Something Snacks May 2015 Review and Coupon Code

Something Snacks is a snack subscription that sends both familiar and unfamiliar snacks. So if you're like me and you're only a little adventurous this could be what you are looking for. I like to be able to eat some of what I get and not just taste everything and be horrified by how awful it all is. Hah!

The Cost: $13/month

What You Get: Each box will contain 7 new and tasty, hand selected snacks. You can expect something familiar and something more out of the ordinary.

Be-Bop Lemon Almond Biscotti- I'm not a fan of biscotti so I gave this to my mom. This brand of biscotti has been in Something Snacks before. I hope it doesn't become a habit.

Kasugai Mango Gummy- I love mangoes! I haven't opened and tried these yet because I'm already feeling guilty for eating the whole bag of chocolate chip cookies. I want to, though!

Home Free Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies- I like this brand, they make really tasty cookies. These were so delicious I accidentally ate them all before I took the photo. Whoops. But yeah, tasty. Reaaally tasty. Highly recommend. :D
Ulker Rulokat Wafer Rolls with Hazelnut- These are a treat from Turkey. I like wafers but I don't like Hazelnut so I gave these to my mom, too. She was pretty happy.

EarthSource Organics Righteously Raw Brownie Mouthful- That means it's not a brownie at all and I can't tell you how sad that made me. Well, actually the chocolate chip cookies made up for it but still. this is NOT a brownie. It's... cocoa powder and raisins. Basically. In other words, gross. Especially because I hate raisins.
Sensible Portions Veggie Chips in Sea Salt- I gave these to my husband and he snarfed them right down. He loves this kind of thing. I prefer my chips to be potato. Actually that's not true. I like rice and bean chips. And tortilla chips. But you know what I mean.

Food Should Taste Good Cheddar Tortilla Chips- I really like these chips, too. Forget what I said about potatoes. This brand has some excellent chips and my favorites are the Everything flavor.

VERDICT: I rarely expect to like all my snacks because I'm a pretty picky eater. But that doesn't mean I don't like getting these boxes. I'm a snacker so boxes like these work really well for me. I can get a little bag of chocolate chip cookies (and eat them all!) and be perfectly happy. If I go to the store and buy a whole box of the same cookies, I'll eat the same amount and then the whole rest of the box will get stale and never eaten. Does this even make sense? I'm weird, I know. Basically, little portions make me happy but I need a lot of variety (even though I'm picky).

So, I like snack boxes! And Something Snacks sends things that I don't tend to find in other boxes so it's fun. Something Snacks is sort of like the Turtle in the Turtle and the Hare race story. They aren't flashy but they get the job done.

If you want to try Something Snacks, you can sign up here. Make sure to use code TRY3NOW to get $3 off your box (that means your first box is $10). Or you can live vicariously through my reviews since I bought a year. :D

  1. OMG, the lemon biscotti was the best thing in the box!! I'm so sorry you don't like biscotti.. although this didn't taste like biscotti to me at all. It was flaky pastry with a very delicious lemon frosting that was very thick and decadent.
I liked Something Snacks this month so very much. :)

The " box of tragedy" was BoCandy this month. Mine arrived yesterday with a box of melted chocolate. I filed a PayPal complaint because the box isn't marked " Food" or " Perishable" or " Fragile" anywhere and the owner actually said in the refund process that " We just thought that people wouldn't buy the box when it's hot where they live".
Um, it's late May and this is a USA company. Isn't it expected that it's " very warm" to hot weather almost everywhere now?
I cancelled my subscription to BoCandy because if they are that clueless, then I don't trust them with the snacks I eat.

    1. That... is awfully strange. It's not hot where I live. However, the box would have to go through places that are hot so his rationale makes no sense. They just shouldn't be sending chocolate. That's ridiculous!
