The 3B Box February 2015 Asian Beauty Subscription Review

The 3B Box is an affordable monthly delivery of Asian beauty and cosmetic products. It has been a nice mixture of full and deluxe sample sizes since it's inception. Both popular and excellent but more obscure brands have been featured.
Every shipment comes with an information card explaining what you've received and how to use it. Since many Asian beauty products have no English beyond the name, this is important!

The Cost: $12/month

What You Get: Four to five deluxe size Asian beauty samples from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

Benton Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream- This is part of Bentons Snail Bee line and while I love their Essence and think all skin types could use it, I don't feel that's the case with this one. It's a heavier moisturizer and I think oily skin types may not like it as much as I do with my dry skin. It's got snail mucin and bee venom in it, which is fun. I love the moisturization properties of snail. If you're allergic to bees, you probably want to skip this.
It's fun to see but I wish the sample was a little bigger.
Leaders Pore-Scaling Black Aqua Sheet Mask- Sheet masks are always fun and Leaders is an excellent brand. I actually have a few of this exact mask from Memebox but I haven't tried them yet. I was thinking of getting my husband to use them because he hates his huge pores.
Lioele Eyelash Curler- An eyelash curler. Generic.
Etude House Look At My Eyes Cafe Eyeshadow- This is where my bias really shows. This is a fine eyeshadow but I'm all about skincare so it's kinda meh for me. However, I know there are makeup lovers who will be happy to test this part of the Etude House line. :)

VERDICT: I have to admit that this box is a complete disappointment to me. I never want to see a product I can get at my local drugstore in a subscription box like this. Eyelash curlers are the same wherever you go. It's especially lackluster compared to some of the last few months boxes. If this had been my first box as a subscriber, I would have been horrified and cancelled immediately.

I still think this is a fun intro-to-kbeauty box and the price is right for anyone wanting to get a little dose of Asian goodies each month. Obviously someone who has a closet full of kbeauty probably won't be interested but for $12 it's worth trying.

Sign up at I think there is a waiting list and you won't get this months box and probably not March's either but you never know. They've been moving people off faster and faster each month.

  1. I'm not sure if you saw my comment last week on last month's 3b review, but I said that since this is my first month, it's my fault if it's "meh"... That's just my luck, sorry!!

I'm excited to try the Benton (bigger would be awesome as you said though) and like masks plus I don't mind the eyelash curler actually... But the eyeshadow is not for me.

    1. Did you get the same color eyeshadow? I was curious if there were any variations. I'm glad you'll get use out of the curler, though. I think it's the curse of too many subscriptions that makes me turn up my nose. ;)

  2. uh oh :( Let's hope this is just a little hiccup for them because I'm usually pretty pleased with what I see in this subscription. I had to cancel pretty much all of my subs unless they were paid for ahead of time, and this was one that unfortunately got cut. I'm not too bummed out about it now that I'm seeing this, but maybe they'll take the feedback from this month and learn for the future!

    1. Are you getting ready to move to Korea?! You've been having a lot of life changes all in a rush, haven't you? I hope you're doing okay. (And yes, I consider cancelling subscriptions a life change-- Hah!).

  3. Uggg I'm not excited about the eyelash curler :(

    1. I'm totally with you. While I like getting tools in my other subscriptions, with this one, I really appreciate the focus on Asian skincare and a little fun makeup. Not tools :*( But some of these last months have been stellar so it makes up for it a little.
