Pumeli Box November 2015 "Trees" Unboxing and Review

Pumeli is a box dedicated to helping you relax and enjoy a stolen moment for yourself. The contents of each box are designed to encourage you to take time for yourself, rest and rejuvenate. Sometimes as women, we tend to have a long list of all the things that need to get done and we forget to put taking care of ourselves on it. Or leave it til last.

With each Pumeli box you'll receive a paper good such as a journal, stationery item or notes to give you a chance to write down your thoughts, organize your mind or just doodle your way to relaxation. You'll also receive an artisan tea to unwind with. Not only that but you'll receive a fair trade, handcrafted piece, designed to evoke inspiration.
This month's box takes on a trip to Africa. The theme is "Trees" and staying grounded, adapting to the present moment, renewing ourselves and taking time to rest.

The Cost: $49.95/month

What You Get: A thoughfully and meaningfully curated experience with a paper good, tea and one or two handmade, fair trade pieces.

Mud Cloth Notebook- Handwoven in Mali and hand-dyed with mud and tea, this journal cover encapsulates a centuries old tradition producing beautiful cloth and textiles. You can read more about it here. The inside Kraft paper pages are for you to write down your thoughts and successes.
Value: $15?
Aduna Baobab Powder- Baobab is a tree in Africa that produces a fruit with exceptional antioxidant, vitamin c, fiber and calcium components. It's naturally a powder form and can be mixed with smoothies, oatmeal or... slather on your face!

Revitalizing Face Mask- Included is a recipe for using the Baobab powder along with the second ingredient, Orange Peel! How fun is this? Mix the Baobab powder with the Orange peel powder and some water and voila! A delicious mask for your face!
JusTea African Chai-This tea is made with 100% natural Rainforest Alliance Kenyan Black tea, allspice, clove, fennel, cinnamon, licorice root, ginger, black pepper, rose petals. It's a very floral chai whereas I'm used to a chai with more clove but it is excellent. It's very soothing, soft and without any sharpness of spice. It comes with loose tea filters.
Value: $14.99

Tea Spoon- A hand carved, direct-trade Kenyan teaspoon made from olive wood. I love how smooth and irregular this is. It makes it special! I used it to fill my tea filters with loose tea.
Value: $7?

Also included is a drawstring bag from cloth made and dyed in Kenya. It's to hold all your tea goodies.
Acacia Creations Jacaranda Wood Giraffe- I love handmade and hand carved art. I love this giraffe and he is going somewhere prominent in my house. He's too beautiful to hide away. This is handpainted by fair-trade artisans in Kenya.
Value: $15

VERDICT: What an unbelievably gorgeous and well-intended collection of items! The curation of Pumeli is an undeniable recipe for success in my book. This is a gift for lovers of tea and all things mindfully made and fairly traded. Pumeli continues to take my breath away with the thoughtfulness and attention to detail. I absolutely love it. As with all specialty boxes, value-wise Pumeli comes in just above the cost of the box (according to my calculations). My personal opinion is that it's totally worth it.

I cannot recommend this more if you have any interest in tea and handmade items. And what an excellent gift for the coming holidays!

Sign up here for your first box! That will be December if you sign up before the 1st. No coupons available but I think it's worth it for sure.

*This box was sent to me for review purposes. All overly wordy opinions are completely my own.

    1. I think you may be able to because Pumeli has a shop with items from past boxes in it. I didn't see any from this box yet but that could be so the surprise isn't ruined. I would definitely email and see what they say. :)

    2. Isn't the giraffe wonderful? Sarah is right, we haven't posted all of the individual items as we are offering a few of the boxes for a short period of time in the shop. But do feel free to email us and I'm sure we can work something out :-)

    3. That's awesome! I'll be sure to send an email by the end of the week. I just cannot get over how adorable the giraffe is! Although, it doesn't fit in with my decor, I'll find a nice place to display it!
