ScentBird Perfume Subscription Review Plus 50% Off Coupon!

Scentbird is a subscription box for fragrance lovers!  With Scentbird, you can choose your perfume from a catalog of over 350 authentic luxury perfume.  This is a great way to get your favorite scents for a reasonable price and in a completely portable size!  This box was sent to me for review purposes.  I've never considered a fragrance subscription before but this has actually intrigued me!

The Cost: $14.95/month.

What You Get: Each month you will receive an 8 ml purse spray in a luxury perfume of your choice.

I am not a huge perfume user.  It takes me a long time to go through a regular 1.7oz bottle.  I have a few scents that I know I love and I tend to stick with them.  Those would be Lolita Lempicka, Marc Jacobs and Liz Claiborne Vivid.  Just to give you an idea of how long it takes me to use up a perfume... I've had the same Vivid parfum bottle for nearly 20 years.  I absolutely love it but for years I was afraid to use it because I couldn't find a back up anywhere so I used it sparingly and only on date nights.  Now, thanks to Amazon, I can use it whenever I want because I know where to get more! Yay!

Part of my sparing perfume use is because when I was growing up, my dad was very... sensitive about smells.  He didn't even want us using hair spray if it had a scent of any kind.  That obviously made it very difficult to get those ridiculously high bangs that were so in style in the 80's.  It also meant that we couldn't wear perfume in the house.
For me, Scentbird is perfect.  They send a 8ml purse spray in any of their available scents.  I get to try something new without shelling out for the full size.  It would make me a little more adventurous, too.
They don't have every perfume in the universe but they have a lot.  I couldn't find my staple Marc Jacobs so I decided to try a Marc Jacobs Daisy instead.  Scentbird has a really amazing system for helping you find a new perfume.  You fill out your profile, select your favorite types of scents, put in three of your personal favorite perfumes and then they recommend some new perfumes based on what your answers were from their extensive collection!

Marc Jacobs Daisy was one of the suggested fragrances for me, along with Thierry Mugler Alien, a Tom Ford, Burberry, Bvlgari and a Versace.
The scent I chose arrived in a black tube with a protective pouch.  It's a nice size and would easily fit in a clutch handbag.  Probably not a pocket.  Although I don't know why you would want to carry perfume in your pocket, I'm just mentioning it to help you gauge the size!
You twist the black tube up and the sprayer appears.  It sprays easily in a large, very fine mist cloud.
I ended up really enjoying the Marc Jacobs Daisy scent I was sent.  I took their test a few different ways and now I'm trying to decide what I should do next!  To switch to your new perfume you just twist up the sprayer and pull the glass perfume right out of the top of the protective tube.  Each perfume will be labeled so you don't forget which is which.

When you sign up you'll receive a case with your first month but after that you will just be sent the inner perfume bottle.  You can queue up some of your favorite perfumes in your account profile and then you don't have to log on each month and choose.  If you don't choose, you will be sent the Perfume of the Month.

January's Perfume of the Month will be L'eau D'Issey Absolue.
Scentbird prides itself on sending only authentic fragrances.  You will not receive a fake or a knockoff or anything less than the real, legitimate product.  I asked how they filled the 8ml purse sprays and the agent was nice enough to tell me that they get big jars called drammers from the perfume manufacturers and then fill the purse sprays from those.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, you can sign up with Scentbird here!  Don't forget to use a coupon!

Use code BIRD50 to get 50% off your first month!  You can get your first month of perfume for $7.50.  It's very easy to cancel, you can do it right from your account profile.  You can also purchase multi-month subscriptions and send a month (or more) of perfume as a gift!

Right now, I'm just debating which perfume I should get because $7.50 for the first month is pretty irresistible and there's several perfumes in their catalog I wouldn't mind trying!

  1. Normally I use the best smelling cologne for men. I hope it is a great fragrant and sweet smelling perfume. Though I have not used it before.
