PetGiftBox August 2015 "Dog Days of Summer" Small Dog Box Review Plus Coupon Code

PetGiftBox is a way to spoil your pets. This review is for the August 2015 Small Dog Box but they also have boxes for cats (and larger dogs). Each month you'll be sent treats and toys to keep your dog(s) happy and full of snacks.

For myself, I find the biggest benefit is that these boxes save me time. I no longer have to make a trip to the pet store to replace empty treat boxes or refresh the toybox. Instead, all that comes to me! The fun part is finding toys that the dogs love that I would never even think of buying. Sometimes I'm surprised by what the dogs take a liking to.

The Cost: $27.99/month-to-month down to $17.99/month if you get a year.

What You Get: A box of four to six toys and treats for your pet.
Lifeguard Beach Toy- This ball bit the dust really quickly. Bugsy has a thing for anything even remotely round in shape. And the first goal is to kill the squeaker. Because it went to shreds, I tossed it but let him keep the squeaker. Which he is playing with right this second. So weird.
Value: $4?

FouFit Frozen Pupsicle- This is a floating dog toy but you can also soak it, squeeze it out and then freeze it. I tried this but what ended up happening was it left soggy wet spots where it sat when the dogs weren't playing with it. I would say it's definitely an outside toy.
Value: $7
Puppy Chillerz Peanut Butter Jello- How fun! I'll make these but I think I will freeze them rather than refrigerate. Hopefully that works. Both my dogs love peanut butter so this will be a winner.
Value: $5

Puppy Scoops Ice Cream- We've received this once before in a different dog box and both dogs go nuts for this! I'm actually glad to have another one because now I can just give one to each dog. I let them lick for awhile then I take it away.
Value: $7
Fou-Stick Protect- These sticks actually come in handy for people, too! These are made from coconut oil and beeswax. It's good for noses and pawpads. Since Bugsy is Mr. Tenderfoot, he's getting this on his paws.
Value: $5

VERDICT: PetGiftBox does a great job with their themes, all the toys are appropriately size for my dogs and the treats will be devoured, I'm sure. I wish the toys were a little more sturdy but not everyone has dogs delivering a death sentence to anything with a squeaker. The treats were definitely the star of the show in this box.  Both toys were a little too delicate in nature to stand up to the chewtastic fervor of my dogs.  What did I love most?  The Fou-stick. This wasn't my favorite box I've ever received but I have to admit that it was probably the most unusual. Those treats are fun!

I don't think I would currently recommend this box if you have a teacup or very small dog since they lump all small dogs into the same category- 0-20lbs. You can look at the toys and judge for yourself, of course, but I would say the Small Dog box is more for 10-20lbs.
