Treats April 2016 Snack Subscription Box Review and Coupon

Treats is a snack subscription that sends snacks based on a specific country or region each month. Treats Box has two boxes to choose from. This review is for the Premium Box and contains 8-10 snacks a month. The Standard Box has 4-5 snacks in each box. Shipping is free within the US. International shipping is available but an extra charge will apply depending on the country.

This month, the treats are from Brazil! There’s always a variety of salty and sweet, which I appreciate since I tend to be a more of a savory snacker than a chocolate one.

The Cost: $13.95/month for Standard, $25.95/month for Premium

What You Get: Either 4-8 or 8-12 fun treats and snacks from around the world.  Each month’s box will feature snacks from a different country in the world.

Fabitos Pipoca Vovozinha– These are so weird! It’s almost like eating styrofoam peanuts but sweet. I didn’t care for them mostly because the texture was so bizarre.

Yoki Yokitos Conchinhas Assado– This tasted just like smoked ham. SO strange! I thought maybe I liked them but then it just got too “ham” and I decided I didn’t.

Renata Aqua e Sal– Brazilian saltines, I suppose. I’m not sure that saltines are a very interesting snack to add to a box but it’s nice there’s a whole package. If you like saltines (I do).

Nestle Passatempo in Chocolate– Cookies with chocolate creme filling and an animal photo printed on top.

Garoto Baton Branco– This is a bar of white chocolate. I’m not a big fan of white chocolate so I passed on trying it.

Baninha Paraibuna Cremosa– This is… well… awful. It’s mooshed banana with sugar and the texture is… euch! Can’t do it even though I do like bananas.

Lacta Sonho de Valsa Bonbons– These have a cashew creme filling covered by wafer and then in chocolate. The chocolate isn’t very good but I did like the filling.

Garoto Serenata de Amor Easter Egg– I have to admit I was a bit taken aback to see an Easter treat in a box shipped four weeks later. It’s a very large chocolate egg with a candy inside. It arrived broken but that doesn’t bother me.

VERDICT: This was not my favorite Treats box because it’s very chocolate heavy and I freely admit that I like savory, salty, crunchy snacks over chocolate ones any day.  It’s fun and interesting to get a taste of treats and snacks from other countries, though. Treats chooses a different place every month and does a good job of providing variety between shipments. One of the things I originally loved about this was subscription was the inclusion of multiples and full sizes. I hope they add more!
