Clean Bar Box September 2015 Subscription Box Review and Coupon Code

Clean Bar Box is sending out hints of fall with this September 2015 soap box. Since fall is one of my favorite times of the year, I love this upcoming season. Plus, fall scents have always been my favorites.

Clean Bar Box sends small-batch soaps right to your door every month. You'll receive soap scents in seasonally appropriate scents and you have a variety of box sizes to choose from. They're also vegan, contain no preservatives, animal products, petroleum products, parabens, or lauryl sulfates. They're made with coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter with some other ingredient differences depending on the scent.

The Cost: $19.99/month for the Large Box, $14.99/month for the Half-Bar Sampler. This review is for the Large Box. You can also get a box bi-monthly.

What You Get: Four new seasonally inspired scents of artisan crafted handmade vegan soap every month. The Large Box sends two ~5 ounce full bars and two ~2.5 ounce half bars of soap every month. The Half-Bar Sampler sends four ~2.5 ounce bars.

Apple Spice- These soap bars are big! These are not little, chintzy bars that you buy from name brands at the grocery store. They last us about a month so if you're thinking about getting a box like this, you might consider going bi-monthly. The scent is pretty light in this bar. I wish it was a little stronger but maybe that'll happen when it gets wet.

Carolina Fields- Another full size, 5oz bar. It's beautifully berry colored and has an earthy, sweet scent. It's very light and sort of reminds me of when I break a flower stem in my garden. Green and fresh. This bar also has sea salt in it but I think the salt melts before it gives me any exfoliating benefits. Sad! 

Vanilla Oatmeal- Anything with vanilla will discolor. It's perfectly natural. You can see it happening in this bar already. It also means this bar is fresh because the whole thing hasn't completely discolored yet. This scent is SO nice. It reminds me of root beer which might be a little strange but I think I'm going to start with this bar out of the ones in this box.

French Pear- This one has a scent so light it's hard to tell what it is. Although the more I smell it the more it reminds of that pear vodka. Hm.

VERDICT: Clean Bar Box sends a nice array of scents so that there's something for everyone. I think this box might be the least strongly scented of the boxes I've received. But I love getting strong, unusual scents in my soaps. The composition of these soaps makes for a slightly soft, moisturizing bar of soap. You may want to use a soap sack for them once they get too small. Don't lose the goodness down the drain!
