OuiPlease Vol. 1.3 Breath of Provence Subscription Box Review

OuiPlease sends authentically French products by French designers, companies and makers. It's truly finding France at your doorstep. The box is delivered bi-monthly.  This one was supposed to ship at the end of April but some items got held up in customs so they were sent out late.
The theme for this box is Breath of Provence and so celebrates the region of France where lavender is grown for acres and acres. Every box comes with an Et Voila magazine explaining everything about what is received and little articles about France.

My box had some significant issues. Two items leaked and one was completely missing. I contacted customer service and heard back within a few hours. They'll be sending replacements that should arrive in two weeks.

The Cost: $150/bi-monthly

What You Get: A unique selection of full sized French products. Enjoy a different region of France with every delivery. In addition to all of the hand-selected gifts, your parcel will include the latest issue of our own “Et Voila” magazine. Explore deliciously simple French recipes, exclusive interviews, style tips, lifestyle pieces, and discover the full range of current products that were distributed across America.

Oliv Radiance Elixir- I was really hoping I would get this! I've been really into dry oils since I've been having such a good experience with my oil cleansers and my Jouer Oil that I got my Le Matchbox. This is made with several oils (including olive oil), squalane, vitamin E and green tea leaf extract. It smells very clean and fresh. I can't wait to use it.
Value: $50

Oliv Beauty Oil- It's strange that they would include two oils in the same box. This managed to leak everywhere inside the box, sadly. The box itself is ruined and I had to wash off everything in the box because this leaked so badly. This can be used for both your hair and skin and has olive oil plus a lot of vitamins. I don't know if they are replacing everything exactly but I wouldn't mind not getting this one.
Value: $35
La Fare 1789 Succulent Foot Cream- Made with Rosemary, Aloe Vera and sunflower oil. I don't really care for the scent of rosemary unless its in food. I'll pass this along to someone else.
Value: $20

Coeur de Cigale Shower Gel- This is a brand authentic to Provence. They use Provencal honey and orange blossom with sweet almond oil. This shower gel also has melon and smells amazing. You can use it for both your body AND hair. I'm totally doing that.
Value: $25
Rose et Marius Perfumed Soap from Provence- This is a beautifully imprinted soap. Unfortunately,  I hate the smell of this particular one. Too soapy and perfumy. But it's so pretttty! Oh, haha! I just read the booklet and the scent is Flowery Fragrance. It's supposed to smell like roses but I'm not feeling it.
Value: $15

Panier Des Sens Hand Cream Lemon- This brand is also from Provence and specializes in fragrance, candles and bath and body products. This hand cream is made with sustainable and environment-friendly ingredients. It's made with 20% shea butter, lemon and artemisia. I got the Verbena version in my Mothers Day Box.
Value: $15
La Fare Volumizing and Shining Shampoo- I'm never really a fan of hair products but this at least is volumizing. Just what I need. Unfortunately it leaked during transit and was so gross and sticky when I picked it up. It smells good, though. This is made with honey and aloe vera.
Value: $25

Plantes et Parfums Ventoux Collection Provence Lavender Flower Sachet- Fresh lavender, right from Provence. My lavender allergy tried to kill me opening this box. Luckily, I was prepared. This was immediately removed from my presence after this photo. I love the ceramic charm! My MIL will appreciate this.
Value: $15
L'Epicerie de Provence Sweets Honey from Provence- I was so excited about these. Honey drops! But unfortunately they weren't very good and didn't taste much like honey. The jar and packaging is cute though! I'm going to use it for flowers once it's empty.
Value: $15
Sothys Intense Brown Eye Pencil- This is a twist up brown eye pencil. It has a sharpener and a smudger on the opposite end. These makeup items were not included in the Et Voila booklet which makes me wonder if they were used as filler for the items that didn't make it from France. Usually everything in the box is listed in the booklet.
Value: $15

Sothys Satiny Lipstick in 222 Orange Saint-Paul- This is gorgeous! It comes in a matte black square container inside a black velvety pouch embossed with the Sothys logo. So luxe.
It also has Sothys imprinted on the lipstick itself. The lipstick is a soft orange color. I'm not into orange so this will be passed to someone else but if this was pretty much any other color I would be keeping it. The packaging is amazing!
Value: $30

VERDICT: OuiPlease is a very luxe box. I was disappointed to have one missing item and then so much leakage. The fact that they're going to make it right helps, though. I think this particular box was plagued with issues and it wasn't just me. This box was pretty beauty heavy and I really wish there were more home items. And I can't like, I was hoping for a clutch. :D But that's okay. I paid $86 for this box and I do think it was worth it. Or it will be once I get my replacements. Hopefully that doesn't take long. I really want OuiPlease to succeed. I love what they're doing.

If you'd like to sign up for OuiPlease, you can do that here on their website. Everything about this box is wonderfully French so they've really kept with the main focus. I think it's what makes this subscription so fun.

The theme for the next box is "Escape to the French Riviera." Whee!
