Birchbox April 2015 Review ~ A Collaboration with Rifle Paper Co.

This April 2015 Birchbox is a collaboration with Rifle Paper Co. and I think I’ll be keeping this box forever. I absolutely love Rifle Paper Co. designs and have been collecting them whenever I have the chance.
Just look at the gorgeous box! You can see why I want to keep it. I wish every box looked like this. Or maybe not because then I would have a million boxes because I’d never want to recycle them.

The Cost: $10/month

What You Get: Five samples and sometimes full size items, including everything from makeup and skin care to non beauty essentials like candles and tea. Plus a really great points program.

Harvey Prince Hello Body Butter– Now I really like Harvey Prince’s Hello perfume but I’m not too big on body butter. Plus I’m using my Tree Hut one from Glossybox and it makes me happy. However, I know one person who loves Harvey Prince and probably loves body butter. She might want this. *waves*

LA Fresh Instant Body Soother Wipes-These eco-friendly body wipes soften skin and have a tingly cool scent thanks to an infusion of peppermint oil. I love the minty smell but I’m not sure about the whole body wipe thing. I mean… maybe? I’m assuming these are to wipe your body with but I’m pretty sure they’ll just become minty fresh hand wipes for me.
Beaver Professional Hydro Nutritive Moisturizing Shampoo-This mild cleanser uses moisturizing avocado oil and aloe vera extracts to repair and rebuild hair, leaving it smoother, softer and shinier.

Beaver Hydro Nutritive Repairing Conditioner
deeply nourishes and strengthens dry, frizzy, or damaged hair, leaving it softer, smoother, and healthier looking.

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain– I chose this specific product for my box when they sent out the email so I knew I would get one thing I wanted at least. This is specially formulated to adjust to your body’s unique chemistry to create a customized, ultra-flattering hue.
I don’t know about all that but I love this on my lips but not so much my cheeks. Plus, I have my favorite blush already and I don’t deviate.

VERDICT: Birchbox, what are you doing to me?! Enough with the shampoos and conditioners already!! I hate them! Maybe I need to change my profile and say I’m bald. So the crappy thing is that half my box are things I’m predisposed to hate. That’s not Birchbox’ fault, obviously, but it makes for a dud box for me. However, I really do love the Jane Iredale Lip Stain so at least there’s something good. And the box, of course, which is gorgeous.

I did splurge a little and used my Birchbox points to snag some goodies in their shop.
I got the Alhambra by Rosanna Mini Tray and an Illume candle in Tonka Noir. That’s the same scent from my Sample Society box. I love it. In my Mystery Pack I got Whish Shave Cream and a Coastal Scents Mini Palette in Ballerina. Plus the Mighty Leaf tea packs they’ve been including in orders for awhile now.

The points is what keeps me subscribed to Birchbox. If you review all your items you can get 50 to 60 points per box. Fifty points is $5 and their shop has an extensive inventory of really nice products. So make sure you are reviewing each month!

If you would like to sign up for Birchbox, you can do that right here. I’m not sure if there are any working codes but you can try GAP10 to get 100 points ($10) added to your account.
