CosRx Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream Review Plus Memebox Coupons

I was intrigued by CosRx Honey Ceramide Full Moisture Cream from the moment I saw it. I have very dry skin that only gets worse through the winter and I need heavier and heavier creams to keep it hydrated.

Korean beauty has a surprisingly plentiful array of ingredient-rich moisturizers that work very well with a minimum of expense and effort.

CosRx has a myriad of products that make me happy. Not all of them but a significant portion of them are either sitting on my vanity or in a cart on some korean website. Memebox has been doing a good job of keeping up with CosRx (although they don’t have the new low pH cleanser yet!) and I bought this cream at Memebox along with a bunch of other lovely skincare stuffs I couldn’t resist.

Ingredients: Honey Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin,Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Betaine, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Dimethicone, 1,2-Hexanediol, BeesWax, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) Kernel Oil, Elaeis Guineensis(Palm) oil, Hordeum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ceramide 3, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Adenosine.

My favorite ingredients in this list are:

Honey- This is good for you on so many levels. It’s good for dry skin because it is a humectant moisturizer but good for troubled skin because of it’s anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. Humectants are important because they help hold moisture in your skin thus plumping out any fine lines.

Sodium Hyaluronate- Sodium hyaluronate is the smallest form of the Hyaluronic acid molecule. That means it’s a humectant moisturizer that can penetrate deep into the layers of your skin and hold moisture there. Hydration means healthy, plump and glowing skin. Who doesn’t want that?! Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid but as you age, production drops off and getting it in your skincare is a good idea.

Ceramide 3- Ceramides are a necessary component in the formation of the skins natural barrier. Dry skin tends to lack ceramides and you’ll notice flaking. They are an integral part of keeping moisture locked in your skin and maintaining the protection your skin barrier provides against the environment. Studies are also showing that ceramides are part of the natural cell regeneration process and seem to “signal” skin cells to die so new ones can replace them.

Other notables are glycerin as a moisturizer and sunflower seed oil as an occlusive emollient. When you’ve got dry skin like me occlusive moisturizers are so important.

The Honey Ceramide Cream has a thick, stiff texture that melts easily into the skin. Because of the occlusive properties, you’ll notice immediately that your skin feels smoother after applying. Depending on your routine, you may also notice that fine lines have disappeared. It’s not going to get rid of big wrinkles but it will plump out any tiny lines.

I bought a skin moisture monitor the other day and I decided to try it with this cream. Before the cream my skin registered a 32% water content. Directly after application, my skin registered a 49%. Two hours later it’s at 42%. Sooo… yeah, this is definitely hydrating!

I really like this product in conjunction with serums that I use. It does a great job of keeping acne away (all that honey!) and after regular use my skin is definitely smoother, softer and flaking from dryness has really, really been cut down.

It has a very, very light scent that is reminiscent of honey but you really have to get your nose in it to smell it. It’s not unpleasant. I definitely prefer unfragranced skincare so this works for me. Some of those Olay products with all that fragrance added are unbearable no matter how good the ingredients are.

I also struggle sometimes with redness and cracking skin due to my dryness. After using this for nearly a month, I realized that I hadn’t had any of that cracking on my chin or cheeks as I had previously. With the extra moisture and all the honey, the cracks that I did have when I started healed up very quickly.

THOUGHTS: I recommend this product for anyone struggling with dry skin. I find it is very effective at keeping my skin hydrated. The only thing I *don’t* like is the jar packaging but it does come with a spatula, a cover and a lid. I go through it too fast for me to really worry about bacteria and in that respect it’s a perfect size.

For this to be THE perfect cream for me, I would want to see aloe, niacinamide, some peptides and possibly retinol, as well as what’s already in it. That’s just me, though, and this actually is a very nice moisturizer.
