Ive been looking forward to this box for awhile now. I really wanted a box that would provide a true and complete skincare program all at once.
Memebox is a Korean company that sends boxes with mystery Korean beauty and skincare products to your door. It's like a subscription box but without a subscription. You pick the ones with themes you think you might like and Memebox will ship them to you from Korea.
Here's the routine I follow usually: Cleanser, Toner, Serum, Essence, Ampoule, Emulsion (light lotion), moisturizer with sunscreen. At night, I sometimes toss a mask on in between my toner and serum and will conclude with a sleeping pack instead of the moisturizer with sunscreen.
Mizon Mojito Punch Pore Toner- I *love* seeing Mizon in Memeboxes. There have been more and more and I'm really excited to see what else is included in future boxes. This toner is formulated with ylang ylang extract, lavender water, rosemary leaf water, Peppermint extract, Lime extract and a bunch of other antioxidant providing plants and fruits.
This is actually the second step in a skincare regimen. The first step being cleansing, obviously.
After you wash your face, apply toner to your face with your hands or a cotton pad. This toner has lavender water in it and I'm allergic to lavender, which breaks my heart. I might try it anyway but I have a feeling the lavender is too high on the list. Maybe I'll just take a Benedryl and then apply it.
Haha! The thing we do for beauty? My skin will likely be fine, it's my lungs I worry about.
Value: $15
Insobeau Super Yellow Intense Renew Essence- I've tried a few Insobeau products in my Memeboxes and I really like the brand so seeing this is fun. This is an essence which typically would come after a serum in my routine. I usually will apply from lightest to thickest, density wise and with my current products that means serum, essence, ampoule. Essences usually will contain higher quantities of a certain ingredient and focus on a specific issue.
This Super Yellow Intense Renew Essence contains arbutin for lightening and evening out your skintone. It also has vitamin E high on the ingredient list and therefore provides a larger measure of antioxidant benefits, as well.
Value: Memebox says $78 and their prices are usually inflated. However, I can't find this anywhere else, so I'm gonna say it's expensive and probably about $50 irl.
Migabee Royal Jelly and Honey Energy Ampoule- I've been hearing a lot about this brand and how great their honey products are so I'm very excited to add this to my repertoire! Ampoules contain high concentrations of extracts. Ampoules usually come in smaller bottles and are thicker than serums or essences. Using a dropper, apply a few drops on your face and pat in with your fingers. A little goes a long way!
This particular product contains royal jelly and honey extracts to soothe, moisturize and strengthen the skins natural barrier. It also provides an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefit, as well, that is derived by the honey itself. If you have acne prone skin, I highly recommend adding a honey or royal jelly product to your routine. You can even add a drop of this ampoule into your moisturizer for the same effect.
I'm pretty pleased with the ingredient list, as well. This is a great product!
Ingredient list: Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Honey Extract (10%) Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Boerhavia Diffusa Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Beta-Glucan, Adenosine, Royal Jelly Extract (0.01%), Arginine, Carbomer, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Alcohol, Fragrance
Value: $25
Tony Moly My Sunny Milky Sun Cream- Currently I have enough sunscreen to swim in but this one uses zinc oxide as the sunscreen which is good. It's also supposed to help even out your skintone. I don't know if it's tinted because I'm not going to open this. I want it to keep it's efficacy since I won't be able to get to it for awhile. Sunscreen is the last thing I apply to my face so I should have switched the products in this photo but too late now. I usually end up using a BB cream with a sunscreen anyway.
She's Uris Cosmetics Rice Water Double Action Cream- Okay, this is billed as a water drop cream, which I love! This is for hydrating and evening out the skintone. I sadly can't find an English ingredient list, but it appears to have lots of plant extracts in it and the Memebox description says theres rice bran water, adenosine and cacao extracts. I'll have to keep this and put it into rotation!
Value: $30
Taphre Special Care Mask- I've never seen this brand but if the ingredients are anything to go by, I might end up loving this extra! With propolis extracts, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants in the forms of fruit and nut extracts, this is right up my alley. It also has peptides! And propolis and hyaluronic acid are the first two ingredients! I want more of these already!
So, you can use a sheet mask after your toner or as a special treatment before your moisturizer. You want the goodness to be able to penetrate your skin so you don't want to put an oil based moisturizer on and then try to use this. Oils create a natural barrier to keep your skin moisture from escaping and therefore also won't let anything in. Super handy in the winter!
Value: $7
VERDICT: LOVE! Love and adore this Memebox! This box is full of wonderful products. Packed! Exploding with great brands! Can you tell I like this? If it comes up for restock you better get it! While I may not be able to use the toner because of the lavender, this box would be worth it for the Migabee and Insobeau by themselves for me. I cannot wait to get to using these products! Aaahhh!!
I'm excited, in case you can't tell. I think I might have to go wash my face and start my whole routine all over again just to use these.
If you'd like to get a Memebox of your own, you can see what's available here. My personal recommendation is for Global #18 but it wont ship for awhile. Memebox usually releases boxes three times a week but they've been working hard setting up their China website and releases have been limited lately. I expect it to pick back up soon, though.

Whooooooa your new header!
ReplyDeleteI know right!! I'm trying to get a new one that looks nicer and is actually the right size. What did you think?
DeleteHmmm, both the old and the new headers have their merits. I think the new one felt off-center. XD But I might just be a creature of habit and so I tend to resist change, haha. Truthfully, both are great! :)
DeleteYah, I'm having it redone in a header format. I hope it works. I can't decide if it's too foofy for me or not.
DeleteHello again from Seattle!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a favorite essence, ampoule, and daily moisturizer?
I'm trying to figure out what I want to do to revamp my skincare routine. c:
Currently my favorite essence is the Benton High Content Snail Bee Essence. It's soothing, goes on smoothly and has no stickiness at all. Plus the ingredients are fantastic and that's the most important part for me. For ampoules, I switch between an LJH Vita-Propolis (especially if I'm feeling like a breakout- honey is just too good for that kind of thing) and a Ramosu 100% Hyaluronic Acid. I also use a Paula's Choice Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum which I really like since it never makes me feel greasy. Daily Moisturizer changes a lot right now because I have so many of them. Right now I'm trying out a Chamos Pomegranate Anti-Wrinkle one but I've been loving the SN-T Goddess Cream, too. Nights I use the Lioele WaterDrop Sleeping Pack which I absolutely adore and highly recommend for combination skin.
DeleteOooh~ Great! Is the LJH Vita-Proplis the Tea Tree extract one? I've seen it all over the place on the memebox site-- But I've been resisting because I'm hoping to get an ampoule of some sort in one of the many boxes I've ordered. I have pretty oily to combination skin, so I'm trying to find some products that won't make me blast out in a breakout. I will definitely give the SN-T cream a go though... Right now I'm using an Aveeno daily moisturizer with SPF and it does the trick, but it makes me feel a bit oily afterwards... So these recommendations are great c:
DeleteThe LJH VitaPropolis is not the same as the Tea Tree one. I have the LJH Tea Tree Essence but haven't opened it yet and I'm hoping for more types (the LJH cream?!) in the Tea Tree box which I bought. Oh, you will love the SN-T cream if you've got oily skin! It's so light! You'll need an SPF still but it's a great moisturizer.
DeleteOh no, it sucks that you're allergic to lavender! I'd probably crack open the Insobeau essence first though because it sounds all sorts of awesome.
ReplyDeleteThat and the Migabee are already sitting on my counter, staring at me. Begging me to use them and forget about the four essences I already have open :D
DeleteUghh I'm working on my review for this box right now but I can't finish it yet- I'm trying everything out and oohing and ahhing at how wonderful it all is. This is seriously one of the best boxes I've received in a long time. I know your pain with the lavender stuff, except my issue is with Rose. Just the smell makes me nauseous. :( If you don't get to use that mojito toner I would die of sadness for you! It might be my favorite product in this bunch!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with it all! I can't do the toner. I unscrewed the cap and could smell lavender even though it was still sealed so that was a no go. Otherwise this is my new favorite box :D
DeleteNow this is a box that I wish I would have ordered. You mentioned that you have quite an involved skin care routine. What's your fave product?
ReplyDeleteGreat post! #kbeautybloghop
