PawPack September 2015 Small Dog Subscription Box Review and $20 Off Coupon Code

One of these days I'm going to do a massive post comparing all my dog boxes. PawPack is unique because their goal is to send all natural, grain free, organic and eco-friendly products whenever possible. If you have a dog or cat with allergies, this is the box you'll want to try first.

They also strive to send the best local, artisan and small business all-natural treats and toys. So you'll get toys, treats, chews, bones and accessories from boutique and independent business as often as possible. You'll find treats in these boxes that you won't find anywhere else.

The Cost: $39/month

What You Get: Each PawPack comes with 4 or more premium full sized items for your dog (or cat) as well as samples and other goodies that will always be All-Natural and Grain Free.

Max-Bone Hippo- An eco-friendly toy designed to mesh with your furniture no matter where your dog leaves it. This thing is tough, too. It's pretty heavy, almost too heavy for my 17lb rat terriers but Bugsy loves it anyway. It has a few loose strings from being nommed on but nothing compared to what normal rope toys do when chewed.
Wet Noses Crunchy Kale- Fancy dogs! They get organic kale treats!! These are made in the USA with USA sourced ingredients. They contain no preservatives, corn, wheat, soy or animal by-products. Dexter is going to love these! It's nice getting a box that works to avoid allergy triggers because Dexter seems to be allergic to everything.

Whole Life Beef Liver Treats- Freeze dried liver is a high value treat in my house. Whole Life uses 100% human grade, farm raised beef and these treats are made in the USA. These kinds of treats tend to be very expensive so they are reserved for major training exercises. Like a "leave it" for a favorite toy or treat or "right here" when on a walk and passing another dog without incident. The boys know they did something really well if they get freeze dried liver.
The Natural Dog Company Curly Bully Stick- I love giving the dogs bully sticks. I get most of mine from www.bestbullysticks.com. I buy the 2lb variety bag which is about $30 and comes with SO MANY doggy treats. I think the last bag I got had 30 bully sticks of varying sizes, 10 strips of gullet, a ton of trachea and 4 cow ears. Worth it.
Even so, I love getting bully sticks in these boxes, too. However, this one is not in the photo because I made a rookie mistake. I opened this box and set it aside on the floor after looking at it because I was taking photos for another review. The next day, I heard Bugsy wuffling around and found him getting into the box. I forgot that there had been a bully stick in there and just took out the toys because I didn't want him to ruin them. So... no bully stick photo. Just a happy Dexter with a bully stick of his own.
Zippy Paws 'Pile of Poo'- It's a poop toy! Bugsy was crying in my office because he wanted this so badly. I had put it up and away from his jaws. My husband asked why he was yipping and crying and I said "He wants his poop." The confusion this inspired made me laugh and then I showed him the toy. This had (key word) two squeakers and is a new shape for Bugsy. He slept with it last night. That means he likes it.

VERDICT: PawPack really excels in finding great treats for allergy prone dogs or ingredient conscious dog-parents. Since the price is pretty on par with other dog boxes, I do think that this box would be the best choice. Barkbox does have an Allergy Friendly box but I think it's not quite as good as this one if that's what you're looking for.

If you would like to sign up for PawPack, you can do that right here. Get $20 off with this referral link and code REFERRAL20! Now *that* is pawesome! If that expires use CHECKOUT5 for $5 off.
