Something Snacks September 2015 Snack Subscription Box Review and $5 Off Coupon Code

Something Snacks is the perfect combination of healthy and tasty snacks. Not that healthy snacks can't be tasty but you know what I mean. It's a nice mix of normal and international snacks, too. This month has a snack from Ireland!

The Cost: $13/month.

What You Get: Each box will contain 7 new and tasty, hand selected snacks. You can expect something familiar and something more out of the ordinary.

Beanitos Chipotle BBQ Black Bean Chips- I didn't get to taste these because my husband ate them all before I got to them. I'm still feeling a little badly about not sharing my Snakku box with him so I gave him these two bags of chips.

Tayto Cheese and Onion- These chips are from Ireland (I almost wrote Idaho but no). How cool is that!? The cheese and onion flavor is odd yet strangely satisfying. Pretty tasty actually. But the best part is that they are from Northern Ireland.
Snack Out Loud Power Puffs Sweet and Tangy BBQ- These have a weird texture but the taste was pretty good. Until I realized how spicy they were. I know I'm a wimp but I didn't expect "tangy" to mean "turn your mouth into a flaming fire pit." DH got these, too. He liked them and said they weren't spicy at all. Hmphf.

Froodles Fruit Strips Cherry Bliss- These were skinny strips of fruit rollup. Only thicker and more flavorful since there were spices like cinnamon added. They were really tasty. If I saw these at the store, I would buy them.
Goodie Girl Cookies Midnight Brownie- These were more cookie than brownie. I didn't think they were that great (probably because they weren't brownies and I wanted them to be). They were more like oreos without the filling.

Skinny Crisps Brownie Crisps- These were terrible. Blech. They're low carb and gluten free, there's no way they're gonna be tasty with all the good stuff taken out!
California Crunchies Country Herb Almonds- These were really good. I ate them all. A perfect amount of seasoning, too.

VERDICT: My husband got the most use out of the box this month. He likes snack boxes and eating all the things that are too hot for me so it always works out. I eat what I like, he gets everything I don't. Between us most everything gets scarfed.

If you would like to sign up for Something Snacks, you can do that right here. Use code BITSBOXES2 to get $5 off your first box! That's a great deal!
Do you get a favorite snack box? There's so many to pick from but I like getting more normal snacks than international.

  1. I dropped this sub a couple of months ago because of the deluge of " brownie chips" and " hot chips" I kept getting. Not a bit of real chocolate in the boxes. Can't deal with just chips and cookies, but it could have been weather- related. Still, I'm like you. I do NOT like hot and spicy foods.

Chococurb will be here tomorrow and hopefully, OrangeGlad soon as well. Need ooey gooey chocolate goodness and other sweet pastry treats. :)
Hope your boxes with the primo snacks come soon as well. :)

    1. How does Chococurb send their chocolate? Even OrangeGlad hasn't been sending chocolate over the summer, I've noticed.

    2. First, some of the boxes have been shipped overnight this summer, which makes a tremendous difference in quality. Also, the box has a cool packet in it ( mine is always warm and melted in the summer) and the interior of the shipping box is lined in that silver insulation material like some disposable coolers have.

Remarkably, NONE of my chocolate bars or treats from Chococurb have been melted. I retrieve the box from the front door area as soon as it is left, so it doesn't sit out in the sun and pop it into the fridge just to make sure everything is firm and fine for a few hours before opening anything.

I've written them to tell them how utterly hot as heck it is here ( over 110 degrees all day long) and their Chococurb boxes arrive with perfect chocolate bars and truffles, fudge, brownies, and other milk chocolate items. No bloom on it, no mal-formed items, just perfect.

This is as hot as the USA gets and my boxes have all been fine. I don't think there is any higher standard for them to meet, you know? :) I'm AMAZED!
