Treatsie March 2015 Box is So Full of Goodness!

Treatsie sends boxes of sweets and desserts to your mailbox every month.  They tend to send unique, small batch products from independent and small businesses so most things are totally new with every box.  The second I opened this March 2015 box, I knew it might be the best Treatsie box I’ve ever received.

I’ve received both tasty and terrible (to me) in some of my Treatsie boxes.  I don’t subscribe regularly to these but that’s mainly because I just can’t eat that many sweets.  I’m not truly a dessert person.  I’m a salty snacks kind of girl.  That doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy the occasional slab of dark chocolate, though.

The Cost: $19.95/month ($15.95 plus $4.95 shipping)

What You Get: Every month, you get a box of of amazing sweets from 3 of the best small-batch sweets vendors in the country. The vendors change every month and each box has a retail value of $20 – $25 before shipping.

These macaroons are half dipped in milk chocolate and they are unreally delicious. I already ate two.  I’m looking at the other two.  They are calling my name.  Wait. Screaming it.  Must.Resist….  Coconut is so delicious.
Value: $8

Zingerman’s Candy “What the Fudge?” Bar–  This is layers of milk chocolate fudge, muscovado brown sugar caramel and malted milk cream fondant. This tastes… a little strange.  Actually, it kind of reminds me of a 3Musketeers bar but with caramel added.  It’s incredibly sweet so one bite was enough for awhile.
Value:$6

Sticky Toffee Pudding Co. Millionaire Shortbread– This… is nomalicious.  It’s crunchy browned shortbread with chewy caramel and topped with dark chocolate.  There’s also some smoked hickory sea salt somewhere.  I think that I like all of it except the salt.  Sadly, the salt is embedded in the shortbread, which is the most perfect texture ever.  I think I’m going to chop off the shortbread part so I don’t get that salty taste that ruins the flavors of the rest of it. Hm.
Value: $3.50

Quin Candy Fruity Lollipop Assortment– These candies are made with real bits of fruit!  Theres cherry, lemon, strawberry and tangerine.  I ate the lemon one already and it was very authentically lemon flavored. Yum!
Value: $4

VERDICT: Normally, I think Treatsie is a little too far on the expensive side but I used a coupon for this one which make it only $11.  With that being said, I think this particular box is so great that it might have been worth it at full price.  I like candy and sweets but not so much that I want to pay $20 a month for them but Treatsie makes that decision harder than I’d like.  They always have such interesting stuff.  I used to feel that they were not varied enough but this box is pretty perfect. Four different brands and several different types of chocolates, candies and sweets makes for a great experience.
