Birchbox Man June 2015 Review and Coupon Codes!

Birchbox Man has not thrilled me. This month was better than my last two months in terms of sample sizes, though, so I'm happy. The issue now is that my husband is less likely to go through his samples as fast as I would. So I think I will be cancelling for at least a few months until he catches up. He is NOT the type to stockpile samples like I do and I don't really want to be responsible for keeping all his stuff or making sure he uses it.

The best thing about Birchbox Man is the Lifestyle Selection that you get to make each month. It does tend to pay for the box and this month's was pretty nice.

The Cost: $20/month

What You Get: Each box includes 3-4 grooming samples, plus a stylish accessory or gadget.

Baxter of California Grooming Lotion- A conditioning cream for your hair that leaves a subtle shine with a light hold. Would that make it kind of like a mousse? Seems like it. I don't really know. DH is worried his hair will be shiny. I tried to explain that this was a good thing and would mean his hair was healthy. He's not buying it.

English Laundry Riviera Eau de Toilette- Hm. I got a crappy English Laundry sample in my last box, too. Not a perfume sample but still.  I'd like some brand variation here. This is a citrusy green cologne. It smells really good and its fairly light. DH said he'd wear it so that's good.
Billy Jealousy LiquidSand Exfoliating Facial Cleanser- Is Billy Jealousy a staple in Birchbox Man? Because I feel like he's been in every box I've gotten. I'm too lazy to check but I'm pretty sure I'm right. This one, though, is going to be used. DH loves exfoliating cleansers. Now he won't have to steal mine.

Davines SU Hair & Body Wash- Okay, so I'M going to use this one! It's citrusy and is for your hair and skin. I wonder how good it is for hair. Maybe it's like a clarifying shampoo or something. I'll find out.
Corter Leather Bottlehook- This is an accessory with a brass hook, copper key ring and a leather tab. It's to hook on your belt loop and then use to crack open a beer. It's billed as an all-American accessory but I've never heard of it before so... This actually is pretty cool. I mean the "if found" thing is a little weird but it does look cool. DH said he could use this in the summer. Why only the summer? Because he just got a Pleepleus Drinking Jacket from Zane Lamprey. And if you've never watched Three Sheets, you need to. Or Drinking Made Easy. Although I like Three Sheets better. If you've already watched Zane and you didn't know about the Drinking Jacket, it was a Kickstarter thing and you need to google it.
Value: $36

VERDICT: I'm annoyed by Birchbox Man. I need some brand variation. I like the lifestyle goody that we get to choose each month but everything else kinda sucks. Or maybe it's just that my husband isn't enthused by most of this stuff? It's not like it's outrageously expensive but at this point it's not really worth it because DH won't use these things fast enough. I'm not sure what I was expecting and maybe that's my problem. I think I was expecting more gadgets and less hair crap. :D

If you think this sounds awesome and you love hair gunk and you want to sign up for Birchbox Man, you can do that right here. Make sure to use a coupon code when you do it! Use BBJETBLUE10 to get 100 points added to your account. That's $10 to spend in their jampacked store.

  1. I agree. I feel like they give out the same types of of products and use the same brands. Some of the gifts are cool, just not something most guys will want every single month! Great review as always!
