Ipsy April 2015 Beautifully Bohemian Box Review

Ipsy April 2015 has a theme of Beautifully Bohemian and I think most of us were drooling more over the jewelry in the photos than the actual products. Most of the products in the sneak peeks were things I would like to have so I expected this bag to be pretty awesome because of that. Was I disappointed?

Ipsy sends a random assortment of products each month.  The variations are not as wide as they are for Birchbox but there are usually about twenty items available each month and you'll get five of them.

The ten dollar price point is one of the most attractive features of this subscription, along with the fact that you get a cute little makeup bag with each shipment.

The Cost: $10/month.

What You Get: Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products.

Hikari Cosmetics Blush- This is a huge, full size blush! I received the color "Tango." I'm pretty impressed with the size but because I have a blush I'm already in love with I won't end up using this. I think pretty much every blush I've received since October has gone to the swap pile. I heart my current blush so much.
TheBalm Nude Dude Eyeshadow Single in Fit- Darn. I was hoping for Flirty. The Fit is a shimmery Bronze which I'm less likely to use. I'm not super adventurous when it comes to eye makeup. Probably because I have tiny pea eyes and there's no reason to draw attention to them. :D TheBalm is a brand I like and I own a few things by them, including the Bahama Mama bronzer, so I may just end up using this anyway.

Starlooks Satin Finish Lip Gloss- Ah, one more product for my lipgloss stash! There's literally no way I will be able to use all my lip products but that doesn't stop me from loving each and every one. This color is Cuddle which is a sort of satiny bronze. Totally usable!
Olive Natural Beauty Lip Balm- I love this because I'm a lip balm junkie. This one uses oats and clover honey along with beeswax and olive oil for the softest lips ever. Yum!

Mica Beauty Eye Primer- I really feel like I got this before... Wait. That was in a Boxycharm, not an Ipsy bag. I actually really like it but this is a fairly big pot and my first one is barely dented. I use it under my eyes like a corrector, too, when I'm feeling lazy.

VERDICT: While this was not as exciting as I was hoping for, there were definitely products that I will use and enjoy which is good. Sometimes an entire bag can be a dud and that's no fun at all. I'm actually putting Ipsy on the chopping block just because I have so much stuff. I've got to cut back on the madness somehow! I'm sure I'll sign back up again but for a few months I'm going to go Ipsy-free. Of course, I say that but we will see if I actually do it. I've been subscribed for an entire year now, a break may be in order.

If you want to get your own super cute makeup bag with an array of beauty products in it, you can sign up for Ipsy here! You may have a wait of a month or two but you can occasionally skip the wait list. Read about that here.

What did you get in your Ipsy bag? Have you been enjoying them?

  1. I've been with Ipsy since they were the other brand name ( 2012 is when they started, I think).
This may be my top Ipsy Glam Bag ever as far as the products go , and the bag is also cute.
I got what you got except I got the Hey Honey facial serum and the Jor'el Parker
Femina perfume instead of the lip balm and eye primer which you got.

I especially love the blush. Oh, I really like it all. I think this is probably the highest value Glam Bag I've ever gotten. Every product is really deluxe. Hope this trend continues. :)

    1. You are faithful! I rarely calculate my Ipsy values, mainly because they're usually always worth more than the $10 I paid. I've had a couple good ones that went over the $40 mark that really flabbergasted me. I just don't use enough of the makeup and I'm trying to cut back on my clutter (you would die if you saw my office! I mean, it's a beauty product paradise but OMG, it's too much!). Once everything is back under control, I'm pretty sure Ipsy is going to sneak back onto my sub list. :P
