Kloverbox August 2015 Detox & Diminish Review and Coupon Code

Kloverbox is my most favorite eco-conscious subscription. They send natural and organic skincare products, healthy snacks and sustainable living household products. This month is beauty heavy with skincare focused on keeping your skin clean and happy.

The theme for the August box is Detox & Diminish. That means charcoal and getting rid of fine lines. I'm all about both of those things since my skin and volcanoes apparently could be best friends if ever in close proximity. Something about charcoal makes my skin glow.

The Cost: $25/month.

What You Get: Receive premium products to sample from top brands and hand-picked by health conscious curators in beauty, health, nutrition and home categories.

Beauteque's Mask Maven Subscription Box Review

Beauteque's Mask Maven August 2015 has a plethora of sheet masks, a yogurt mask and a set of peeling gels. This isn't my favorite Mask Maven but it does have redeeming factors. Namely, the inclusion of a new-to-me brand of sheet mask! Even better, they have no alcohol which can be a problem, especially since my skin has been doing so well since I started eliminated products containing alcohol. I already have dry skin, it doesn't need to be dried any further.

The Cost: $15 plus shipping, varies depending on country of residence.

What You Get: Each month you will receive nine to eleven masks of any type or combination, including sheet masks, wash off masks, body masks, foot masks, hair masks, nail masks... you get the idea.

Boxycharm September 2015 Sneak Peek!

Boxycharm released their first September 2015 Sneak Peek! And I'm excited about it. I really like the Previse brand. I use their Nutrify serum and love it.

This is their HydroMilk Moisturizer.

"HydroMilk is the ideal lotion replacement for natural hydration. Oxidation and dehydration are the two major causes of wrinkles and signs of aging. Potent antioxidants, rich botanical extracts, and hyaluronic acid are your skin’s new best friend."

Plus it's a full size product worth $48.

The small print says that there will be four other full size products in the September box and two are from brands that have never been in a Boxycharm before!

You can sign up for Boxycharm right here. It's $21/month. It's super easy to cancel or modify your subscription from your account. I like that Boxy releases the spoilers fairly early so you have a little time to decide if you want that months box or not.

New Beauty Test Tube September 2015 Review and Coupon

New Beauty Test Tube is an interesting beauty subscription. The goal is the send new and trend-setting products and to expand your brand awareness. I find they send spa quality brands along with new products from old favorites. It really is a nice way to get some of the fresh-on-the-market skincare. Very little make up is sent.
This month there are six official products and three Bonus items. The bonus items are definitely part of the goodness of this box this month.

The Cost: $29.95/bi-monthly plus $8.95 shipping

What You Get: An editor curated selection of beauty must-haves six times a year.  You will receive a TestTube filled with 7 or more deluxe and full-size products from popular beauty brands. Also included is a subscription to New Beauty Magazine.

Rocksbox Jewelry Subscription Box Review and Free Month Offer!

I am loving my Rocksbox subscription SO much! I didn't realize when I signed up just how much I would enjoy it. At first, because it's a rental program, I was a little skeptical. But after receiving some of the most beautiful, wearable jewelry (and falling in love with some pieces), I think I need to keep it up.
The way Rocksbox works is very simple. You sign up, fill out your profile, put a few things in your Wishlist and wait for your first box to arrive. Once it arrives, take everything out, admire it all and wear it as often or as little as you like.

The subscription is a month to month rental. You can wear everything you got and be seen in it, then return it all in a week if you want. As soon as your package gets scanned by the post office, your new box will be curated and sent. As many times in a month as can fit! Or if you like what you got and have an even coming up that a piece will be perfect for just keep the set and return it after your date.

The best part of the whole thing?! You have the option to buy the jewelry you love! This month I fell head over heels for the House of Harlow 1960 Arrow Ring. I haven't taken it off except to shower. I love it.
Guess what? Each month you get $10 of "Shine Spend." That's $10 to spend on jewelry that month. If you don't like anything enough to keep, that's fine. You'll still have $10 the next month. It doesn't add up, you only get the $10 but I've used mine already... Pretty good deal to get to test drive jewelry then get half the purchase price of the rental back to spend on buying it!

They have really great brands, too. Besides House of Harlow, there's Kendra Scott, Gorjana, Jules Smith, Wanderlust & Co, among others.

The Cost: $19.99/month

What You Get: Three pieces of jewelry to wear as long as you want, $10 to spend on items you want to keep and free shipping and returns.

Scentbird August 2015 Fragrance Subscription Review Plus Free 2nd Month Offer!

Scentbird is one of my favorite newer subscriptions. They send your choice of fragrance to your door in an 8ml purse spray. Your first month will include a black case and faux velvety drawstring sack.

I didn't know I loved perfume as much as I do until I started subscribing to Scentbird. My biggest issue with perfume is that a huge bottle of it will last me my entire life. And I don't want to smell the same  my entire life. The frugal in me thinks "Well, I have a huge bottle at home, I don't really need this other huge bottle." Hence the reason that before Scentbird, I had a grand total of maybe five perfumes.

The Cost:$14.99/month

What You Get: Each month you will receive one 8ml purse spray of the scent of your choice based on your profile.  The first month, you will receive the black atomizer case for the perfume and a carrysack for it.

So Susan August 2015 Lip Love Beauty Subscription Review

So Susan is a London based beauty subscription that delivers worldwide. Actually, they're a cosmetic company that has a subscription called Lip Love. It's not all about lips, though, and while I love all the lippies, I'm glad. I was first introduced to So Susan with a concealer quad. I dismissed it without even trying it. Then this months Boxycharm had a Statement Skin highlighter that I immediately fell in love with.
Lip Love sends a monthly cosmetic bag with an inspirational quote on it. Each month you'll receive three products plus one bonus makeup item and one bonus accessory. Two of the products will be revealed and the rest will be a mystery until it shows up at your doorstep.

The Cost: $15.95 + shipping (varies depending on your country). Shipping is only charged for the first month. Subsequent months receive free shipping.

What You Get: Three So Susan and/or Jelly Pong Pong products plus a bonus makeup item and bonus accessory in a canvas cosmetic bag.

30 Days of Candy "Around the World in 30 Days" Subscription Box Review and Coupon Code

30 Days of Candy has to be one of the most fun candy boxes ever. This is not just candy, it's an adventure. I can think of a million reasons to get this box both for fun, adventure and learning. What an opportunity to teach something with incentive!

Each 30 Days of Candy box has 30 packets of 100 or so calories worth of candies. In this specific box, the theme is "Around the World in 30 Days." If you start a subscription, you will begin with this box. And it is a wonderful box, if I do say so myself.
It arrives in a very long box. With it's red and white stripes, you'll know what it is for sure. This is not going to fit in a mailbox so it will likely land on your doorstep.

The Cost: $29.95/month plus $5.95 shipping.

What You Get: 30 Days of approximately 100 calories of candies from around the world with inserts explaining the candy, along with quotes and photos from the country of origin.

GeekFuel Gamer/Geek Subscription Box Review

This is my first GeekFuel and I'm totally hooked. One of the best things (besides the geeky awesomeness) is that every box includes a T-shirt! And this months T-shirt is the best thing ever! I know, I know, there's a lot of geek boxes out there (Loot Crate, 1UpBox, Nerd Block, etc) but I think my favorites will always be the ones that guarantee shirts. Sorry, Loot Crate but it's true.

The Cost: $24/month.

What You Get: Every box will include a t-shirt, a full game and over $50 worth of awesome geeky goodies to appease the gamer at heart.

Beauteque Head-To-Toe "Skinfood" Bag Review

Beauteque is a US-based Korean beauty retailer. They sell all sorts of Korean brands of skincare and makeup. Each month they also curate a Head-to-Toe bag with a theme and at a very reasonable price. This month the theme is "Skinfood" and all the products are from the Skinfood brand.

This is not a subscription. This is a one time purchase and there will be no re-curring charges. You can however get a Beauteque Monthly BB Bag or Mask Maven which are monthly. You can see those here on this website.

The Head to Toe bag is a curated collection of kbeauty products that changes every month. Once it sells out, it's gone forever so if you see one you like, you need to jump on it.

The bags usually range from about $25 to $30 depending on the contents. Beauteque ships internationally with a fixed shipping fee depending on where you live. They usually have a spoiler for a few of the items but the rest is a mystery (until you read this).  This particular bag is $25 plus shipping.

Lit-Cube August 2015 "Home Sweet Oz" Book Subscription Review Plus September Theme

Lit-Cube is a subscription box that sends books and bookish goodies each month. While I love my Kindle, I've always been a big reader and I resisted that invention for a long time. I insisted that the smell of books and the turning of pages was far superior to a piece of electronics. Weeell.... I don't say those things any more but that doesn't mean that I don't still love a good book.

The Cost: $29.98/month

What You Get: A hand selected book accompanied by high quality literary-themed items to create a great reading experience.

Hamptons Lane "Summer Picnic" Box Review Plus $10 Off First Box!

Hamptons Lane is an artisan food subscription. Each month they focus on a different region, food, ingredient or activity and send a box of food, kitchen tools and/or serveware curated around that theme.

Each month you can get the newest themed box or you can choose a different one from past boxes that you may have missed. If nothing looks good to you, you can skip! I really like it when a subscription offers a skip option. I wish they all did.

I signed up during a flash sale. The offer was buy one box and get a Summer Picnic free. I'm all over that because it means I get each box for $24 and both boxes were definitely worth that.

The Cost: $47/month. Skip Anytime.

What You Get: Curated artisan ingredients, handy kitchen tools with unique recipes delivered in a monthly themed box.

1UpBox August 2015 "Combat" Review and Coupon Code

1UpBox is a geek/gamer subscription box that sends a t-shirt every month along with other nerd-tastic paraphernalia. Since I'm a gamer (or I was) and my husband loves getting the t-shirts, this is one of our favorite gamer boxes.
I think that 1UpBox might be the only one that guarantees a t-shirt each month. I'll have to check that. In any case, I always feel like even if I don't like the collectibles, the t-shirt is worth the cost of the box to begin with.

The Cost: $18.92/month (including shipping)

What You Get: $40+ Value of awesome stuff in each box. Every month features a new collection with an exclusive EPIC Shirt!

Barkbox Small Dog Box August 2015 Review and Free Box Offer

The August 2015 Barkbox has a theme of "Summer Block Party". I've been getting Barkbox for nearly a year and a half now and I've always been very impressed with their treats and toys. They send such a good variety. Barkbox also has a box for dogs with common allergies, too. I think I'm going to start getting that one and reviewing it for a change. For now, though, this is the Small Dog regular box.
This month has two toys and three treats. I think it's pretty usual to have two bags of treats and one random "single use" treat tucked in. I always love how creative Barkbox is with it's themes. And this particular one netted us a new favorite toy.

The Cost: $29/month. Get one free month added to your subscription with my referral link.

What You Get: Every month you will receive a box in the mail with four or more carefully selected products and presents for your dog – anything from toys, bones and all-natural treats to hygiene products and innovative new gadgets!

Buddhibox August 2015 Unboxing and Review plus Coupon Code

I think the August 2015 box is my favorite Buddhibox yet! Each box contains items to enrich your life, body, mind and soul. BuddhiBox is committed to sending ethically sourced, cruelty-free products created with intention. They work only with organizations and businesses that follow ethical and eco-conscious practices. BuddhiBox also strives to send organic and vegetarian items when at all possible.

The Cost: $30.95/month

What You Get: Each month, delivered straight to your mailbox, you will receive a mix of 4-6 samples and full size products all dedicated to pure and mindful living.

OwlCrate August 2015 "Mystery" Book Subscription Review

I finally got off the waitlist at OwlCrate! It's a YA book subscription box that sends fresh young adult literature to your door each month along with some bookish goodies. Personally, I adore YA lit. I may be getting close to 40 but I love reading and my favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy. Toss in a little steampunk or history and I'm a happy girl.
Besides a new book, you'll get a whole bunch of bookish/book-related goodies. Sometimes your book will even be signed by the author! I was really impressed with the box and packing. Except for the purple paper shreds which linted all over everything.

The Cost: $36.98/month to the US (OwlCrate also ships within Canada and Internationally).

What You Get: Every single crate comes equipped with a top notch, newly released YA novel alone with lots of goodies geared towards bookworms. Goodies consist of jewelry, bookmarks, stickers, prints, toys, accessories, and all sorts of wonderful randomness!

Ipsy August 2015 Beauty Subscription Box Review

Ipsy finally made it to my house! Ipsy is one of the premier beauty sampling subscription box services. In my opinion, they tend to be more makeup focused than Birchbox and that's what makes it a little different. It's not better or worse than Birchbox, it's just different.
When you see this hot pink number in your mailbox, you'll know Ipsy arrived! And everyone else will be wondering what scandalous thing you ordered as you walk back with it in your arms.

The Cost: $10/month

What You Get: Get five sample-sized beauty products in a cute makeup bag along with coupons to buy full sizes at online shops.

Nina Garcia Quarterly #NGQ06 Theme and Hints

 ngq06
Finally! Quarterly needs to change their name to Semesterly at this point. The Nina Garcia box now has a theme!

Travel Essentials!

I'm pretty sure she knows a lot about traveling and I'm pretty excited to see what her favorite "on-the-go beauty products" are.

Plus tech gadgets! This makes sense because she's actually really into technology and she even has a pair of the GoogleGlass glasses! Lucky girl.

So, we will see some assuredly luxury beauty and hair products. I'd love to see a tool but we did just get a whole box of haircare so probably not. Something to travel with that's techie... Probably not earbuds because we already got those in an earlier box.

I'm hoping for a glorious piece of jewelry!

Sign up here for the Nina Garcia Quarterly box. It's $100/quarterly (or however often they ship during the year. So far it's twice).

I am warning you ahead of time, though, that this box likely won't ship til Christmas. I'm joking. Sort of. The website says it's supposed to ship in August but I wouldn't count on it. You have to be a flexible sort to put up with pushed out shipping dates with Quarterly. Luckily, they don't charge until they ship so your $100 is safe until then. Aaaaand update to say that the box is now shipping in September. :D

Rachel Zoe Box of Style Fall 2015 Selling Out Fast! Get $10 Off!

 rachel zoe box of style
I don't know about you but I'm really excited about this box. The last two Box of Style boxes were faaantastic! Well, I didn't really like the white purse from the last box but everything else was great. And the Cambridge Satchel made someone else very happy.

The cost is $100/quarter or $350 for a one year subscription. You can get $10 off with this link. Plug in your email and boom. There you go! It's the first time they've offered a coupon so I'm pretty happy about that.

This Fall 2015 box will have a Cluse La Boheme Rose Gold Watch in it. It will come with both gray and black straps and a carrycase. I think I may end up buying the pink straps right from their website but really, black and gray are both pretty practical.

Are you excited? I'm sort of out of  my mind. These ship September 1st and I can hardly wait!

Update: Aaaaaand it's now sold out. I hope you got one if you wanted one! You should still sign up for the Winter box, though!

Ipsy September 2015 Sneak Peek

The September Ipsy Sneak Peek has been put out! Everyone will receive one of these two products in addition, of course, to the Glambag and four other goodies.

I think it's pretty fun that Ipsy collaborated with NYX for an eyeshadow palette! And it's fall-centric, too, which is nice.

Glamglow is a highly coveted brand, though not my favorite. I think I'd be equally okay with either one. This is the new GlamGlow FlashMud, I believe. "A multi-targeted, multi-sensorial quick results brightening treatment for radiant, youthful-looking skin."

What do you think? Excited?

If you haven't signed up for Ipsy, it's possible the waitlist may still be paused, so now is your chance!

You can sign up right here and for $10, get your own Glambag of makeup treats sent to your door! It's always fun to get that shiny pink bag.

Love With Food August 2015 "Road Trip" Deluxe Box Review and 40% Off Box Offer

My Love with Food Deluxe Box August 2015 arrived! I've really been enjoying the Deluxe boxes but after this subscription is over, I think I'm going to go back to the Tasting Box. Unless, of course, Groupon runs another deal.

The Cost: $19.95/month for the Deluxe Box, $9.99/month for the Tasting Box

What You Get: 16-20 new snacks each month. Snacks are either organic or all-natural, GMO-free, gluten-free or free of artificial junk. (The regular Tasting Box has 8+ snacks).

Something Snacks August 2015 "Cheesy" Review and Coupon

Something Snacks is a snack subscription that sends both unusual international snacks and some more familiar snacks at the same time. Personally, I like it that way because then I know there will always be something I'll like.

This box had a surprising addition that I thought was SO much fun!

The Cost: $13/month.

What You Get: Each box will contain 7 new and tasty, hand selected snacks. You can expect something familiar and something more out of the ordinary.

Boxycharm August 2015 "Globetrotter" Subscription Box Review

I took a little break from Boxycharm because I was getting a little overwhelmed with product here at home. They tend to send a lot of makeup and I'm settling into a nice makeup routine with products I love. However, when I saw the spoiler for the Coastal Scents Revealed 3 palette, I had to sign up again.
Of all the boxes I get, I think Boxycharm sends the most makeup. And the most full size makeup as well. So if you love makeup, I'm gonna say that this might be the box you're looking for. They do send occasional skincare and little things like metallic tattoos but for the most part... Makeup.

The Cost: $21/month.

What You Get: Full size and luxury size beauty samples of the best beauty products from popular and chic brands. Anything from nail care and hair products to the top skin care and cosmetics.
Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Eyeshadow Palette- This palette has twenty eye shadows in a stunning variety of hues and textures. I think this might be the affordable palette to rule them all! Obviously Coastal Scents isn't on par with the Naked palettes but they sure are cheaper. And quite frankly, these colors are killer! I have the first one but this one has far more colors that I like.
Value: $19.95 on sale
Seta Eyeliner Brush-  An extremely thin line brush comes with a tapered, pointed head to make applying eyeliner close to your lash line effortless. Wood handled with synthetic brush - overall length is 5 1/2 inches.
I usually use an angled eyeliner brush but then I also use eyeshadow for my liner. I feel like using this would take forever to do that. Unless I mixed the shadow with water. Oh, wait. Duh. This goes with the Mica Beauty Gel Eyeliner. I should give myself a star for being so smart. Or obtuse. Sheesh.
Value: $16

Nios Shield Leave-In Conditioner- Urgh. Hair product. I could swim in the amount of hair product I have. Honestly, I'm not sure what I have against hair stuff. Maybe because I hate doing anything with my hair except washing it? Who knows. This is does sound good so maybe I should try it?
"Offers year-round color and texture protection with a light, natural hold combined with SPF 15 sunscreen. Vitamin E and B5 hydrate and nourish your hair, while the built-in SPF sunscreen protects hair color and texture and scalp sunburn. The Moroccan argan oil helps tame frizz and leaves a healthy, shiny glow."
Or I could just stick with my Beauty Protector from Birchbox that I love.
Value: $26
So Susan Statement Skin Highlighting Crayon in Starlight- "An instant remedy to lifeless, lacklustre complexions, simply glide Statement Skin across your forehead, down the centre of your nose and on your chin, and blend for the glow of outdoors radiance. The unique chiselled head enables you to cover large areas of the face, or target small pinpoint ones (like your cupid's bow), all without using a brush! Powered by Organic Chia Seed to help keep skin softly hydrated and Silk Peptide to promote skin suppleness and elasticity."
This is, I think, the only highlighting crayon I've ever owned. Is that bad? So, I'm going to have a ton of fun practicing with this. It is gorgeous. So subtle, glides smoothly and blends beautifully. This brand is from London and is also from the creator of the Jelly Pong Pong brand.
Value: $20

Mica Beauty Gel Eyeliner- A long-lasting, quick-drying, smudge-proof, smooth-gliding gel eyeliner. That was a lot of hyphens. I feel they were appropriately used. Anyhoo, potted gel eyeliner. Like I mentioned before, I usually use shadow for my liner (pencils, too) but no pots. Should I branch out? Will potted gel eyeliner give me a fabulous cat eye? Should I have used a hyphen? Cat-eye?
Value: $35

VERDICT: This box is fantastic! I love the palette and the highlighter so much. And those alone are worth double the cost of the box. I'll use the eyeliner pencil but probably not with that gel eyeliner. Which can I just say... $35 for a pot of eyeliner? It's not gold! And it's not even a top shelf brand! Maaaaybe (and I mean probably never) I would buy a MAC eyeliner for that much but uh, Mica Beauty? No. That has nothing to do with Boxycharm, though. I think Boxy is great! And I loved this box. Actually, I'm glad I loved the So Susan highlighter because I decided to subscribe to the So Susan subscription box. (Thanks, Amanda)

If you would like to sign up for Boxycharm, you can do that here. If you do it quickly enough, you will likely get this exact box. Unless the website says otherwise, you can get that months box until the last day of the month. That's another thing I really like about Boxy.

Boxycharm doesn't typically (or ever, as far as I know) have coupons but they do have a referral program that offers charms that you can spend to buy product in their shop.

What do you think of this months box? Which Revealed palette is your favorite?

Tuesday Tidbits

Tuesday Tidbits are All The Things I think of that don't fit anywhere else.

Boys
I cannot believe how much food a 25 year old male can consume. How do mama's keep their boys fed?! I've got a bunch of guys staying with us for the week and they're all like bottomless pits!

Baby Got Back
Do you have a favorite pair of jeans? Or a favorite brand? I had a pair of J.Crew jeans bite the dust the other day. I'd had them since college so it was about time but man, they were the perfect, comfortable fit. J.Crew doesn't make 'em like they used to, either. Other than that? My favorite jeans are always from Express. I don't know why but they always have at least one version that fits perfectly. Gotta have room for the cheeks! They were on sale so I bought two pairs of both regular and short (that's so I can wear flats and heels).

Superhero Swoon
Am I the only one that fell in love with Chris Pratt as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy? I loved that movie and can't wait for the next. But I'm a sucker for those superhero type films.

Working out Stinks but I do it Anyway

Popsugar Must Have August 2015 Review, Coupon Code and LE Announcement!

The August 2015 Popsugar Must Have box was such a surprise! I don't know why but it seems like everything in it was so odd yet fun. Of all the boxes I get, this is my favorite. If I had to give up all my boxes but one, this is the one I would keep. Popsugar always has the best items, the most usable things and (even though it doesn't make sense) I feel like they send "real" products. Meaning... no samples. Unless it's a bonus.
The boxes always have a ridiculously good value. Well over $100 for the most part. Some of them have been so good I've bought two. Last Christmas, I bought THREE and used them as gifts. Seriously, these boxes are the best.

The Cost: $39.99/month

What You Get: Full size, premium products dealing with Home, Fashion, Fitness, Beauty and Food!

The Cannonball Collective Summer 2015 "Torn and Frayed" Kit Review

The Cannonball Collective is a truly unique and special subscription. It's more than a box, it's about enhancing your life in ways you probably wouldn't think of on your own. At least I didn't. It's truly an experience and a wonderful opportunity to add something special to your life.
This quarter, the theme of the Cannonball Collective box is "Torn and Frayed." It's a carefully curated collection of items to help you get a little creative while getting a little more sustainability out of your clothing. Or whatever you choose to work on.
The initial experience of opening the box was part of the fun. This is a beautifully prepared and packaged product.
Everything arrived in a logo tin. I love that there is container for the contents. It's always nice to be able to keep items like this together in one spot and this is the perfect avenue for that.
Each box will arrive with the printed magazine that explains what you're getting, why it was chosen
and how the theme pertains to life and happiness.

The Cost: $95/quarter

What You Get: A curated kit of Amazing Goods designed to bring a little fun and inspiration to your life along with a printed Cannonball magazine edition.

SkinnyMint 28 Day TeaTox Review

When SkinnyMint approached me to do a review of their 28 Day Teatox, it was pretty much the perfect timing for it. I had just started getting back to the gym, eating properly and paying attention to the scale. The SkinnyMint Teatox is a simple program involving routine and one of my favorite things- Tea!

What It Is

Each Teatox is compiled of 28 Morning Boost green tea mesh teabags and 14 Night Cleanse teabags. Each morning, get your energy boost from antioxidant packed green tea. Every other night, take a mug of caffeine-free, herbal tea before you crawl into bed.

The most positive thing I can say about these SkinnyMint teas is that they are tasty! This is extremely important in any type of program like this. If you hate to drink it, you won't do it. And the goal, of course, is to finish! Both these teas are absolutely worth drinking.

Now, let me say that you don't actually need to "detox" since that's what your liver is for but a Teatox is a little bit different. I think part of it is the substitution of latte for a tea. Or an energy drink for a green tea. That one thing will make a difference, for sure. Say you normally drink a Tall Vanilla Latte in the mornings. But now you're drinking a cup of tea instead. You just saved yourself about 4700 calories in those 28 days. That's over a pound that you didn't gain. Party!

Also, if you struggle with bloating, you are going to love this. Both teas contain natural plants that help ease the issue.
