The 3B Box September 2015 Asian Beauty Subscription Box Review

The 3B Box is an affordable monthly delivery of Asian beauty and cosmetic products. It has been a nice mixture of full and deluxe sample sizes since it's inception. Popular and excellent but more obscure brands have been featured and this month is pretty stellar in that regard.

The Cost: $12/month

What You Get: Four to five deluxe size Asian beauty samples from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

RiRe Lash Essence- Someone let the cat out of the bag early last month and said we were getting it then but nope. It was for September. I don't know if I've ever used a lash essence but I'm all over this. If it keeps my eyelashes from falling out- all the better. It uses Elastin, peptide, black bean extracts and black sesame extracts. This goes on before your mascara.
Value: $6

Yu-Be Moisturizing Cream- I have to admit to a certain... disappointment when I saw this on the digital card. Thankfully, it is not that super tiny size I've usually gotten. This is a no frills moisturizer, thick and gooey but it works great. Great but boring. :D I used it for my elbows and really chapped lips.
Value: $4
Secret Key Honey Bee AC Spot Control Remover- I think this is one of Secret Key's more popular products. It uses two of my favorite things- bee venom and propolis! They have anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties so it's good for acne prone skin. Dab this on your blemishes and get rid of them in no time! And seriously, this stuff does work. At least for me. This is a full size product. It will last quite awhile, too.
Value: $10
Leaders Mediu Snail Therapy Hand Cream- Give me all the SNAIL! This hand cream uses snail filtration filtrate to soften up your dry crappy hands. And rose. So if you hate rose... This is very rose smelling. I don't mind it because my hands are now ridiculously soft. Wanna know something? I even put retinol cream on my hands. Yep. Because I don't want gross old hands until I really have to have them. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
Value: $6

VERDICT: This is an impressive box for $12! Three full size items and a deluxe sample! Besides the great sizes, the brands are quality and there's a nice product spread. I think this is one of the better boxes from 3B and I'm glad I'm subscribed. I do wish that they had not sent an electronic card. I much prefer having one included with the product.

If you'd like to sign up for The 3B Box, there is a waitlist. Make sure to get your name on it. When your turn rolls around, they'll send you an email and you can decide if you want to sign up for real or not. If you are new to kbeauty, I think this is a great option for you because there's no dealing with strange websites and no shipping fees that make you croak.

What did you think of this month?

  1. Guess what? I'M GETTING A BAG THIS MONTH! It's not here yet but I did get the shipping email. I just hope it doesn't take 3 weeks to arrive like some other boxes....

    1. FINALLY!!! I'm so excited for you! :D I got the shipping email way earlier than they actually shipped, too, so it seemed like it took longer but it didn't really.

  2. I PROMISED myself I wouldn't spoil the box this month but I couldn't resist! I saw the YuBe spoiler on their instagram and I can't say I was too excited about it- I feel like while it's a good moisturizer and a lot of people like it- it's been in literally every subscription box since the dawn of subscription boxes and I'm just so incredibly tired of seeing it!

Everything else this month looks super fab, though!! The spot treatment reminds me a lot of the Mizon one- which is proably what they're duping since Secret Key is known for their great dupes! I'm incredibly sad about the rose scent to the hand cream, though! I am like you and I use creams on my hands religiously, and this one looked really good. I'm sure my mom will love it, though!

    1. Omg, yes! I was so worried but then it wasn't that little tiny crappy useless size! I've never actually seen one this big before. It's not that it's bad, it's just... been around the subscription box block.

Ah, I didn't know that about Secret Key and their dupes! Probably because I think I was introduced to Secret Key before Mizon. Korean spot treatments are hands down the best ever. The hand cream is quite rosey but it's a natural rose as opposed to some of the more chemically smelling one so that's nice but if you don't like rose, you're NOT going to like this one.

I thought this was a great box. They're really doing well for a measly $12/month!

  3. I did receive my yesterday and I got the aqua moisturizer which has a floral scent but not rose!! It is pretty cool as it does that water drop thing on your skin when you rub it in :) I am very happy with the size of the yu-be product as now I can finally try it out on a larger part of my body!! haha And I just learned it makes for a great lip balm too. I disliked yu-be because those samples were the size of my thumbnail and I don't have dry skin....

    1. Oh, good!! That means all four types must be randomly included! I'm glad you didn't get the snail. It's quite rosey.

  4. I'm wondering what you think of Birchbox's new "From Korea, With Love" box. I was excited when I first heard about it because I love reading about KBeauty (especially on your blog!) but I've never really bought any (except a snail serum from Amazon that you recommended - I love it by the way!), but this Birchbox doesn't look great... but they'd all be new products to me. I really should just sign up on the waitlist for 3B.

    1. The brands are good in the Birchbox but their makeup (besides BB cream) is not on par with what you can get elsewhere. It's the skincare with the ingredients that is more impressive. And you can get the Tony Moly panda and the Tony Moly Banana on Amazon for much cheaper than the Birchbox.
However! I am really happy to see Birchbox acknowledging Kbeauty!!
