Allure Beauty Box March 2016 Review and Coupon

The Allure Beauty Box is my favorite low cost subscription box. I always feel it’s worth the price paid and I love the brand inclusions, as well. This month has more makeup than usual and it’s also a hair heavy, as well. With seven items total, I’m not complaining! I’m going to use everything in the box so, for me, it’s a good one! Again. 🙂

The Cost: $15/month.

What You Get: Five deluxe-size beauty samples from a curated mix of skin, hair, and makeup products as well as fragrance.

DP Hue ACV– This is a vinegar based hair rinse. I’m assuming it’s like a clarifying rinse but without all the gunky crap you’ll find in a regular one. I’ve been on a rinse binge trying to get leftover pink out of my hair so I’ll be using this. And I’m never dying my hair pink again unless it’s ends I can cut off. Sheesh. Pink is killer!

Nunzio Saviano Anti-Frizz Hair Sheets– How weird is this?! These are soaked sheets for taming frizz. Just wipe down your hair. They have coconut oil in them. I have really fine hair so I might have to try these. I do tend to have flyaways because of my layers. I’ve never even heard of something like this before so that’s kinda fun. 🙂
Macadamia Professional Ultra Rich Moisture Cleansing Conditioner– For the longest time, I’ve hated getting hair products. Since bleaching then dying my hair pink and purple, my whole outlook has changed. Bleach worked a number on my hair and I’m still trying to make up for it. Currently I’ve been using and loving Briogeo Avocado Cleaning Conditioner but I’m almost out. This will go right in the shower for use. I’ve heard only good things about this brand so I’m anxious to see how my hair likes it.

Makeup Forever HD MicroFinish Powder– This is a loose, translucent finishing powder and it’s one of the best I’ve ever used. It gives such a perfect silky finish to my skin and makeup and it doesn’t settle in my fine lines like other, heavier ones have done. If you’re curious, try and get your hands on a sample.  I love it.
Julep Konjac Face Cleansing Sponge– I don’t usually use sponges or wash cloths on my face. I figure my AHA does the job along with my Wild Naturals Honey Cleanser. I got a sponge similar to this in a different box and it’s amazing how soft they are. They feel pretty good but I’m lazy. This one is tempting because it has charcoal powder in it and my face freaking LOVES charcoal. I swear by the Origins Charcoal Face Mask. My skin is radiant after every use. So the charcoal in this sponge makes it more tempting…

Cargo Blush/Bronzer Duo– The blush is Catalina and the Bronzer is Medium. Both colors are pretty but in a container this small, I’m guessing they’ll end up on the brush mixed together. I like both so we’ll see how it goes. I don’t have a ton of experience with this brand so this will be a test.

L’Oreal Pro Last Infallible Lip Color– I received the color Teaberry but I’m not sure if there were others available. I believe this is a Special Extra since it’s not mentioned specifically in the information card. One side is a doefoot applicator and the other is a twist up balm. Apply the color, wait til it’s dry (two minutes, it says) then apply the balm to seal in your color for up to 24 hours. Sounds good to me! I applied mine but didn’t wait two minutes and the color is so pretty (totally me) and the balm makes my lips soft but also matte feeling. So moisturized yet dry. If that makes any sense. There is zero stickiness, in other words. So far so good. Oh, and very little appeared on my mug of tea after a sip. I think if I’d waited the two minutes and let it dry then applied the balm, there would have been no lipstick stain at all. Experiments are in order!

VERDICT: This month’s box only solidifies my enjoyment of my Allure Beauty Box subscription. It really is one of the best for the price. I like it better than Birchbox or Ipsy (sacrilege, I know!) but it’s true.

If you would like to sign up for the Allure Beauty Box and you are a first time customer, you can use this link to sign up and get $5 off your first box. That offer link is from the Allure website and it appears to be the only way to get a discount. I hunted around for others but that’s the only working one I know of.
