Ipsy October 2014 Beauty Candy Review

Ipsy's October 2014 made it!  Honestly, I was so thrown off because I normally post all the Ipsy spoilers but this month I was out of town and had literally zero time to be hunting spoilers and products.  So, I'm sorry for not getting those spoilers out!

At the same time, not being focused on spoilers totally made me forget that I was even getting Ipsy! Is that bad or what?!  So I basically had no idea what I would be getting, I didn't even know what the bag looked like until I opened my shiny pink envelope.  Usually I'm a little more on top of it!
Anyhoo!  So without knowing (or remembering) what was in the Ipsy bags this month, everything came as a total surprise!

The Cost: $10

What You Get: Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products.

Ipsy is a fun, affordable way to get a box of (random) beauty supplies delivered to your door.  There's a pretty great range of cosmetics you'll get in the course of a subscription.  I kind of can't believe all the stuff I've gotten.

Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser-  This is in a cucumber and watercress version and it's for all skin types. This gentle cleanser washes away impurities without drying, irritating or causing redness. Cucumber hydrates and soothes. Watercress, rich in antioxidants, helps protect skin from free radical damage. Fragrance-Free. Alcohol-Free. Gluten-Free. Vegan.
It's also a great size!  This will last quite awhile and it's perfect for travel or putting in your purse, just in case.
Value: $2

Mica Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow in Harlequin-  This is a ridiculously gorgeous dark-green/blue shimmer shadow. Im going to wear it when we go meet up with the GM of the Seahawks for Monday Night Football.  It's not quite Seahawks but it's close!
As far as I can tell, this is the full size real thing! Wow!
Value: $15
SkynIceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths- I love face cloths of all kinds.  I've been using them for years and they are one of the easiest things to pack in your carryon while traveling.  Take them anywhere you know you'll need a skin refresher.
Infused with Icelandic glacial waters and beneficial natural extracts, they sweep away makeup, dirt, oil and other impurities while refreshing and soothing stressed skin. Best of all, there's no water required. It has a clean scent, never tacky.
Value: $5

And I can't forget the supercute teal quilty bag everything came in this time around.  Love it!  I have a friend who will love it even more since this is her favorite color so I'm going to pack it with goodies and give it to her.
Ayres Patagonia Body Butter- I think I've received this before.  In a Glossybox or something.  I don't particularly care for it or the scent but I know others will appreciate it's jasmine-rosemary scent. Enriched with plant emollients, herbal extracts and vitamins, this ultra-rich creamy body butter provides relief from dry, rough skin. Vitamin E natural antioxidant provides protection to your skin, while shea nut butter gives long-lasting hydration.
Value: $4

Noyah Lipstick in Deeply in Mauve-  This has a semi-matte, cream finish that leaves your lips hydrated and nourished. This is a truly gorgeous shade and one of my absolute favorites.  I wish the sample twisted all the way down since I've already managed to mash it into the cap.  Ugh.  Still, this is one of my go-to lip colors and I'm happy to add it to my collection.
Value: $8
Then last but not least, I received my very first Ipsy reward using Ipsy points!  I was lucky enough to get these Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder eyeshadows before they sold out.  I think every time I look to use points, all the good stuff is already gone.  I don't know how people do it!  Good timing, I guess!

Still, these are very beautiful eyeshadows and I'm happy to have them.  I'm not too sure about the Gold but the Espresso and Ivory look mighty fine to me.  I don't know if I've used a gel eyeshadow before. These can apparently be used wet or dry, resist creasing, and comes in satin matte, shimmer and iridescent metallic finishes.
Value: $12 (1000 Ipsy points)

VERDICT:  For a bag that was a complete surprise, I'm very happy with this. The only thing I won't use is the Ayres and that's pretty good for an Ipsy bag!  This bag's value is about $35 which is definitely worth the $10 I paid for it.  Plus it's nice that we can earn Ipsy points by reviewing things and referring people and get extra goodies every once in awhile.
I feel like I hit the jackpot because of the Noyah lipstick and the SkynIceland face cloths! Lucky me!

If you would like to sign up for Ipsy, you can do that here.  There tends to be a waitlist, so my recommendation is to sign up as soon as possible.  They won't charge you until you're off the list.  I think I was on the list for two months (basically 2 bags so not too long) before I got off.

Still, if you want a little fun to arrive each month in your mailbox, Ipsy is a fun, economical way to give yourself a present. :D
