Flickerbox September 2015 Candle Subscription Box Review and Coupon Code

Flicker Box is one of a few candle subscriptions currently available. I have really enjoyed every Flicker Box I've received. The curation is excellent and tends to feature small-batch artisan candles. Some are from Etsy, some are not but everything I've received has been high quality and well-fragranced.
This month the theme is "County Fair" and I've been on tenterhooks waiting for my box to arrive so I can smell all the smells! This particular box features only two candle companies. Both have appeared in Flicker Box before. Both have had excellent throw for me no matter the scent, so I'm not disappointed to see them. I do tend to like a bigger variety but I'm okay with this.

I was a little scared with the theme that these might be too sweetly scented for me. Based on the cold throw I think they'll be okay. I've already started burning one of these. It's the right weather for it--gray and rainy.

The Cost: $34/month + $5.95 shipping.

What You Get: A carefully curated box of all kinds of unique, handmade artisan candles with appropriately seasonal scents.

Copper and Kraft Funnel Cake Candle Tin- This tin is 4oz and is the first one I started burning. I think it's the least sweet of the bunch. It's described as a combination of fried dough sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. I describe it as delicious!
Value: $6.95

Copper and Kraft Cotton Candy Candle Tin- This is a big 8oz candle! The scent seems subtle and slightly sweet. I try not to light too many candles at once so I haven't yet smelled it burning. I think this might be the second one I burn. So many decisions!
Value: $10.95
Eco Candle Co. Tealights in Melted Caramel- A set of ten tealights (the holder is mine). Of all the candles these are by far the sweetest. I can't decide if I like them or not, that's how sweet they are. However, I have *really* enjoyed my past Eco Candle Co. tealights. They had SUCH great throw, one little tea light made the entire office smell fantastic. It's hard to work when you can't stop drooling, too. :D
Value: $10
Eco Candle Co. Tumbler Candle in Apple Orchard- Another lovely scent! This is a 5oz candle that smells of crisp, juicy red apples straight from the orchard. I like this one a lot, too. Give me all the fall, fruity goodness. Plus I like the splash of color. For the most part, candles featured in Flicker Box are natural soy wax with cotton wicks, phthalate free fragrance oils and no dyes.
Value: $11

VERDICT: I consider Flicker Box one of my favorite indulgences. I really think that the curation and themes for Flicker Box are excellent. It is expensive because it's a candle subscription and that's to be expected. The values are right at the price paid which is normal. It's never going to be a super high value type of box. No candle box ever will be. However, if you love artisan candles and want to be introduced to new brands and receive a box of seasonally appropriate scents every month (or bi-monthly), I highly recommend this box.

If you would like to sign up for Flicker Box, head to their website and pick a subscription! Use code FIRSTBOX to get your first box for $25 (plus shipping)! Subsequent boxes will be $34 plus shipping. This is a price increase BUT it's totally worth it for that first box. Especially if you sign up for the October box because the theme is "Sweater Weather" and I *adore* fall scents. I'm sure there's going to be pumpkin! Eeee!

What do you think of Flicker Box? If you would rather choose your own candles, you can, of course! I do recommend both companies that appear in this box.
