Covet Crate Lady Boss Lifestyle Subscription Box March 2016 Review and Coupon Code

Covet Crate is a fairly new lifestyle subscription that I’ve been admiring the last two months. The premise for the box is to empower, motivate and inspire women in their careers and everyday lives. While I don’t go into the office every day but I am always up for a little inspiration and the fun products included in past boxes inspired me to subscribe (see what I did there?).

The goal of the curators is not just to provide tangible things but also experiences so there will occasionally be things like discounts for online courses. That’s not why I like the box, though. I like it because it has style accessories, office decor, beauty products and whatever else they think will be fun. And so far, their idea of fun and mine coincide beautifully.

The theme this month is “Style Me Successful” and includes a short motivational story of Audrey Hepburn’s life and an interview with a fashion stylist and blogger.

The Cost: $84.95/month for the Lady Boss; $49.99/month for the Girl Boss

What You Get:  Items include things such as: office supplies and accessories, stationery, office decor, style accessories, beauty and skincare items, office snacks, books, discounts (on things such as business/life coaching, classes, etc.), and anything else that may empower, motivate, inspire, and encourage you!

Cocoono Envelope Clutch– The fabric used is beige and ivory faux leather along with latte alcantara. The inside is finished with a polka dot lining and has a small zip pocket. This is a good sized clutch and could easily fit a pad of notepaper. I also like the magnetic press button closure. There’s also a strap inside the bag so you can wear this over your shoulder if you wish.

The only downside is the smell which I’m guessing is a by product of the polyurethane in the alcantara. It needs some airing out for sure. It’s handmade in Poland which is kind of awesome.
Value: $33

31Bits The Collector Bracelet– If you were wondering how to spend your 31Bits gift card that you received in your FabFitFun box, I’d suggest this bracelet for sure. I’m not a huge fan of gold but I love this! These are handmade in Uganda and the beads are made of recycled paper and coated in a varnish. You’d never know these were paper! It’s on elastic and is about 8″ around so it’s sizeable for just about everyone. I am really happy with this. It’s close to being my favorite thing in the box!
Value: $14

Zoya Nail Polish in Brittany Satin Finish– This is an opaque bottle of rose mauve polish. I really like the color. It’s subtle yet girly. I don’t know how I feel about the wierd glossyish, matte formula. I think I like it better with a glossy topcoat but that’s just how I like my nails to look. The formula is great, easy to apply, opaque in one coat (if the coat isn’t too thin) but it’s better at preventing chips with two coats.
Value: $10

Reckless Crush Raw Brass Adjustable Flower Ring– This has an adjustable fit which makes it a nice inclusion. I’m not a big fan of brass, though, since it turns green. I don’t know why anyone would even want jewelry made of brass because of that. Still, this is dainty and pretty. I like it, I just wish it was coated in something to prevent tarnishing. I wonder what it would be to get it rhodium plated.
Value: $7

My Lovely Seasons Blanket Scarf in Pink/Gray/White– This is a huuuuge scarf! 54″x54″! It’s almost as tall as I am! It’s made of acrylic and cotton and is very soft. It smelled strange when I first opened it up but I think that was from the clutch. It smells totally fine now after having been out of the box a few days. It’s colors I love, too. I’m not quite sure how I will work it. I’m so short it seems like it might overwhelm me. I’ll see what I can do, though.
Value: $36.80

Type Couture Valentino Peonies– I *love* this!! I love pink. I love the watercolor style. I love the heaviness of the print and I cannot wait to find the perfect frame for it! It’s a great 8×10 size, too. This is going up in my office for sure! I wish it was signed, though. The information book says that it should be signed but mine is not. :*( There are so many other things in this shop that I want now…
Value: $17.50

VERDICT: I was so happy as I opened up this Covet Crate and discovered each thing in it. I had no idea what to expect so the whole box was a surprise. And a lovely one, at that. Once the envelope clutch airs out, I’m totally using it. The 31Bits bracelet is perfect and I love the print by TypeCouture, as well. The only things I’m on the fence about would be the ring and the scarf but I’m hoping I can get the scarf to work for me. If anything I suppose I could see how it works as a backdrop. Hah! It’s gigaaantic! Though the price tag on this box is high, I’m subscribed for another box (which is currently sold out) because the contents are so new and unusual.

If you would like to sign up for this box, you need to go to their website and sign up for emails. The sign up is waaay down at the bottom on the right. Once subscriptions for May open up, you’ll receive an email and you should sign up right away. If you’re on Facebook, they update their page if they have extra boxes for the month, too. Aprils theme is “Working on my Fitness” and will have a Kate Spade 16 oz. glass water bottle with silicon sleeve (BPA, phthalate- and lead-free, and no plastic smell or taste) and Rume’s lightweight carry-all bag! Both the Lady Boss and Girl Boss boxes will have these two items although I think the Lady Boss has a bigger Rume tote.

When you sign up, use code BITSANDBOXES15 for 15% off your first box!

What do you think of this box? For me, I think the curator definitely has my style! I don’t know that I would subscribe long term at the price but I might swap to the Girl Boss box. We’ll see.
