Treatsie November 2014 Double Treats Review + Coupon Code

Treatsie is subscription box that sends unique, small batch sweets to your door each month.  This is the November 2014 box BUT I used a coupon code that gave me double the treats so the normal box does *not* have this much stuff in it.

The Cost: $19.95/month ($15.95 plus $4.95 shipping)

What You Get: Every month, you get a box of of amazing sweets from 3 of the best small-batch sweets vendors in the country. The vendors change every month and each box has a retail value of $20 – $25 before shipping.

Megpies Cinnamon Brown Sugar and Blueberry Handmade Tarts- These... were okay.  It's pretty thick pie crust with a little bit of filling and a hard crunchy frosting glaze on top.  The flavor of the filling was good but there just wasn't enough of it for the amount of pie crust that was involved.
Papabubble Hard Candies-A  hard candy fruit mix with flavors including lemon, lime, orange, pink grapefruit, apple, pear, passion fruit, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, mango and coconut.  I am sorry to say that I did not care for these either.  For some reason, they taste like feet.  Just the white inner part, though.  The outer colored part was fine.  I think.  But still.  Feet.

Avenue Sweets Caramels in Dutch Apple and Vanilla-  I adore these!  These are probably my second favorite caramel in the world!  My first favorite is Serendipity Caramels.  These are super tasty and soft. Yum!
Brix Bites in Medium and Extra Dark- Oooo, so delicious.  Dark and gorgeous.  Just pure, glorious dark chocolatey goodness.  Mmm.

Eclipse Chocolates Cinnamon Brown Sugar-Milk chocolate flecked with muscovado sugar, cinnamon bread crumb & ginger sea salt.  I really want to try this but my mom will die and go to heaven if she got this so I'm giving it to her.  It has all her favorite things in it.  Since I prefer dark chocolate anyway, it would be a shame not to let her have it.
Alcove Chocolates-  I received three flavors: Mimosa Dark (Alcove combines 64% dark chocolate with essences of fresh orange juice and sparkling champagne), Fleur de Sel Dark (64% cacao complimented with natural sea salt) and Red Velvet Milk (Velvety, smooth red milk chocolate layered with flavors of cheesecake frosting and chocolate cake).
The Mimosa is delicous!  I like orange and chocolate.  I don't like salt in my chocolate.  Or caramel. I know.  I'm the odd duck.  My mom loves salty chocolate but I don't so she gets these, too.  And the red velvet because it's milk chocolate.  She's going to love me so much. Haha!
Fixx Chocolates Chell's-  Cashew nougat with caramel and roasted cashew.  This is like a cashew Snickers.  It's pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty tasty.

VERDICT: So, this was a really great box with the extra sweets.  It makes the $19.95 worth it.  I believe the normal box would only have had the Megpies, Alcove Chocolates and Fixx Chocolates. Which wouldn't really be worth it since I can get great chocolate here at home.  I find that the main problem I have with Treatsie is the lack of variety.  Since normally this box has only three items, it's hard to find something to like.  What I'm trying to say is that there might be six things in the box but they're only three TYPES of things.  If there was six things and they were all different, it would be easier to find something to like.

So while I don't really recommend the regular Treatsie box, I *do* recommend getting a box with extra sweets!  Use code EXTRASWEETS to get double sweets in your box like I did.  Sign up here and use that code!

  1. Omg I've been craving chocolate like crazy lately, so this review came at the more perfect/awful time. *sends fiance out to get candy*
That "cashew snickers" chocolate is calling to me...

    1. Aww!! I enabled your chocolate craving!! And it was very, very good chocolate so I hope yours was tasty, too.

  2. Mmm, feet candy. I feel like I've had candies like that before but they weren't especially foot-like? Strange.

    1. Haha! Seriously, though. Weirdest taste ever. :D
