Meikoko BCdation July 2015 Kbeauty Subscription Box Review

The Meikoko BCdation Box is a Korean beauty box that should appeal to almost everyone. It promises full sizes, sheet masks and at least a foil sample of BB or CC cream in each box. So you can get a taste of anything and everything in this very reasonably priced box.

By no means do I consider myself a pro when it comes to kbeauty. However, I've spent quite a bit of time with it over the last year and absolutely appreciate what it has to offer. Many times I prefer my Korean skincare over quality Western brands.

This particular BCdation box has a great variety productwise even if it does heavily feature Etude House. I can't complain about that because Etude House is a cornerstone of kbeauty and everyone has to start somewhere.

The Cost: $16.99/month.

What You Get: Each BCdation box will have 6-7 items each month. There will be 2-3 full sizes, 2-3 deluxe samples, one sheet mask and one BB/CC cream sample.
Happily, each box features an information card explaining everything you are getting and how to use it. I like this new format much better than the old one, too. Clear and concise is always best. And this box has 8 products! Three full size, two masks, a deluxe sample and a foil.

Skinfood Honey Melon Hand Cream- I have some of this already (hey, kbeauty fanatic here!) and love the smell. I've been so dry lately that I've been using pretty much whatever I come across but this one sits on my nightstand so I can sleep with beautiful melon scented dreams. Haha!
Value: $5

Etude House Tear Eye Liner- I received color #4 and I like it. I believe this is for your waterline and/or inner corner of your eye. Since it's glittery, I'm a little concerned about how that works with glitter possibly getting in your eye? I haven't used this before and I'm actually pretty excited about it.
Value: $6

Etude House Soft Touch Lip Liner- I love these! I have one that's a lot darker/more rosy than this and I'll happily use this more brownish one. I've been super happy with them. They glide on smoothly and creamily. Plus I like the fact that you can crank this up and then twist it back down, too. If you don't have one and you have the opportunity to get one, do eeeet!
Value: $4
Etude House Hand Bouquet Rich Butter Hand Mask- I'm so using this. I'm not quite sure how it works but my hands are so dry and ashy. My cuticles want to cry. It's like 96 degrees today and putting my hands in a plastic bag for a period of time is not conducive to staying cool but as soon as the weather cools down, I'm ripping this open. It looks like it's rose scented but there's another kind, too.
Value: $6
Innisfree Olive Real Body Butter- This is a deluxe sample size body butter made with organic olive oil. Innisfree prides itself on using natural ingredients, eco-friendly containers and being cruelty-free. The olive oil line is one of their most popular. I haven't used this before.

Etude House Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask- According to the directions, use a sheet mask after your toner as a special treat. This is all about moisture and it has no alcohol so I'm totally using it. I should probably have a mask on right now because that would definitely cool my face down.
Value: $2

Last but not least is the TonyMoly BCDation BB/CC cream sample. I own and have used this and actually really like it when my face is good and moisturized. It doesn't work too well when my face is on the dry side.

VERDICT: I think this might be my favorite BCdation box! I'd have to go back and check but this box is packed with items I'll use. That always helps. This box is worth over $23 and probably more if you count the fact that buying from USA shops costs more but buying from Korea the initial price is cheap but shipping can kill you. It's probably six of one, half dozen of another. In US shop prices, you're getting almost double the price of the box.
I wish there were more brands represented but this box has a great variety. It's definitely all about staying moisturized and I like that. Even though there are two hand products, a hand mask is fun and unusual so I'm glad of the inclusion.

If you'd like to sign up for the Meikoko BCdation Box, you can do so here.

Initially, I think the BCdation box was going to focus more heavily on the BB and CC creams but after accepting feedback, moved away from that premise. Skintones of kbeauty lovers vary significantly so it would be hard to send a large size every month that alienated part of their customers. It's nice that they're responsive to the community.

What do you think of this box?

  1. Humm it sounds like a good box but the only thing that worries me a bit it's the Etude House overload.

    1. That's the only drawback of the box. But I did discover that the sheet masks were random and I just happened to get an Etude House one so it's not quite as drastic.
