Tuesday Tidbits

Tuesday Tidbits are All The Things I think of that don't fit anywhere else.

I cannot believe how much food a 25 year old male can consume. How do mama's keep their boys fed?! I've got a bunch of guys staying with us for the week and they're all like bottomless pits!

Baby Got Back
Do you have a favorite pair of jeans? Or a favorite brand? I had a pair of J.Crew jeans bite the dust the other day. I'd had them since college so it was about time but man, they were the perfect, comfortable fit. J.Crew doesn't make 'em like they used to, either. Other than that? My favorite jeans are always from Express. I don't know why but they always have at least one version that fits perfectly. Gotta have room for the cheeks! They were on sale so I bought two pairs of both regular and short (that's so I can wear flats and heels).

Superhero Swoon
Am I the only one that fell in love with Chris Pratt as Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy? I loved that movie and can't wait for the next. But I'm a sucker for those superhero type films.

Working out Stinks but I do it Anyway

I was on Instagram looking at "fitspo." There are so many ab-tastic photos! Why, I wonder, do most fitness inspiration photos focus on the abs? Where are the rockin' calves and quads!? My body shape will never allow me to have those chiseled abs unless I'm at a very low body fat percentage. I'd say I'm built more like a Jessica Simpson. And yes, I'm totally envious!
Part of me wishes I had that pear shape instead of an apple. The grass is always greener, though, isn't it? Pears get abs, apples get quads. Quads and hamstrings must not be as photogenic, though. Hm. Or not as easy to get a photo in the mirror.

I've been working on losing about ten pounds for the last month. I'm down five but I'm already a healthy weight so it's slow going. And I've been weightlifting! Yep. I'm pretty much the only girl in the weights section and definitely the only girl on the squat rack. I go with my husband so he's my "trainer." He's been working out his whole life and is obsessed with proper form and challenging oneself.
The first time I used the squat rack, I could only lift the bar. The second time, we added ten pounds. The third time we added 30lbs. My last lifting session, I was at 105lbs on my squat sets. I'll be lifting my body weight in no time! Woohoo!

Stupid headaches
Aaand then I got sick. Well, I got a migraine actually. /sigh It's why there were only been sporadic posts for a week or so. I could only take so much staring at the screen and bright light. I don't get them as bad as some but they're still incredibly painful and awful. It's my own fault because I forgot to renew the prescription that keeps them at bay.

Caramel is bliss. Just sayin'.
