Aster Market September 2015 Subscription Box Review and Coupon Code

Aster Market focuses on providing subscribers with some of the best small-batch, unique goods from around the world.  A box may contain anything from exquisite paper goods to spa products, jewelry and more. It's a way to get a wonderful surprise delivered to your door each month.
Not only that but Aster Market donates 25% of their net proceeds to worthy causes around the world. With six categories of causes (Animals, Children, Health, Veterans, Women and the World), you get to choose where you would like your portion of the donations to go.  Every few months they feature a new organization in each category in order to give back to a variety of non-profits. You can read more and see the organizations for the current month right here.
Each box comes with an information card describing the products included and some information about the artists and why the particular item was included. On the flipside of the card are the organizations that Aster Market is donating to for the month. I was happy to see the ASPCA and the Wounded Warrior Project on it!

The Cost: $46.95/month, includes shipping.

What You Get: Each box will contain two or more high quality, small-batch goods that will add that special little touch to your life. You can expect to receive anything from home décor, jewelry, accessories, paper goods, bath products and more.  The value will meet at least the cost of the box.

Frankie and Coco PDX Cosmetic Bag- When I saw this on top of everything I admit I gave a little "squeee" of happiness. This is a canvas pouch with LOTS of room. It's fully lined and the zipper is strong. Plus I love the zipper pull. And the pattern.
What a great addition to this box! This bag will hold a lot! I looked through the Etsy shop and I'm thinking I need a few more things. The craftsmanship of this bag is superb and I see so many things in her shop that I would love to own.
Value: $24
Be Free Designs Jewelry Dish- This is a white polymer clay jewelry dish. It's flattish with a shallow lip. The hand-stamped and painted "loved" accent is so pretty and is going to look so great with my small dish from Decoterie. I kind of want to get a hook for it and hang it up somehow.
Value: $14

Quill & Fox Notepad- This is a super cute notepad! It has fifty pages and all fifty of those pages will be used by yours truly. I go through notepads like you wouldn't believe. Shopping lists, subscription box lists, lists of my lists, lists of crafting materials and companion gifts... Heh. The only thing that would make this better is a magnet. But that's easy to fix since this pad has a sturdy back, I can put one of my own on there.
Value: $8
Stephanie Martin Co Seed Bead Bracelets- Three bracelets of copper colored glass seed beeds with a golden bar. They're stretchy so they'll fit any wrist. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking these. They're dainty and delicate and the coppery beads keep it from looking like a child's bracelet.
Value: $10

VERDICT: This was the first Aster Market box I've received and I'm really impressed with the curation and quality of the products included. I do like boxes that introduce me to new Etsy artists, especially good ones. The box price is on the high side but I did receive over $50 worth of new goodies. This is not the kind of box where you will get an amazing deal. This is the kind of box that supports small businesses and independent artists. You'll be introduced to craftsmen you wouldn't ever have known about. I'm already debating getting more Frankie & Coco bags, not just for me, but for Christmas gifts as well. The quality is there and I like so many things in her shop.

The curation of the box was excellent. I feel like it would be nice if they offered a smaller box at half the price and half the items, just to corner a larger market share. I really liked the contents of this box and everything is something I would use. Sometimes boxes like these are extensions of their owners tastes and if that's true, then this box and I may become good friends.

    1. I really loved it. I used the bag today as a clutch and got several complements on the pattern alone! I'm keeping my eye on this subscription for sure!
