Cozy Reader Club March 2016 Book Subscription Box Review and Coupon Code

Cozy Reader Club is one of my new favorite boxes. Everything sent is themed around giving you the best reading experience possible. Since I *love* reading, this is basically the most perfect thing for me ever.

This is a book subscription with a varied selection of books provided. Most book subscriptions right now tend to send YA books (which I love) but CRC has sent more adult books so far. I’m totally okay with that, I’ll read pretty much anything except horror and most bodice rippers. But it also makes for a nice box for those who aren’t into YA and wish there was a more eclectic box.

The Cost: $64.95/month

What You Get: One newly released women’s fiction novel, an artisan coffee, tea or hot chocolate, gourmet treats and beautiful handmade items.

Try Not to Breathe by Holly Seddon– This book is about a troubled young journalist finding purpose again after taking on a 15 year old cold case involving a girl whose been in a coma these long years after a horrific attack.

Some secrets never die. They’re just locked away.
Alex Dale is lost. Destructive habits have cost her a marriage and a journalism career. All she has left is her routine: a morning run until her body aches, then a few hours of forgettable work before the past grabs hold and drags her down. Every day is treading water, every night is drowning. Until Alex discovers Amy Stevenson. Amy Stevenson, who was just another girl from a nearby town until the day she was found unconscious after a merciless assault. Amy Stevenson, who has been in a coma for fifteen years, forgotten by the world. Amy Stevenson, who, unbeknownst to her doctors, remains locked inside her body, conscious but paralyzed, reliving the past.
Soon Alex’s routine includes visiting hours at the hospital, then interviews with the original suspects in the attack. But what starts as a reporter’s story becomes a personal obsession. How do you solve a crime when the only witness lived but cannot tell the tale? Unable to tear herself away from her attempt to uncover the unspeakable truth, Alex realizes she’s not just chasing a story—she’s seeking salvation.

Value: $17.77 (on Amazon)

Treehouse Chocolate Co Drinking Chocolate- This stuff is the BEST! I’ve had it before from a few subscription boxes but only the CAMP flavor which is basically a mocha. I *love* it and was looking to buy more but it’s pretty expensive. CRC sent three flavors includin Camp, Original and Nectar. I cannot wait to try Nectar because it’s chocolate coconut! Original is plain dark chocolate which is my favorite kind of chocolate.
Value: $9 ($3 ea)

Viveltre Marshmallows in Madagascar Vanilla Hearts– SO good! All natural, no artificial flavoring, color or chemical preservatives. These were so good, I’ve already eaten them all. Plain. Not even in my chocolate. They were nice and flat and have the sort of crackly exterior I love. SO good. I’m thinking of signing up for the subscription box they have that I discovered while hunting their site. Just for fun… 😀
Value: $7
Bridge Nine Candle Company Ginger Peach Jelly Jar- This is a 4oz handpoured soy candle with a cotton wick. It smells wonderfully like peaches and ginger. Very fresh and invigorating. The lid is super cute with a flower cut out so you can smell it even when it’s not burning.
Value: $12

Warmer Style Fingerless Gloves in Red– These are knit on the outside and soft fleece on the inside. They’re perfectly sized and have been doing a great job of keeping my hands and fingers warm while I’ve been writing up reviews. Sometimes my hands get so cold my fingertips turn blue. I think it’s because of Raynaud’s syndrome but I’m not positive. I’m going to keep these on my desk.

The gloves came wrapped up in butcher paper and yarn which I thought was so cute. I love it when things come individually wrapped.
Value: $14

VERDICT: I think Cozy Reader Club does a fantastic job with adhering to the goal of the box. This is not just a book box but a book experience and I absolutely love it. My favorite thing in the world is to curl up with a blanket, a mug of tea or hot chocolate, a treat of some kind and dig in to the book I’m reading. So while this is expensive for a book subscription, they’re also providing a lot more than other boxes. Plus, I’ll be frank and say that CRC provides more useful items also. This box is perfect for me.

If you would like to sign up for Cozy Reader Club, you can do that here. Use code COZYREADER for $10 off your subscription for life! That eases the cost a little bit which is nice. The value this month is $60 which is about $5 than the price paid. If you use the coupon, that’s an acceptable price. Book boxes are never amazing deals but they are a lot of fun. If you use the regular price of the hardbound book ($26) instead of the Amazon price, it comes out a little higher than price paid. In any case it’s still a wonderful box experience, at least for me!
