The 3B Box July 2015 Review ~ An Asian Beauty Subscription

The July 2015 3B Box has two full size items and two travel minis. If there was a theme it would be "Skinfood" because it's the only brand represented. If you want a good idea of the range Skinfood has, here is your opportunity.

If you want to dabble in Asian beauty, this is a great way to do it. I've been pleased with the products they've been sending. Very popular products and brands. If you are already a kbeauty fanatic, you probably will have tried (or have) many of the things that are sent but for those just dipping their toe in the waters of Asian beauty and skincare, The 3B Box is where it's at!

The Cost: $12/month

What You Get: Four to five deluxe size Asian beauty samples from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

Skinfood Rice Wash Off Mask Pack- This is a 100g, full size mask. I am so impressed! Considering this one product is almost worth the cost of the box, everything else is like icing on your kbeauty cake. This is a very popular product by Skinfood. This is a hydrating mask paste with rice powder for exfoliating. Apply, massage, wait ten minutes then wash off. Surprisingly, I've never used this product!
Value: $9.99
Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Toner- It's really weird because both bottles say Emulsion but one is *definitely* the toner! It smells fantastic. Other than alcohol, which I'm avoiding at the moment, the ingredients look good for a toner. There's a little glycolic acid in there which is nice. Toners are used after cleansing and before your serums and emulsions.

Skinfood Fresh Apple Emulsion- Speaking of emulsions, this also smells like appley goodness. It's a thick gel that goes on with no stickiness. A little does go a long way (a VERY long way) and it take a bit to massage it all in.
Skinfood Black Bean Eye Liner Pencil-  Another full size product by Skinfood. I've used this black bean eyeliner before and I wasn't super impressed with it. Mainly because I've been using my Clio liners and there is nothing that comes close to their perfection.
Value: $6

VERDICT: The 3B Box has great value and is a perfect intro to Asian beauty. If you're interested in getting some of the most popular brands and products, this is the way to go. I'm surprised that the entire box is Skinfood, I tend to like some variety but Skinfood has an extensive line of beauty and skincare products and is very prominent in the kbeauty landscape. If you are looking for the strange and unusual, this subscription is not for you. The 3B Box is about the staples, both in brand and product. That is by no means a bad thing. In fact I think it's awesome and an essential part of learning kbeauty.

If you would like to sign up for The 3B Box, you can do that here. I believe they are still on a waitlist but have been recently moving people off in droves. You may miss a box but this is a great opportunity to get kbeauty delivered. And at such a reasonable cost. I don't know how they do it.

  1. A small suggestion for the Skinfood Rice Mask- I have 4 jars of this now, LOL. I keep mine in the fridge because it feels really cooling and also because I don't think there are a lot of preservatives in it. ( which is a good thing, but not for long shelf life). :)

I take it you didn't get the Beauty Fix disaster box of July? So bad I'm getting a full refund, including postage.

    1. No, I did. I'm just so furious with it that writing up the review is killing me. It's taken me three days. I wrote them an email. It was after business hours but I hope to hear back tmw.

    2. I didn't hate the July Beauty Fix at all... I'm actually excited to try most of the products. I look forward to your take on it though!

    3. Okay, I'll get on it. :D
