GlobeIn May 2015 "Bake" Box and Coupon Code

GlobeIn is more than just a subscription box. The folks curating each box have a dedication to bringing fair trade, handmade products to your attention. They strive to find artisans and companies from all over the globe and ethically source products from direct relationships with them and vetted partner organizations. It's a way to bring the world to your doorstep and support those in earning a living in tough areas.
Each GlobeIn box has a monthly theme. The month of May 2015 has a curated theme of "Bake." Since I'm a fan of cooking, I was looking forward to this box. GlobeIn does a great job of finding such an array of items, I knew it wouldn't be just food in the box and I was right!

The Cost: $35/month

What You Get: A curated box of useful goods and products created by global artisans with heartwarming stories and an impactful social mission.

Palm Leaf Basket- This is made in Mexico by Oaxacan artisans and is woven from discarded palm leaves. Each basket takes about six hours to make. Whoa. I can't even imagine.
Value: $12

Toockie 100% Organic Scrub Cloths- These are handmade in India out of 100% organic cotton. The Toockie project employs women and provides them with a way to earn a living which is pretty awesome. These are wonderfully scrubby looking but I feel like I should display them or something. I know thats silly. Maybe I'll use them as trivets. Then they won't get mangled.
Value: $12
Just Good Chocolate Better World Brownie Mix-A decadent dark chocolate brownie mix that gives back with every bite. Organic, fairly traded. I'm totally making these. I adore brownies. And I'm going to use the coconut oil in them as was suggested to me. Just Good Chocolate donates a portion of their proceeds from each bag to ON THE GROUND, supporting sustainable community development in fair trade farming regions across the world. Learn more at
Value: $13

Kelapo Coconut Oil- Produced on Fair Trade farms in Sri Lanka, coconut oil is good for a LOT of things. Soap, skincare, lip balm... BROWNIES!
Value: $4
Alter Eco Mascobado Cane Sugar- Traditional unrefined sugar retains the essence of the Islang Asukal it came from, with rich flavors that range from delicate caramel and vanilla to malty molasses and marshmallow. And because its untouched by modern refining processes, each grain possesses all the nutrients of the Philippines’ raw native sugar cane.
Value: $6

Big Dipper Waxworks Birthday Candles- Committed to sustainable beekeeping, Big Dipper hand pours all their candles. These are the best looking birthday candles ever. I won't toss these till they're burnt to nubs. Being beeswax, that should last quite a few birthdays. :)
Value: $5
