Bespoke Post Coupon Code and Review for Honed!

Can I just say something? Bespoke Post is amazing.  It's true.  This review is for the Honed box and it is just as awesome as every other Bespoke Post box I've received.  The quality is never lacking.  If you are ever in need of a high quality, luxe gift for a guy (or yourself), you've got to check this company out.
Bespoke Post is a little different than other subscription box companies.  Instead of a mystery box each month, you get to choose your box from a list of those currently available. There are new boxes added each month but you can get ones from past months if they are still available.

The Cost: $45/month

What You Get: Undeniably high quality, unique items themed and curated for men's interests of all types.

I chose Honed for my box this time around.  I've already decided I'm getting Polished next. My husband LOVES Bespoke Post because everything we've got has always been sturdy, high quality, heavy duty and just plain awesome.  It's nice because there's usually something he wants from their list of available boxes.  He enjoys getting a box each month and these are seriously manly boxes, I'm not going to lie.  That doesn't prevent me from getting a box for myself though.  This particular box is one I picked for myself.  I do all the cooking in the house and I wanted this knife.

Ludwig Schiff 8" Chef Knife- This is a hand-forged stainless, high carbon steel knife from Germany.  It is tempered and ground by craftsmen there for great quality and durability. What sold me on this was the full tang.  The metal extends all the way through the handle- solid steel from tip to end.  We have a friend whose father is one of the top three knife sharpeners in the country (he sharpens scalpels that cut through bone like butter- he's amazing) and he gave us a set of hand sharpened knives for our wedding.  I actually have a custom mini-chef knife that he gave me as a joke because I'm tiny.  I love it.
Anyway, I say all that because he says you should always buy a knife with a full tang.  He also talks a lot about carbon steel and the types of steel that should be used for certain knives.  I tried to find out the amount of carbon in this knife but there's been no response from Ludwig Schiff yet.  Bummer.
This is the photo from the Bespoke Post website.  It's pretty hard to take a photo of a knife, I must say!  This knife sells for a whopping $80 if you were to buy it on it's own.  Instead you can get it in a Bespoke Post box for $45 and get other goodies as well!
Also included in this box is a Chef's Towel for cleaning and a hard, black plastic Blade-Saver for those without knife blocks.  I think the inclusion of the blade saver is a great idea because if you need to keep it in a drawer, you won't be slicing your fingers accidentally while reaching for the pizza cutter or something.  Plus, I'm always loving getting more kitchen towels and this one is really thick and absorbent.  Absorbent is good.  Sometimes I get hand towels and they don't suck water up at all. Know what I mean?  But this one is a good one and I'll probably end up using it more than the knife!

I should also mention that the information card included in the box gives some tips on how to hold your knife (fingers curled in a "claw" grip) and how to chop based on what you're cutting up. They've always got good information explaining the product and little tips in each box.

VERDICT:  Love it.  Really.  I never have any complaints with Bespoke Post.  You get to pick your box so you know what you're getting into when you sign up.  If you forget to make your choice, they'll pick one of the new boxes for you and then you'll be surprised but you don't need to be if you don't want to.  I'm really excited about my new knife.  I actually wish I could run over to my friends dads house and ask him to tell me what kind of steel it is.  He'd know.  He knows everything about knives and knife brands.  My other knives need sharpening, maybe I should.

If you would like to sign up for Bespoke Post, you can do that here.  You do need to make an account with your email address to get access to the site which is annoying but it's worth it. Especially if you really want to send something amazing to yourself or some lucky guy.

When you sign up make sure to use code JOIN15 and you will receive 15% off your order! It expires at the end of March so you have plenty of time to decide.

  1. I have knife envy! Their foodie-type boxes always catch my eye, even though I'm a lady. This seems well, well worth the $45.

    1. Every box I've received from them has been worth it. I gave two of them for gifts over Christmas that got raves both when I gave them and later on after they'd got some use. :D
