New Beauty Test Tube June 2015 Review and 30% Off Box Offer

New Beauty Test Tube is a bi-monthly subscription that I look forward to getting. It tends to have products you don't get in other boxes of this type and it usually has full size items. You never know what kinds of beauty products you'll, get but they do send some weird stuff from time to time. Like the last tube had eyelid stickers.
While it is shipped in a box, it really does come in a tube, too! This month, New Beauty chose three "Insiders" to feature and got their comments about items in the box. One of them is subscription box queen, Liz from My Subscription Addiction. She's the one that got me hooked on subscription boxes so it was fun to see her featured.

The Cost: $29.99 every two months plus shipping. Get 30% off with this link!

What You Get:  A carefully curated selection of beauty must haves six times a year.  You will receive a TestTube filled with 7 or more deluxe and full-size products from popular beauty brands.

Ojon Rare Blend Protecting Treatment- This is a leave in conditioner for use before your styling tools. It has seven different kinds of oils including Ojon. It's also got ginseng, lemongrass and honey. This treatment will help hydrate, condition, detangle along with minimizing heat damage. One more thing I'm likely not to use. What's with all the oil these days!? :D
Value: $4

BalancedGuru Style Me Roots to Ends Hair Oil- This is a certified organic hair oil. Balanced Guru makes a few of these. This one has sesame and argan oils along with tamanu and pumpkin oils. It has a minty scent which I like but I rarely use hair oils because my hair is so thin and fine it gets weighed down easily.
GrandeLash MD Grande Mascara- I don't think I've ever seen black mascara come in a clear tube before and I like it! I wish they all did this because then I can see exactly what's left. This is a deluxe sample. I haven't tried it yet because I'm already wearing mascara but I love the full, fluffy brush. I don't like those weird rubbery ones that seem to be becoming more popular.

Quikee SuperSmile- So... Remember how I said sometimes New Beauty puts in weird items? Yeah, this is one of them. I don't think it fared well traveling in the heat from Florida to Washington State either, as it appears to have separated. But I tried it anyway. It's kind of a gloppy white and when I applied it to my teeth and rubbed, it just got stuck in between me teeth. Not attractive. But I rub-a-dub-dubed and licked my teeth with my tongue (since that's in the directions) and most of it dissolved. Not all. I did have to swish some water to get all the bits out of my teeth corners.
Did it whiten my teeth? No. Did it clean them? Yes. Squeaky clean. Unfortunately I feel like I didn't really get the full testing power out of this because I think the heat separated the product. :(
It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil- I've recently been really getting into my brows. Mine are fairly thin, short and not very thick. I don't pluck them into shape but I have had them waxed a couple times. They just don't really make a very good arch on their own. However, I've been drawing them a little thicker and longer lately and loving how they look (and having people notice them). I usually use my Clinique SuperFine Brow pencil and I don't think I'll ever give it up because the one I use is the exact color of my eyebrows.
This pencil has an oval shape to it which isn't my favorite but it is a nice color for my brows and I love the brush on the opposite end. So handy to have them both in one place. I can absolutely see using this often and I so like how the application went. My brows looks great.
Value: $24
Wen Cleansing Conditioner- I've heard a lot about Wen but have never used it before. I know many people swear by this brand. This is a 5-in-1 formular that takes the place of your shampoo, conditioner, detangler, etc. It's made with herbs and natural ingredients and none of the harsh detergents that can be found in regular shampoos. I received Fig.
The directions say that you need to use 20-30 pumps of product for one use. I hope that doesn't mean it doesn't foam. I desperately need my shampoos to lather because my hair is so long.  And my hair is so long I probably would need more than 30 pumps which means this 6oz bottle probably has about five uses in it. /sigh This has a pretty light scent and is faintly herbal smelling.
Value: $6

Glamglow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment- Honestly, for the price of Glamglow you can get something just as good or even better without the irritating oils and perfumes. This is a decent clay mask but I just can't get over the ridiculous price.
Value: $20
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Cleanser- This is formulated for oily and combination skin. It's a foamy gel with tea tree oil, willow bark extract and salicylic acid. Since I've been having issues with dryness, I'm going to hold off on it but I love the brand and the fact that this is full size.
Value: $35

VERDICT: While I do enjoy New Beauty Test Tube, this box was way too hair heavy for me. And if I'm going to spend $35 or so on a box, I don't want three different kinds of hair products, two of which do the same thing! I feel like I had this problem with another Tube. The value is definitely there, though. This box is worth over $100 in retail values but I still wish this box was more useful to me personally. I do have to admit that I was considering purchasing the It Cosmetics Brow Power so this box meant I didn't have to do that. So it's almost like I bought it but also got a ton of other stuff for free. Haha! Anything to justify my habits. ;)

If you would like to try New Beauty Test Tube, get 30% off your first box with this link. It's the only current deal that are running that I'm aware of. So your first box will be just under $30. I definitely think it's worth a try at that price.
