Since I'm not a man, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I mean I don't really deal much in manly accessories. Usually my husband just gets his own. Okay, that's not true. I do have a slight obsession with picking out ties for him. I love ties. Luckily, he loves them, too, so he always likes getting what I pick out.
The Cost: $29/month
What You Get: You will receive 4-5 men's goods and accessories each month.
First up and most colorful, are two pairs of socks. I'm not sure the brand since it wasn't specified and there was no information card included. My husband was horrified by the polka dot socks so I've appropriated those. I don't have a problem with polka dots.
The argyle (right?) socks were more well received and went into his sock drawer. He likes interesting socks but apparently not super flamboyant ones with dots all over.
Also included are a flower lapel pin and collar stays. We are always happy to have more collar stays and I was really glad to see them in the box. I think they are a detail that gets left out a lot. My husband always uses collar stays. He likes a nice sharp look with his collars and these keep them from curling or wrinkling.
The lapel pin would have gone over a little better if it was a more subtle color. I just wish it was a little more coordinated with the other colors in the box. I'm not saying I'm a style queen but if it had matched the included tie a little more appropriately, my husband would have been more likely to use it. Or at least I would be telling him he was going to wear it. Not that that sort of thing always works but I try.
VERDICT: I think that for what you get, the $29/month Dapper Box price point is good. Two pairs of patterned socks, a silk tie and some extras like collar stays and a lapel pin isn't bad in my opinion. What I would like to see is a choice. A choice between Classic colors and patterns and maybe a Bold/Adventurous type box. I think that would allow for personalities and dress habits to be taken into consideration a little better. This is a new company and I believe they are still in their Beta testing mode so hopefully they might be able to incorporate something like that in the future.
If you would like to sign up for DapperBox, you can do that right here. Use code BANDB and get your first box for $10 off. For that price, this is definitely worth it and will give you a better idea of what you can receive.
*I received this box complimentary for review purposes. No compensation was received. Affiliate links were used in this post. All opinions are unequivocally mine.
