Glossybox April 2015 Pop Art Box Review and Coupon Codes

I really like the art on the April 2015 Glossybox. I almost ordered another box just so I could have two of them! I realized that was sort of silly and I didn't do it. I got the yellow background and I was secretly hoping for the blue or pink but this is still awesome. Also, please note my tulips (yes, those are all tulips) that I brought in from my garden. It's that time of year!
Glossybox is one of the better beauty subscriptions out there (in my opinion). I think they cater to a more mature audience than Ipsy does. I say that mainly because Glossybox tends to include more anti-aging goodies in their boxes. Which is fine with me.

The Cost: $21/month.

What You Get: Five luxury deluxe sized beauty essentials, from both well-known and emerging brands, delivered to your door each month.

Marrakesh Split End Mender- This offers long lasting frizz control with a blend of argan oil, hemp seed oil and hydrolyzed wheat protein. Obviously, nothing is actually going to fix split ends (except cutting them off) because hair is dead and can't be "repaired." However, I'm not above coating my hair in something that makes my split ends look better when I'm too lazy to get a hair cut.
Value: $5.99

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Stained Gloss- I thought this was the lip tar but it's actually a gloss. Bright and transluscent, this has a semi-sheer, high shine gloss. The color I received is Meta and it's an orangey red. Or maybe a reddish orange. Either way, it's not my color at all. I'll try to swap for a better one since this seems interesting and I like shiny gloss!
Value: $18
Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum-7ml- This product was one of the spoilers I saw for this box. I actually like it so I'm glad to have more. While I don't know if it is actually working on dark spots, it's a nice light serum, it smooths on and sinks in easily. It has a light scent that isn't bothersome.

Aerin Waterlily Sun Eau de Parfum Spray-9ml- This is a newly released, fresh, floral blend with bergamot and greens with waterlily, jasmine and musk. It's a little too flowery for me. It definitely smells springy and like the outdoors, though. Maybe it makes me think of old ladies. Maybe.
Value: $17
Julep Gel Eye Glider- I really like Julep's Eye Gliders. I have a black and a navy already. They really do go on really smoothly with nice pigmentation and it stays on your eye instead of mysteriously disappearing over the course of the day. This particular one is a Smokey Taupe Shimmer. I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of this particular color but the shimmer part has me intrigued. My other ones are just... colored. Hm.
Value: $16
ThursdayFriday x Glossybox Pouch- ThursdayFriday collaborated with Glossybox to come up with this pop art pouch. It's made of canvas and has a gold zipper. Inside the pouch is a gift card with a mystery discount code on it. Mine was 50% off. I feel like their stuff is over priced so I didn't use it.
Value: $45

VERDICT: I think my favorite part of this Glossybox was the box itself. That's kind of sad. Isn't it? I think if the color of the Obsessive Compulsive Gloss was different, I'd love this box more. The value is actually pretty incredible and the makeup pouch (no matter how ridiculously priced) is actually a really wonderful thing to get in a box like this. I mean, $21 for over $60 worth of stuffs? Yep, good deal. This box also has a really great product spread, too. A little makeup, a little skincare, a little hair care, body care and a bonus pouch. Very well done, Glossybox. Well done!

If you would like to sign up for Glossybox, you can do that right here. Make sure to use a coupon code at checkout! You can see if ARDENTEYES is still working (it's while supplies last) to get a free full size eyeliner or you can use THUFRI10 to get 10% off your subscription.

Make sure to activate your Ebates if you make a purchase on because you'll get $2.75 back.  If you don't use Ebates and you shop online a lot (like me), you should check it out.

  1. Great recap! I always enjoy reading your point of view. My box arrived last night and it looks so pretty, all put together, that I haven't dove in yet (but will do so as soon as I get home today for that spiffy liner) =^ - ^=

    1. Aww, thank you! Yes, definitely try the liner. I know that several color variations have popped up so not everyone gets a sparkle taupe. While Julep is mainly known for their polish, I've actually liked their liner and their lip crayons (but not much else). :D

  2. I got Meta lip tar as well, and used a Q-tip to apply, but mine was a hot pink... weird!

    1. Hmm... maybe it is hot pink and just looks like a gross red-orange in the tube? What did you think of the hot pink? Now I'm tempted to crack mine open...

  3. Thank you for the code last month for the Model and Co fiber lash mascara. I got 2 boxes- one has the mascara, an olive eyeliner and the pretty dark rose lip gloss. The other box is a dud- taupe shimmer eyeliner and the same orange lip gloss you got. The pouches and the mascara by themselves make the boxes worth the price, IMO.:).

    1. Oh, good! At least you got one of the good colors of lip gloss! Let me know how it works out for you. I just noticed that this OCC gloss didn't come with a little brush when the last one I got (from Glossybox even!) did. From my recollection, when it says lip "stain" it really does stain, so watch out! Although this is a different formulation so maybe it's not so bad?
I like the FiberLash Mascara. It really made my lashes long, even though it didn't really make them look super natural. I used it up so I must have liked it :)
There's a website called eDivv, that's a swapping website. I just joined up so I don't know everything about it but you can check it out if you think you might have things you'd want to swap. Like Taupe Eyeliner and Orange Lip Gloss. :D

  4. Lovely box, though I really don't like OCC. I actually have OCD and it's a teeny bit irritating that companies are cashing in on a disorder that affects my life so much (there was an OCD chopping board over here a few years ago).
I wish our Glossyboxes were like yours, you seem to get a better selection.
