Memebox Global #19 January Box Review Unboxing

It's funny how when it rains it pours with Memebox.  This is the Memebox Global #19 which they renamed the January Box when they finally put it on sale outside of a bundle.  There have been a lot of changes with Memebox lately and most of them aren't good.  The biggest change, of course, is the decision to stop shipping outside of Korea, China and the US.  I may live in the US but that doesn't mean I'm happy about that, let me tell you.  Ugh.

Anyway, this Memebox was $23 plus $6.99 shipping and I paid $13 for it using a combination of points and coupons.  I was afraid that they wouldn't put Global #19 up for sale at all since they seemed to have cut back completely on boxes.  Since the Globals have always been my favorites for finding completely random products, I was desperate to get my hands on one.

I'm actually pleased with this box, I have to admit.

The Choute Aurora Pearl Base-30ml- I really want to try this but I know it's going to make me so shiny.  It has "micro-light deflectors" which to me means "get extra shiny skin".  I might try it as a highlighter/luminizer though.  It's got pink tones which would work for me.  Since it's a primer, it goes under foundation but I'm pretty sure the "dewy" will shine through. Hah!

Mimi Lauryne's Beauty Lesson Hand Cream-50ml-  This is a brand I like based on the Grapefruit Box.  I loved the Mimi Lauryn's spray in that box so much.  Sadly, the scent of my lotion is Rose.  I don't really like rose but this is a cute tube and I can gift it.  The other scents are Citrus and Exotique.
Esthetic House Vitamin C Vita-Capsule Cream-  Vitamin C is good for skin brightening and getting rid of dark spots on your skin.  I'm happy to see this has opaque packaging (never get vitamin c in clear plastic).  It is suggested to apply this to discolorations or mix it with your regular moisturizer.

Hah!
Secret Nature Moringa Toner- This is my favorite thing in the box.  It's a huge bottle, too.  It's a clarifying and hydrating toner with Moringa seed extract, hibiscus flower extract, fermented lotus extract and purified water.  I've discovered I like fermented things in my skincare because I find that they're very soothing and good with sensitive skin.

PurePlus Acai Berry Bubble Cleansing Foam-80ml- An antioxidant packed cleanser.  Massage onto your skin and rinse off.  Sounds good to me! I like foaming cleansers so this will definitely be kept and put in line with my other cleansers waiting to be used.

VERDICT: I actually like this box.  Mainly for the Moringa toner but I'll use the cleanser, and the Vitamin C cream.  I won't use the rose hand cream but I can gift it and I'm still debating the primer.  I might end up liking it and I suppose that *is* what Memebox is all about.  Finding new things to try and fall in love with.  Basically I paid about $5 per product and I think that's reasonable.  I'd probably pay far more than that for the toner, especially if I end up loving it.

You know what I hope?  I hope that Memebox starts including English ingredient translations on their products now that they are shipping from the US.  I wonder if there's a regulation for that.

You can see all the boxes Memebox currently has for sale right here.  International shipping ends on February 13th but until then you can buy boxes no matter where you are and they'll be shipped to you.

I do have a few available coupons, though I don't think any will work on Memeboxes.  If you want something from the shop, though, check my Memebox Deals page.

  2. Definitely not a bad box considering the group of hot-mess curations they've had over the past month or so. The toner is definitely the most enviable thing in the box- Secret Nature rocks my world!

Also- you should give some of those "reflecting pearl blah blah" primers a try. I have a few that I've gotten from memeboxes (holika holika and vivito to name a couple) and while some have made me shiny, some of them blend out beautifully and give a sort of healthy "lit from within" glow. Especially when they're worn under foundation rather than on their own. If they do make you shiny, they're nice to use as a liquid highlight on the tops of the cheek bones and on the collar bones etc. :)

    1. That's what I'm hoping for! Plus it's SO rare to get a pink undertone. Most tend to be yellow and I end up looking pasty and half dead.

I'll have to try it tomorrow on a fresh face :D
