BareBlissBox April 2015 Review

Bare Bliss Box is a beauty subscription that focuses on natural and organic products. In all honesty, it's not my favorite box for these kinds of items but it's really hard to top Kloverbox no matter what. I purchased a six month subscription to Bare Bliss Box on Gilt City so my boxes were very inexpensive but for the regular price, I don't really recommend them because the sizes included tend to be quite small.

The Cost: $19.99/month

What You Get: A carefully curated box of 4-5 organic, non-toxic, all-natural and cruelty free skincare and beauty products.

SmartAsh Teeth Whitener and Detoxifier- You can use this to brush your teeth with this and it will work. As for "detoxing" your teeth.... not so much, unless by "detoxing" you mean cleaning.

Au Naturale Cream Eye Shadow in Addiction- This is a shimmery dark gold eye shadow stick that is non-toxic, organic and vegan. It's not really a color I would ever use so I'll pass this on. I do like the size of this item and it might be the best item in the box.
Sally B's Skin Yummies Tamanu Luxury Organic Facial Cleanser- This is a 95% organic facial cleanser that leaves your skin soft and clean.

Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Lotion- My favorite thing! A travel size lotion made with pomegranate seed oil, apricot kernel oil and shea butter.
Sapothecary Lavender with Flowers Handmade Soap- This small soap has a very potent lavender scent so if you are a lavender lover, you're going to enjoy this. It's about .75oz and is pretty perfect for travel.

VERDICT: I just can't get on board with loving Bare Bliss Box. Maybe it's because my first two boxes were different than everyone else's as a result of buying a Gilt City voucher. Maybe it's because when compared to Kloverbox (which is only $5 more) the sizes are tiny. Really this box has a nice selection of items and is probably the best one I've received so far so I must have an irrational bias of some sort. But I just do not thing that this box is worth $20 no matter which way I look at it.

However, if you love natural products and are desperately looking for new brands, this could be what you're looking for. You can sign up at I have noticed that a lot of products are handmade and found on Etsy so you could do a little hunt for those kinds of things, too.

  1. I think this is the best of the Gilt City boxes I've seen from them, but I agree with you--there are other natural/organic boxes that do it much better.
