The 3B Box August 2015 Asian Beauty Box Review

The 3B Box is a subscription for lovers of Asian Beauty. Whether it be Korean, Japanese or Taiwanese, 3B is here to feed your addiction. Or mine at least. This subscription is so reasonably priced that it's practically impossible to give up.

3B tends to send the old favorites but also includes some products that have surprised me over the last few months. This month has two brands that have never been in a 3B Box before though I have seen them in Memebox.

The Cost: $12/month

What You Get: Four to five deluxe size Asian beauty samples from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
TonyMoly Delight Tony Tint- This is pretty much a staple of kbeauty cosmetics. If you don't have one, you should. If you do have one, you probably have five. At least if you're me. This is actually my favorite lip tint of all the tints I've tried. I like the color and I like it's staying power. While I never do gradient lips (because I have thin lips!), it's supposedly perfect for it.
Secret Key Starting Treatment Eye Cream- Secret Key?! In a $12 box? Be still my heart! I love Secret Key. They have a few products I love and the Starting Treatment Essence is one of them. You know SK-II, right? Super expensive and has a "special" pitera ingredient? Well, that ingredient is Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate. And what's in this eye cream? You got it! Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and it's gentle on the skin. So this huge (30g) tube of eye cream is going to come in handy. It also has no parabens or synthetic coloring.
RiRe Luxe Eye Lash Essence/RiRe Luxe Long and Curl Mascara- I think you can get either one of these. I got the mascara, though I definitely wish I got the Lash Essence. /cry Oh, well. I'm pretty happy to see RiRe in here because it's more unusual. Now, I should have opened this mascara to show you but I don't want to use it just yet. It's got a loop for a brush instead of a wand! Isn't that weird? This is a fiber mascara, so it deposits fibers on your lashes to lengthen and thicken them. Since my favorite mascara in the universe (Hope Girl 140 Superlash) is like that, I'm definitely going to be trying it. And *cough* even though it says it's "lose" scented... it's actually "rose."
Missha Pure Source Cell Sheet Mask- Sheet masks are pretty much standard in kbeauty boxes. This is a cotton sheet mask by Missha. It sadly has alcohol in it which I'm avoiding to keep my redness at bay. But it also has something interesting called lactobacillus/lemon peel ferment filtrate. I like ferment filtrates because they are so gentle for the skin. But I'm not interested enough to try it with the alcohol in it. Darn!

VERDICT: I'll probably only use two products from this box. The Secret Key and the RiRe. Those two products are worth more than the purchase price of the box itself and I would pay $6 to try them, too. I'm disappointed by Missha putting alcohol in their sheet masks. You'd think they're a big enough powerhouse on the kbeauty skincare scene that they could easily do away with it. The TonyMoly Delight Lip Tint I already have but it's a good one. I do have a lot more than the average person (probably) when it comes to kbeauty so I'm always a little surprised when there's something I haven't used or don't have.

I still think this is a fun intro-to-kbeauty box and the price is right for anyone wanting to get a little dose of Asian goodies each month. Obviously someone who has a swimming pool full of kbeauty probably won't be interested but hey, for $12 why not add to the collection? :D

Sign up at www.the3bbox.com! I think there is a waiting list and you won't get this months box. But hopefully next month. They've been moving people off faster and faster each month. Woohoo!

  1. I think I want to try that mascara. I don't think I've ever tried a fiber one before. And with a loop? Sounds fun! I really hope you're right and they're moving people off the wait list quickly. I signed up for the list in May and didn't even get a confirmation that I was on it until July :( Crossing my fingers for September :D

    1. Eek! That doesn't sound good! I think they were sending emails with special links to pay and get off the waitlist. It seemed like droves of people got off last month, I'm sad you weren't one of them!
Yes, the mascara looks like a mini toilet brush. I'm not kidding. :D

  2. Welp, that's not what I got in MY box. Nope, not one thing in common. However, if you go back to your JULY review, you'll clearly see what the fools sent me that arrived TODAY.
Some subs have done SHADY things before, but this really takes the cake.
    I'm so mad I'm shaking.

  3. When I first ordered they sent me a bag pretty fast and it was the month before then later in the month they sent me August. I would sent them an email just to be sure.

    1. Thanks for reading my post and caring. I like your blog. :)
I've been a member for all but the very first box, maybe I even got that one. So they know they messed up and are making up nonsense rules to try to justify their mistake.

When I asked why I am reading August reviews all over the Internet but received a July box on Friday the 14th of August, they said that the bloggers " had an earlier subscription date in the month".
That makes NO sense. I've cancelled them and about 10 other subs that are as boring to me.

Again, thank you for your input, as I can see that happening to a new subscriber, but I'm not one. :)

  4. "If you do have one, you probably have five." Hahaha yup. Those little TonyMoly tints breed in my makeup drawer or something. Anyway, I was actually eyeing that Secret Key eye cream on eBay the other day - I hope it turns out to be good!
