Scentbird February 2015 ~ A Fragrance Subscription Plus Get 25% Off!

Scentbird is a really wonderful fragrance subscription.  Each month you will receive a perfume of your choice from your personalized profile.  Yes.  It's not a mystery.  You get to choose which perfumes you want sent to you and you can even specify which month you want them sent in!

That means you can choose springy, floral scents in April, May and June.  Summery, clean and beachy breeze scents during the warm months and sultry, spicy scents for Fall.  Really, it's all up to you!

The Cost: $14.95/month

What You Get: Each month you will receive one 8ml purse spray of the scent of your choice based on your profile.  The first month, you will receive the case for the perfume and a carrysack for it.

Scentbird has catalogue of over 350 luxury perfumes.  Anything from Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs and Dior to Thierry Mugler, Versace and Burberry.

Your first box will arrive with a sleek black twist up perfume case.  Subsequent months, you will just be sent the inner glass bottle.  Since this is my third month, I just received the 8ml, glass inner spray bottle of Dior Poison.

The case opens with a twist, exposing the sprayer.  Spray your desired amount, it's a nice, fine mist, then twist again to retract the sprayer.  Toss it in your bag and never worry about it accidentally opening, spilling or spraying anywhere it shouldn't.  Genius, if you ask me.  Super easy to switch out perfumes, no fuss at all.

There is an extensive profile for you to fill out if you want suggestions.  You will be asked several questions and then to list three of your favorite perfumes.  Based on all your information, they will choose a selection of pefumes they think you will like based on your answers.
Here's what they've suggested for me based on the types of perfumes I like and the answers I chose.
Since I've never tried any of these and am unlikely to go out and buy a full size, Scentbird offers me the perfect opportunity to enjoy some new perfumes with elements I already prefer without any fuss.
If you are a true adventurer, a lover and connoisseur of all things fragrance, you can go pick-free and get the Perfume of the Month each month.  For March it will be Anna Sui "La Vie De Boheme."  I think this one sounds kind of amazing with berries, pears and peony.  I am going to put this in my queue.

VERDICT:  I don't even pretend to be a perfume expert.  I know what I like and I like it.  That's it. Scentbird promises a 30 day supply in every bottle, spraying twice a day.  Since I don't use that much, only spraying maybe twice a week, these last a long time for me.  I love that it's a sprayer, I love the reasonable price and I love the fact that I can get expensive perfumes I normally wouldn't ever buy for so cheap and in a sprayer!

The one thing I hope they begin to do is offer the ability to acquire more of the cases.  The glass is tough but I switch mine out a lot.  I've got Marc Jacobs Dot and Daisy, too, so far from Scentbird.  I wish I had a case for each of them and I'd love an option in my account to Add a New Case.  Or that kind of thing.

If you'd like to sign up for Scentbird, you can do that right here!  Make sure you use code BITS25 and get 25% off your first month!  This subscription is fun and I think it's worth it!

  1. I like Scentbird a lot, too. My February perfume isn't super strong, but I guess they can't all be winners. And I agree with you, the option to purchase an extra case would be really helpful.
