like argan oil, rosehip oil and assai oil for delivering nourishment to your follicles.  It has a fresh fruity musky fragrance with violet, blueberry and lily of the valley notes.
Spray into your hair before or after blow-drying.
Value: $18
Evas By Marait Eau de Perfume in Baies Noires-30ml- Baies Noires is made from sweet blackberry, grapefruit, bay leaf and cedarwood for a fruity, black current fragrance.
This actually doesn't smell bad.  It did leak in transit, unfortunately.  I prefer my Marc Jacobs or Harvey Prince Hello, though.  This smells fine but it doesn't have that rich intensity that signifies quality perfumes.
Value: $30 (according to Memebox)

VERDICT: This Memebox is not what I thought it would be.  I am a little disappointed that there's only one thing I really like and its worth $6.  I just... I'm not into Korean makeup (unless its adorable) and I don't think I was expecting so many perfumey items.  Maybe I'm just tired and grumpy?  It does have a nice variety and if you like scented things, you'll love this box.  I don't use hand cream, am pretty monogamous with my perfumes and have a highlighter that is perfect on my skin.
Objectively...  Its a good box.  It has a little body, a little hair, skincare in the blotting papers and some makeup.  All in one box.  So the variety is definitely there.  The value is, too, though its pretty tied up in the one Croquis highlighter compact.  It's just not the box for me.

I think I'm doing pretty good with boxes.  I generally have received boxes I enjoy.  Of all the boxes I've gotten, there's only been three (which includes this one) that I haven't liked.

If you'd like to see more about Memebox, head to their website.

If you want a recommendation on where to start, I first recommend getting a Memebox Global.  Currently,#18 is on sale.  That won't ship for awhile, though, so in the meantime, I'm also recommending Luckybox #10 and Yogurt Cosmetics.
I'm getting Yogurt Cosmetics and the Luckyboxes are perfect if you've never received a Memebox before.  They have items from past Global boxes in them.  I find that the Global Memeboxes and the Luckyboxes have the best record for value and variety.

If you decide to make a purchase, don't forget to use a coupon!!  Here are some to get you started:

WXJV- $5 off in September!
RDIC3Q- $5 off in September!
S7FWKI- $5 off in September!

Also, tomorrow Memebox CutiePie Marzia 2 will be released.  You will be able to see the contents of this box and will be able to make an informed decision about whether to purchase or not.  It's reputed to be full of super cute stuff and expected to sell out quickly.

  1. The blotting paper thing is so cool! I've never seen anything like that before. I have blotting papers but have never really liked pulling them out of the packet with my fingernails ... feels unhygenic somehow.

    1. I seriously do love it! I've already stuck it in my bag because well, why not? :D They work, too. Although I think the rice paper ones might absorb more? I can't decide.

  2. Oh man I actually would have loved this box! I love drww. products and that highlight/contour palette is to die for! Also that perfume at the end sounds super nice! Also those Etude House blotting papers are crazy-awesome!

I avoided this box because I'm not too keen on Korean Makeup, either, although there are exceptions. The drww. concealer is seriously better than any concealer I've ever used in my life, lol. Also Etude House's brow pencil has a permanent place in my makeup bag. I've received a few things that have been pleasantly surprising, but honestly I get Memeboxes for skincare, mostly, so I totally understand where you're coming from!'s called Meme's Pouch. That's the name of the dang box, and there's no POUCH? Oh fail.

    1. Yep! Agree. I was expecting a pouch. I'm SO glad that this box is appealing to you! If everyone felt like me about it, then there would be lots of sad people. It makes me feel better knowing that people will love it.

  3. This was far better than I expected, actually! I'm glad that it wasn't a deluxe sample junk drawer (as I worried it would be). I found the most adorable pouch that should have been included with this on TesterKorea: $45 for the pact lol

    1. Well, I'm glad that others are loving the box! I actually was hoping for a deluxe sample junk drawer! LOL!! They totally should have included a pouch. Am I blind about that Croquis for $45? I didn't see anything cheaper but I'm still flabbergasted and thinking I must have missed something.

  4. Same..wished there was a pouch :(
Also almost bought the etude blotting pact on other sites. Score!!

I loved the Baies Noires perfume though...been wanting to trade for it within EU.

    1. The perfume doesn't smell bad at all. I actually kinda like it but I tend to be stick with my absolute favorites. I'll maybe spray on another one here and there but always come back to my trusty faves. And I *do* love the blotting papers. SO CUTE and handy, too.

  5. I received this box this morning & I had the exact same reaction!
I was totally expecting a pouch full of makeup & beauty items... this box was quite interesting, but had a great value!

    1. I don't know why they didn't include a pouch and I was definitely expecting travel sized items but what we got was pretty good so I'm not really complaining :)
