Snakku is a Japanese snack subscription that sends both premium, hard-to-find snacks as well as some old favorites. This month celebrates Valentine's day and includes chocolates and pink goodies. The information card says that in Japan, Valentine's Day is celebrated with the women giving chocolates to the men! I didn't even know Valentine's Day was celebrated in Japan so that was news to me.
One of the most beautiful parts of the Snakku subscription is the presentation. This is truly a gift and is packed with expertise and care. If you want to give a gift of snacks, there is no better way to spoil a friend of loved one than to send Snakku.
Boxes come wrapped in either a real furoshiki cloth or a paper cloth furoshiki wrap, depending on your subscription length.
The Cost: $38.95/month
What You Get: You will receive a beautifully packaged box of 10 - 15 expertly curated, hand-picked snacks that you can only find in Japan, along with a selection of familiar Japanese snacks. Information describing the snacks and their creators will also be included.
Snakku has also introduced a Tasting Box that is $14.95 and will have 5-7 curated snacks in it. So if you're looking longingly at this box but $38.99 is prohibitive, this is your chance to experience Snakku much more affordably.

Uppercase Box February 2016 YA Book Subscription Box Review
Uppercase Box is curated by Lisa Parkin from ReadBreatheRelax, a blog dedicated to all things YA Literature. Since I'm a big fan of Young Adult books Uppercase Box is hard to resist. What I have been doing is following it on social media and adding all the book suggestions to my TBR on GoodReads. I admit my shelves are overflowing with books, my Kindle has over 300 books on it and my TBR has four hundred or so.
Yeah, I like to read.
So Uppercase Box sends a newly released book along with some bookish items. There's also a way to participate in an online experience related to the reading of said book. That part doesn't really interest me. I'm mainly about the book and the goodies.
The Cost: $29/month ($23 plus $6 shipping)
What You Get: A brand new, hardcover YA book either signed by the author or with a bookplate, 1-2 high quality, exclusive bookish items, reading experience content and a personal hand-written note to you.

Cozy Reader Club February 2016 Inaugural Box Review and $10 Off Coupon!
This is the very first Cozy Reader Club box and if this is anything to go by, the next few months are going to be unlike any book box I've ever received before! Wow!
This subscription goes beyond the typical book subscription by focusing on creating an environment where you can take some time for yourself. Every box will include a brand new book, a beverage of either coffee, tea or hot chocolate, gourmet treats and a handmade item.
When I think of "me" time, I think of wrapping up in fluffy blankets wearing my coziest PJ's with a big mug of tea and a book. I don't think of shopping or a hot bath. No. It always involves being as cuddly as possible with a book in my hand.
Keeping that in mind, this box is basically pure, unalloyed heaven for me. It's all the things I love, want and crave in one place.
The Cost: $64.95/month
What You Get: One newly released women's fiction novel, an artisan coffee, tea or hot chocolate, gourmet treats and beautiful handmade items.

PetGiftBox February 2016 Small Dog Box Review and Coupon Code
PetGiftBox did an amazing job with their February 2016 box! I got a kick out of the theme and how they adhered to it. Since February is the month with Valentine's Day, the theme was "Share the Love" and the box contents were way too fun.
The Cost: $28.99/month-to-month down to $18.99/month if you get a year.
What You Get: A themed box of four to six toys and treats for your pet.

BeautyFix February 2016 Subscription Box Review
BeautyFix by Dermstore is a subscription box that sends beauty and skincare samples along with full size products. The contents tend to veer into the unusual and interesting quite often. At least in my opinion and experience.
It's hard not to like this subscription for the unique skincare but sometimes I'm left underwhelmed by the sizes. BeautyFix does promise full size items and does deliver on the promise but I always will like it better then the full sizes outnumber the samples.
The Cost: $24.99/month
What You Get: Each month, we'll be offering a different BeautyFIX box, featuring full- and travel-size of the latest and greatest products in skin care, hair care and makeup, worth at least $100.

Boxycharm February 2016 "Rush to Relax" Subscription Box Review
Boxycharm is one of the best beauty boxes for makeup that I know of. There is always, always full size makeup in it. It is actually the box that gave me the urge to get rid of all my old crappy stuff from junior high and start anew. This month has one product I'm really interested in using, too. Plus one that I already love.
The Cost: $21/month.
What You Get: Full size and luxury size beauty samples of the best beauty products from popular and chic brands. Anything from nail care and hair products to the top skin care and cosmetics

Clean Bar Box February 2016 Soap Subscription Review and Coupon
Clean Bar Box sends hand crafted, seasonally scented soaps to your door as often as you wish! They offer both monthly and bi-monthly subscriptions which is pretty handy if you can go through this giant bars of soap fast enough. Or you can opt for a smaller box which includes all four monthly soap scents but in half size bars only. I think that might be my favorite idea.
This month the scents pay homage to Valentine's Day!
The Cost: $21.99/month for the Large Box, $16.99/month for the Small. This review is for the Large Box. You can also get boxes bi-monthly.
What You Get: Four new seasonally inspired scents of artisan crafted handmade vegan soap every month. The Large Box sends two ~5 ounce full bars and two ~2.5 ounce half bars of soap every month. The Small Box sends four ~2.5 ounce bars.
Chocolate- What's Valentine's Day without chocolate!? Here's your dose in the form of soap and it definitely smells good enough to eat.
Moonlight and Roses- This is a sweet smelling, rose scented soap. It's a pretty pinky magenta and does smell wonderful.
Lavender- This purple swirl soap is lightly lavender scented. Since I'm allergic, I didn't spend too much time smelling it but it's not over powering.
Red Clover and Tea- This is a fruity scented soap with a hint of tea. It smells great and possibly the most traditionally soapy of the four. Very invigorating.
VERDICT: If you love getting uniquely scented soaps that are made without preservatives, parabens or lauryl sulfates, you'll likely want to take a look at this box. Part of what I love about artisan soap is the scents themselves. You're not going to find chocolate soap in the Target aisle.
While these do contain fragrance and colors, the soaps are vegan, contain no preservatives, animal products, petroleum products, parabens, or lauryl sulfates. They're made with coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter with some other ingredient differences depending on the scent.
If you would like to sign up for Clean Bar Box, you can do that right here. Use code FIRSTBOX for $3 off your first box or use CLEAN15 for 15% off a longer subscription.
*This box was sent complimentary for review purposes. All opinions are mine.

Love with Food Deluxe Box February 2016 Review and Box Offer
Love with Food is the perfect kind of box for those looking to enhance their organic and natural snacking experience. In other words, you're not going to find Cheetos in here but you may find a natural, GMO free version that might taste better. It's not a low calorie box. It's a box that introduces you to a plethora of new snack brands that feature natural, organic and health conscious ingredients.
I've managed to get hooked on quite a few things I've found in Love with Food over the years (yes, years!) which surprised me because I'm not really the type to care about whether my food has a synthetic chemical or a food coloring in it. But just because I don't really care, doesn't mean that I can't appreciate something uber tasty and make a snack swap. Like switching Cheetos for Barbara's Cheese Puffs. Or those Snikiddy ones. Nomnomnom.
The Cost: $19.95/month, $9.99/month for the Tasting Box
What You Get: 16-20 new snacks each month. Snacks are either organic or all-natural, GMO-free, gluten-free or free of artificial junk. (The regular Tasting Box has 8+ snacks)

Birchbox Beauty Sampling Subscription Review February 2016
Birchbox is one of the premiere sampling subscription boxes available. It is regularly considered the pioneer of beauty subscriptions and has over 800,000 subscribers as of last year. That's a lot of boxes! Yesterday, I went out to get my mail at the mailbox and as I passed my neighbors house, I recognized the signature Birchbox outer box on their doorstep. It made me happy that I wasn't the only addict. (Also, typo).
Along with all the goodies in the box, you'll get an information card explaining what you've received and telling you if any of them are bonuses for the month. There is usually a theme but it's pretty vague how the products included actually conform to it. I just ignore that part usually.
The Cost: $10/month
What You Get: Five samples and sometimes full size items, including everything from makeup and skin care to non beauty essentials like candles and tea. Plus a really great points program.

Glossybox February 2016 Subscription Box Review and Coupon
Glossybox is a beauty box subscription that sends full and deluxe sized samples of skincare, haircare and makeup to your door every month. They tend to send higher end brands and feature good quality skincare fairly often. I do think this box focuses more on skincare than makeup, though makeup does regularly feature.
Also, the box this month is adorable. I love it when they do fun designs.
The Cost: $21/month
What You Get: Five luxury deluxe sized beauty essentials, from both well-known and emerging brands, delivered to your door each month.

Fair Ivy February 2016 Thyme Subscription Box Review
Fair Ivy is a gift subscription that sends handmade items from US artisans. Every box arrives beautifully and carefully packed and wrapped. This is an excellent subscription for gifting to someone who appreciates hand-crafted, quality goods produced in the US by a skilled artisan.
There are currently two subscriptions available- Thyme and Rosemary. The way subscriptions work is you sign up for one or both and you'll be shipped a gift package right from the featured artist that month. The two subscriptions send different items but alternate between jewelry and home goods. So this month, Thyme has a home item and Rosemary has jewelry. Next month, Thyme will have jewelry and Rosemary will have a home item. And so on.
The Cost: $36.95/month (includes shipping)
What You Get: A surprise gift hand-picked by gift curators that comes directly from a US artist. Also included will be an info card describing the creation process, background, or inspiration. The gift could be anything from gold or silver jewelry, to artisan ceramic pieces to hand-stamped tea towels.

BeautyDNA Subscription Box February 2016 Review
BeautyDNA is a unique beauty subscription in that it sends only full size products each month. I usually get one to two products in a wide variety of skincare and beauty items. This month I received a product for eyes. I like how they do it, making sure to send a product for a different area of the face or body so you don't get overwhelmed with a certain product type.
When you sign up, you'll fill out a very extensive profile questionnaire regarding your preferences in skin, hair and body care. Everything from the consistency of moisturizers you prefer to whether you are okay with parabens or not. It's pretty fun.
The Cost: $25/month.
What You Get: One (possibly two) full-size products specifically tailored for you from your profile. You'll also receive a card explaining exactly why the product was sent.

TeeBlox February 2016 Hot Meex Licensed Tee Subscription Box and Coupon Code
TeeBlox, in my opinion, is the best part of all those geek and gamer subscription boxes. Part of the reason I like geeky subscriptions so much is because of the t-shirts. Let's be honest, though, some of the other stuff in those boxes are things you'll (or at least I'll) never use and tend to find their way to a trashbin.
This subscription, however, is the barebones goodness. TeeBlox sends licensed tshirts in the category of your choice to your door every month. This review is for the Hot Meex category which means you'll get some of everything. That means Marvel, DC Comics, Games, Movies, Cartoons and more can all arrive adorning my new tshirt. Well, my husband's t-shirt.
The Cost: $9.99/month plus $2.50 shipping
What You Get: One 100% authentic licensed geek and gamer shirt delivered to your door every month. You'll also get two extra goodies that could be posters, comic books, decals and/or stickers.

Allure Beauty Box Review February 2016
I really enjoy my Allure boxes. I look forward to them every month, partly because they take so long to get here, and partly because I'm always interested to see what brands will be included. If I had to choose a box based on brand inclusions alone, I would pick Allure as having the best.
The Cost: $15/month
What You Get: Five or more deluxe-size beauty samples from a curated mix of skin, hair, and makeup products as well as fragrance.

Sweet Organic Box February 2016 Organic Snack Subscription Review
Sweet Organic Box is a new snack subscription that sends only organic snacks and treats each month. You won't find GMO's, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. This might be their very first box, too, so this will give you an idea of what to expect. Based on what I've seen there can be a little variation but not too much.
The Cost: $45/month
What You Get: Every SweetOrganicBox includes 6-10 organic items such as snack, coffee, tea, candy, cookies, and other surprises.

The 3B Box February 2015 Asian Beauty Subscription Review
The 3B Box is an affordable monthly delivery of Asian beauty and cosmetic products. It has been a nice mixture of full and deluxe sample sizes since it's inception. Both popular and excellent but more obscure brands have been featured.
Every shipment comes with an information card explaining what you've received and how to use it. Since many Asian beauty products have no English beyond the name, this is important!
The Cost: $12/month
What You Get: Four to five deluxe size Asian beauty samples from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

OuiPlease Vol 1.6 Subscription Box Review ~ Winter in the Alps
OuiPlease is a subscription box that sends premium products from France every other month. It's a fun and unusual subscription even though it has it's drawbacks. It's fairly expensive but for a unique experience, it's pretty much one of a kind.
OuiPlease is always beautifully presented in a sturdy keepsake box, wrapped in paper and ribbon. I don't really like the black straw they use for padding because it gets black dust all over everything but it's definitely better than nothing.
Every box is accompanied by a glossy mini-mag that describes all the products you'll find in your box and gives information about the creator where applicable. Since these boxes tend to have variations, you'll see all the things you didn't get as well.
The Cost: $150/bi-monthly
What You Get: A unique selection of full sized French products. In addition to all of the hand-selected gifts, your parcel will include the latest issue of our own “OuiPlease” magazine. Explore deliciously simple French recipes, exclusive interviews, style tips, lifestyle pieces, and discover the full range of current products that were distributed across America.

Flaviar Tasting Pack Review January 2016 ~ Fine Spirits Delivered
The Flaviar Tasting Pack is a subscription that sends a flight of premium spirits right to your door. If you live in the right place, of course. Surprisingly, my shipment arrived from Slovenia. I had no idea it was an international subscription but it is and it ships not only to the US but the EU and UK, as well.
Each month, as a Prime Member of Flaviar, you'll receive a Tasting Pack with three carefully chosen mini bottles of fine spirits. If you are unsure if you'd like to be a subscribing member, you can pick up a themed Tasting Flight of five spirits as part of a gift subscription.
We actually had a lot of fun with this! Some friends came over and I broke out the bottles for some tasting. They know I do subscription boxes but they were all surprised that you could get liquor delivered. The theme for the box this month was Whisky Festivity. While you can get any kind of spirit- rum, gin, vodka, scotch, cognac, tequila and bourbon, based on what I've seen whisky is featured pretty often.
The Flaviar box comes with a list of things to do to prepare for a tasting. I didn't go the mystery route but instead lined them all up and poured one of each for everyone. Then we tasted them one by one. Between each sip, I took Flaviar's advice and had water crackers to clear the palate.

Tuesday Tidbits 2/9/16
I took a short break from blogging to get things done around the house and hang out with friends. I got so much done! I cleaned the house from top to bottom. I even steam cleaned the carpets. I worked in my garden for countless hours tidying up and getting ready for Spring. The crocus are blooming! I went on a weekend hiking trip in the snow with friends and stayed in a yurt. I also had a great time with some girlfriends.
I realized that I had been saying "no" to too many opportunities because I needed to write reviews and post deals. I feel so energized now after that break that I'm excited to get back to business!
SUPER BOWL THOUGHTS
So there was the Super Bowl. And the Commercials. And the half time show.
First- Lady Gaga killed it! That was amazing and all I could think of was that she was wasted as a pop singer. Her voice is unreal!
I'm not a huge football fan, I mainly like the parties and get togethers associated with big games. I was really rooting for the Broncos because Payton Manning is probably one of the nicest guys on the planet with a fun sense of humor. And he's retiring. I'm so glad he's able to retire on such a high note.
That Panthers kid, though. What a baby. With an attitude like that, he didn't even deserve to win. He's a good looking guy but not when he's pouting.
If that half-time show wasn't a case of opposite day... What a weird combination of styles. I like Coldplay because I have high school memories when they first came on the scene. I also suppose I'm not surprised he didn't survive a marriage to Gwyneth. *shiver* I wouldn't have either.
I loved Bruno Mars, too. That guy... I like his style and he can sure dance (but not dress...). Plus that one Grenade song of his still gets stuck in my head.
Beyonce I'm not too sure about. I like some of her stuff but not all of it. Single Ladies never ceases to get my feet twitching. But I don't know what song she sang for the Super Bowl even was. I heard later it was racially charged but I didn't look up any lyrics.
And someone please tell me I wasn't the only one who thought Beyonce was huge! And I don't mean fat. Chris Martin looked like a twig next to her! Compared to Bruno Mars, she was a giant amazon woman! Granted he's tiny and Chris is... skinny... normal?
TRAVEL
I'll be in Ireland for about 10 days coming up soon! I'm really excited about it. Since I don't know how much access I will have via computer, you can keep up with my adventures on Instagram if you aren't already following me there. You'll likely get a glimpse of my husband. He's shy when it comes to appearing on the blog and I don't do it without his permission. But you will see some of the friends we are traveling with (along with me and some glorious scenery).
Anyone been to Ireland and know anywhere awesome (and yet not super touristy) that we should go? Any tiny amazing bars we should hit up in Dublin?
I also just booked a trip to New Zealand!! This is one of the things I've always wanted to do (hey, it's where I was conceived! /tmi) and now that there are Lord of the Rings sites to visit, I'm excited! I'm going to Hobbiton, the Glow Worm Caves, the hot springs and whatever else we randomly feel like doing. We got an unbelievable deal from DownUnderAnswers via Groupon for 10 days! Aahh!! Traveling is something I love more than anything and it's been way too long since I've been out of the country. My husband has been sick for quite some time but is doing amazingly well now and he's ready to get out and explore the world! Yay!
BOXES
OuiPlease should be here soon and I'm pretty excited about that. I also signed up for Covet Crate, which had an excellent first box. My fingers are crossed that the next one will be even better. It comes in March.
Oh, and don't forget Box of Style charges on Feb. 15th and starts shipping on March 1st! Get $10 off your first box with this referral link. You can also use the coupon on the Annual subscription which I highly suggest. Once you plug in your email, they'll send the coupon.
Granted he's tiny and Chris is... skinny... normal?

Popsugar Must Have February 2016 Review and Coupon
The Popsugar Must Have box for February 2016 shipped out so quickly I can hardly believe I'm already holding it in my hot little hands! I have to give Popsugar props for making sure we had this in time for Valentine's Day, thats for sure.
This is one of my favorite boxes, though it is one of the more expensive ones. I love getting full size products and I love the variety of items included. This is not a beauty box, this is an "everything" box. Or more technically, I guess it's a "lifestyle" box.
Every box comes with a foldout information card that explains everything you'll be receiving along with designating any bonus items that are included. I think it's one of the best info cards out there because it also lists the websites where you can discover more about the product and gives the values for what you're getting.
The Cost: $39.95/month
What You Get: Five luxury deluxe sized beauty essentials, from both well-known and emerging brands, delivered to your door each month.
Tilo Heart Print Scarf- I am so glad that this is gray! I wouldn't like it as much or find it as useable if it had been pink or red. Instead this is a perfect accessory to all my black and gray outfit goodness. Although... Hm. Hearts. Maybe I'll have to think about that. I'm not really a big fan of hearts. It's exclusive to Popsugar so if you see someone on the street with this, make sure you run over screaming and ask if they're a subscription box addict too. Haha!
Value: $125 (wait... really?!)
Beauty Counter Nourishing Cleansing Balm- I'm not a super fan of cleansing balms, I tend to stick to the straight up oils but I'm going to try this one. The ingredients are decent although if you have sensitive or acne prone skin, you may want to skip it- Cosdna analyzed it as having six acne trigger ingredients (2/5 score). The $80 price tag for a full size is a little hefty considering you can pick up a Banila Co. Clean It Zero Purity (with far fewer trigger ingredients) for about $20.
If you've never used an oil cleanser before, this is a perfect way to start. It also comes with a muslin cloth and a plastic spreader/scoop thing.
Value: $50
Fringe Studio "Hello Beautiful" Square Tray- So cute! I got the anchor one from the PSLE in a swap and it's so cute. This one is square which I think I like better. I'm not sure what I'll use it for. I almost feel like I need to hang it up like people do their plates or something. Just so I can see it all the time.
For perspective, here it is with the ring.
Value: $14
Victoria's Secret Coconut Milk Hydrating Body Lotion- I'm not a big fan of body lotions. I always feel like they're too greasy, take too long to sink in or just don't do any good. You can laugh but I actually use my face creams on my legs, etc. I have a billion of them and I might as well use them. The ingredients are always better anyway. Nonetheless, it's fun seeing Victoria's Secret in this box. I don't recommend them for fittings or bras if you're more than a C cup but that doesn't mean they don't have cute PJ's.
Value: $18
Victoria's Secret Sport Socks- I can't find these exact ones on their site, though they do have socks. These have the band around the middle so your sock doesn't slip around while running. I don't run much to the sadness of some of my friends who would love a running partner. Part of me wishes I liked it but the rest of me is glad because it's pretty hard on your body.
These are cute and I'll totally wear them. I only have a few with the band around the middle and they're my boot socks. I'll have to experiment and see how they do in the gym. Not that any of my other socks slip around but whatever. Socks. And I love socks.
Victoria's Secret $20 Gift Card- This is pretty sweet. I like gift cards with no strings. Well, this one does have a little string-- It must be used by March 31st but other than that? Free as a bird!
Both the socks and this gift card are considered Extras and are not counted toward the value of the box.
Foodstirs Heart Cookie Mix- Foodstirs is actually a baking subscription box that I can't really recommend. It's not worth the $30. Getting one in a Popsugar box is way more fun anyway! I think this is half size from the regular version, too. I'll totally make them but it's not a subscription I would ever go for because of the consistent and obscenely low value.
Apparently this is cofounded with Sarah Michelle Gellar but if I was her, I'd run far away from this idea.
Value: $12.95
JewelryStorm Endless Arrow Ring- I have discovered a love for arrow rings. I currently am loving and wearing the House of Harlow 1960 Arrow Ring from Rocksbox. This one is not nearly as sturdy and nice but it's cute. Too bad it's gold. I don't really wear a lot of gold.
It's adjustable and mine arrived as a size 5 with the arrow and fletching pressed close together. You can pull it apart with some muscle. I like the hammered band, it adds character. Maybe I should wear gold...
Value: $28
VERDICT: This was a great box for me! I never expect to love everything in a box but this one turned out to have a majority of items I will put to good use . One of the wonderful things about Popsugar is that if there is something I don't like, it is eminently giftable. It's one of the reasons Popsugar is always of value to me. Not to mention the fact that I've become hooked on certain things I've received over the years. I love fun surprises and Popsugar is *always* a good surprise for me. I get a little giddy when I see it on my porch.
If you would like to sign up for Popsugar Must Have, you can do that here. Get $5 off your first month with code REFER5 or MUSTHAVE5. I believe this February box is sold out but you can check the small box that says something about getting the previous box if possible. It doesn't always happen but it can! It will tell you when you sign up which box will be your first so keep an eye out.
Did you love this box? What was your favorite or least favorite item? My favorite was the Hello Beautiful tray and my least favorite was the body lotion.
