Allure Sample Society February 2015 Review

I'm pretty excited about this Allure Sample Society February 2015 box.  There was a mix-up last month that included the StriVectin in the box when it wasn't supposed to be.  It was supposed to be in the February box so that's why there is a repeat.  I'm not complaining because I like StriVectin!

I like Sample Society because it's a reasonable price and the brands are pretty awesome.  I like getting Butter London and Laura Mercier, I won't lie. :D

The Cost: $15/month

What You Get: Five deluxe-size beauty samples from a curated mix of skin, hair, and makeup products, as well as fragrance. You'll also receive $10 gift card to redeem on any $50 Beauty Bar purchase every month.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush- This is a scented dry shampoo.  Dry shampoos absorb the grease from your hair and scalp and add volume.  The information booklet that comes with the box says that this is remarkably free of white flakes which is my main problem with dry shampoos.  A blonde probably wouldn't have issues but my dark hair loves to show off those flakes.  Maybe I don't brush it out long enough.
Value: $2

Nails Inc in Princes Palace- This is an opaque light-blue polish.  I feel it's a pretty periwinkle color because it's more than just blue.  The booklet suggests using it with matte topcoat and I think I'm going to try that after Valentine's Day.
Value: $9
Nugg Face Masks- These are so fun!!  I'm super excited to try these.  There are three.  Deep Cleansing uses cucumber extract and jojoba oil for an ultra clean and shine free look and feel.  Hydrating has camellia seed oil and spirulina extract for intense hydration and protection for dry, dehydrated skin.  Revitalizing incorporates flaxseed and peppermint oil to plump up dull, tired skin.
I'm going to start with the Deep Cleansing one.  These won't flake but are more rubbery when they dry. These are pretty expensive at $3 a pop.
Value: $9
StriVectin Intensive Illuminating Serum- This has a slight floral scent and uses niacin to help brighten your skin and even out skintone.  It's thin and goes on quite sheer without any leftover stickiness.  It's ridiculously expensive at $89 an ounce.  I'm glad we got that accidental one last month.
Value: $22

Chloe Love Story-  It's no secret I hate getting perfume in my boxes.  Since you can get these things anywhere free from a department store counter, it's basically worthless.  This is a sweet and cheerful floral perfume.  I don't like floral scents but this one isn't bad.  Of course, part of that is I don't want to say anything nice about it because I'm grumpy it's in the box. Hah!

VERDICT: Sample Society always has the best brands and I love getting the StriVectin.  I haven't got Nugg masks in any box before and I'm truly excited to try them.  With my forays into Korean beauty, my horizons have been widened to include masks of all types as a form of skincare.  It's pretty fun.  I also love the nail polish color because I dont have anything even close in my collection.  This box was absolutely worth it for me even though I hate the perfume and it's likely I won't use the dry shampoo.
