Birchbox October 2014 Reviews- Two Boxes this Month! Plus Coupon Codes!

This month I got two Birchboxes because I got myself a gift account.  Apparently, you can't do that anymore and I understand that but I'm glad I made it in before they cut it off.  This is the October 2014 box and I'm VERY happy with both of the ones I received!
This is my favorite Birchbox of the two.  I think.  They're actually both really good boxes and while I won't use everything in them, I know when the box is rockin'! So many fun things to try!

The Cost: $10/monthly

What You Get:  4–5 personalized beauty and lifestyle samples that have been tailored to your profile. You’ll get to try products from niche brands, up-and-coming lines, and everything in between.

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser-  This is a two in one cleanser and exfoliator that smells like lemons.  I'm not particularly fond of Suki or this cleanser, though I've received a lot of it in my Birchboxes.

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Eyeshadow Palette Set in Ballerina-  I love this WAY more than the one I got in my Ipsy bag last month.  That one was all blues.  This is perfect pinks and roses!  I'm going to be practicing with these colors for sure.
Essentiel Elements Wake Up Rosemary Shower Gel-  At first I was like "Oh, what!?" Birchbox has a typo!  But no.  That's how its spelled.  Apparently its a San Francisco company trying to be French? Weird.  Anyway,  it smells fantastic!  I love minty smelling soaps, especially in the mornings. There's just something invigorating about it.  So this will go right on the shower shelf. Yay!

Macadamia Professional Flawless Cleansing Conditioner- This is a multi-purpose, no suds formula cleanses and softens hair and cuts down blow dry time.  This is a big 3oz cannister!  A very generous sample even though I don't like hair products (except the Beauty Protector).
Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Linen- An oil free SPF 15 formula that controls shine and leaves a soft velvet finish.  I'm really excited to try this.  I'm looking for a good BB cream type of thing.  I don't like it when my face looks furry.  You know what I mean?

I'm loving this box!  What great sizes!  I might wish the Jouer was a little bit bigger but if I hate it then I won't mind.  My favorite items from this box are the shower gel, Jouer and the Coastal Scents palette.  But I can't ignore the awesome size of the Macadamia hair conditioner either.
Birchbox Number Two!  I can hardly believe all the fun stuff I got.  Between these two boxes, I raked it in!  This box has one of my all time favorite products AND lip gloss!  I might have sixty million lip glosses already but I can't stop wanting more!
LuMesh Hydrating Lip Gloss- I'm a sucker for a pinky lip gloss and this one is great.  I've never heard of LuMesh but I adore the tiny sampler.  It's a shimmery rosey pink that looks really good with my skin tone so I'm happy.

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Palette in Ballerina-  Yep, another one but that's okay.  I was sort of hoping for different colors but since I really like these, more of a good thing is always better.

Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser- More Suki!  Someone is going to be happy when they get these in trade.  I have other cleansers I prefer to use.
Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle Leave In Conditioner-  I absolutely love this stuff.  The more the better.  It smells SO good and it works wonderfully.  It does have issues with the spray bottle but I don't know if its only with these travel size ones or not because I've never purchased the full size one from Birchbox.  It works great for detangling when using on wet hair and for smoothing frizzies when my hair is dry.

Tocca Crema da Mano Bianca- Green Tea and Lemongrass scented hand cream absorbs quickly and smells really good.  I don't use hand cream much and when I do I like it to have an SPF so this will go into my MIL's stocking.

VERDICT: Two great boxes!  I'm thrilled with both of these.  I know I've grouched about foil samples in Birchbox but when they want to make a great box, they *really* make great boxes!  I know I'm in the minority but when they start putting tea in again, I'm gonna be even happier!  I got a year subscription to Birchbox for $75 and I'm looking forward to the next ten months I have left!

If you want to see Birchbox for yourself and sign up, you can do that right here.  When you sign up make sure you use a coupon code because you can get $10 in Birchbox points!  You can use BBJETBLUE, BBSTORE100, or BEAUTYBASH100.  Don't forget to fill out your profile!  I don't like to get perfume and they have a way to opt out of getting too much.

    1. Hi, Maddy! I bought myself a gift subscription and made a new, different account to use it. I get two boxes because I made two different accounts. :D. I know some girls get 4!

  3. I got the Suki cleanser too - I wouldn't use it at a face wash, but after looking at the ingredients, I decided to try it as a lip scrub. It may actually be the best lip scrip I've ever tried! And, bonus, since it's supposed to be a face wash, the sample size makes it about the size of a full sized lip scrub. Suck on that, tiny birchbox samples!

    1. Really?! Ooo! I could totally do that! And yes, they are the tiniest samples ever, aren't they?! Why Suki even bothers making them is beyond me! Now I have to run upstairs and dig it out so I can try it on my lips :D
