Glossybox April 2015 Pop Art Box Review and Coupon Codes

I really like the art on the April 2015 Glossybox. I almost ordered another box just so I could have two of them! I realized that was sort of silly and I didn’t do it. I got the yellow background and I was secretly hoping for the blue or pink but this is still awesome. Also, please note my tulips (yes, those are all tulips) that I brought in from my garden. It’s that time of year!

Glossybox is one of the better beauty subscriptions out there (in my opinion). I think they cater to a more mature audience than Ipsy does. I say that mainly because Glossybox tends to include more anti-aging goodies in their boxes. Which is fine with me.

The Cost: $21/month.

What You Get: Five luxury deluxe sized beauty essentials, from both well-known and emerging brands, delivered to your door each month.

Marrakesh Split End Mender– This offers long lasting frizz control with a blend of argan oil, hemp seed oil and hydrolyzed wheat protein. Obviously, nothing is actually going to fix split ends (except cutting them off) because hair is dead and can’t be “repaired.” However, I’m not above coating my hair in something that makes my split ends look better when I’m too lazy to get a hair cut.
Value: $5.99
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Stained Gloss– I thought this was the lip tar but it’s actually a gloss. Bright and transluscent, this has a semi-sheer, high shine gloss. The color I received is Meta and it’s an orangey red. Or maybe a reddish orange. Either way, it’s not my color at all. I’ll try to swap for a better one since this seems interesting and I like shiny gloss!
Value: $18

Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum-7ml- This product was one of the spoilers I saw for this box. I actually like it so I’m glad to have more. While I don’t know if it is actually working on dark spots, it’s a nice light serum, it smooths on and sinks in easily. It has a light scent that isn’t bothersome.
Aerin Waterlily Sun Eau de Parfum Spray-9ml- This is a newly released, fresh, floral blend with bergamot and greens with waterlily, jasmine and musk. It’s a little too flowery for me. It definitely smells springy and like the outdoors, though. Maybe it makes me think of old ladies. Maybe.
Value: $17
Julep Gel Eye Glider– I really like Julep’s Eye Gliders. I have a black and a navy already. They really do go on really smoothly with nice pigmentation and it stays on your eye instead of mysteriously disappearing over the course of the day. This particular one is a Smokey Taupe Shimmer. I’m not sure how much use I’ll get out of this particular color but the shimmer part has me intrigued. My other ones are just… colored. Hm.
Value: $16
ThursdayFriday x Glossybox Pouch– ThursdayFriday collaborated with Glossybox to come up with this pop art pouch. It’s made of canvas and has a gold zipper. Inside the pouch is a gift card with a mystery discount code on it. Mine was 50% off. I feel like their stuff is over priced so I didn’t use it.
Value: $45
VERDICT: I think my favorite part of this Glossybox was the box itself. That’s kind of sad. Isn’t it? I think if the color of the Obsessive Compulsive Gloss was different, I’d love this box more. The value is actually pretty incredible and the makeup pouch (no matter how ridiculously priced) is actually a really wonderful thing to get in a box like this. I mean, $21 for over $60 worth of stuffs? Yep, good deal. This box also has a really great product spread, too. A little makeup, a little skincare, a little hair care, body care and a bonus pouch. Very well done, Glossybox. Well done!
