Try the World Snack Box Review May 2016 plus Coupon Code

Try the World is mostly known for their monthly and bi-monthly boxes featuring carefully selected products that are most representative of a specific country's cuisine. Now, however, they also have a new and wonderful Snack Box! The Snack Box is stuffed with five specialty food products from five different countries. Sounds fun, right? It is!
These are not sample sizes either. They're good sized products with plenty of snacking delight included.

The Cost: $15/month

What You Get: Five specialty food products from five different countries, delivered monthly.

PetGiftBox May 2016 Small Dog Review and Half Off Offer

PetGiftBox is a subscription box for dogs and cats. This review is for the Petite Pup Box which is for dogs up to 20lbs. There are also Mid-Size and Hefty Hound boxes for larger dogs. I find that the Petite Pup box is perfect for my 20lb rat terriers. Treat sizes are great and the toy sizes tend to be pretty spot on. I think if you have a dog under 10lbs, it probably won't work as well for you.

The theme this month is Basic Training and all the products have a military theme.

The Cost: $28.99/month

What You Get: A themed box of four to six toys and treats for your pet.

Snakku Premium Japanese Snack Subscription Review May 2016 and Coupon Code

Snakku is a Japanese snack subscription that is unlike any other snack box I've received. Snakku sends gourmet snacks from specialty shops in Japan. The majority of the snacks arrive directly from Japan and can be from family owned businesses using local products from snack recipes that have been around for generations.
There are now two options when choosing a Snakku box! You can get the regular Snakku box with ten to fifteen of the best and most authentic Japanese snacks you can get or you can get the Tasting Box. The Tasting Box is smaller and has 5-7 tasty snacks in it. There's a box for every budget and I'm really happy about that. This review is for the regular Snakku box.
When the box arrives, it comes wrapped in a traditional Japanese Furoshiki wrapping cloth if you get a subscription of 3-months or longer. Month to month subscribers still get their box wrapped but with a paper furoshiki. It's still feels like cloth and I've kept all of mine.

The Cost: $38.95/month for the Snakku Box. $15.95/month for the Tasting Box

What You Get: Get a collection of 10-15 hand-picked snacks that you can only find in Japan,
along with a selection of familiar & delicious Japanese snacks delivered every month.

Chococurb Mini Specialty Chocolate Subscription May 2016 Review

Chococurb is a supremely perfect specialty chocolate subscription. This is a subscription that I find makes a fantastic gift, especially for mothers that love chocolate. Like mine does. I gave her a box for her birthday and she called me later saying it was some of the best chocolate she'd ever had.
For the summer, your chocolate comes wrapped in cooling envelopes with a small ice pack. My chocolate arrived perfectly even though it had been quite hot in the mailbox for some time.

There are two sizes of Chococurb boxes. One is the regular Chococurb subscription that has 5-7 different chocolate products in it and the other is the gift subscription Chococurb Mini with 3 chocolate goodies. This review is for the Mini version.

The Cost: Mini- $20/month, Regular: $35/month

What You Get: Mini- An assortment of 3 specialty chocolates, Regular- An assortment of 5 to 7 chocolates or chocolate related items. These items can come from small, local chocolatiers to more established, national brands.

Eatsiebox Customizable Snack Subscription May 2016 Review and Giveaway!

Eatsiebox might be my new favorite thing! Once you sign up, you have options to customize the kinds of snacks you receive. Don't want anything spicy? Uncheck that box. That would be me. I'm also super excited because Eatsiebox is allowing me to host a giveaway! One lucky person will win a free box or if you are already a subscriber, you'll win a "one of everything" box! Sounds like fun to me!
Every box is will be a little different because we all might choose different likes and dislikes. If you don't choose, and leave the checkboxes as they are, you'll get all categories except spicy and pet treats.

The Cost: $27/month

What You Get: All The Things! Each Eatsiebox is unique to you and typically contains between 7 and 12 items, including full-size, snack-size, and sample-size items. A full-size box will contain between 1.5 and 3 POUNDS of snacks. (That's a lot of snacks!)

Glossybox May 2016 Beauty Box Review and Coupon Code

The May 2016 Glossybox really surprised me! It felt like it had so much good stuff in it. I wasn't expecting it either. Or rather, I thought I'd already got it earlier in the month but I guess not since here it is. My brain is a little fried by lack of sleep, staying up with my little dog who had surgery.
Glossybox does send interesting skincare and beauty products, I have to admit. It's a little superfluous at the moment and I do cancel it over the Allure Beauty Box at times but when there's a deal, I always snag one. I think I got a 6 month subscription where the boxes ended up being around $12 each. That's totally worth it!

The Cost: $21/month

What You Get: Five luxury deluxe sized beauty essentials, from both well-known and emerging brands, delivered to your door each month.

Cocktail Courier by ShakeStir "Paloma Diabla" Cocktail Subscription Review plus Coupon code

Ever wish fantastic cocktails would show up on your doorstep? Your dreams just came true with Cocktail Courier! This is a subscription by ShakeStir that sends everything you need to make a tasty drink concocted by some of the worlds best bartenders. That includes the alcohol!

How do they get these interesting recipes, you wonder? Well, ShakeStir is an online community of professional bartenders who offer up their creations and exchange ideas. Each month, they choose a winning recipes to be added to Cocktail Courier's cocktail list. This means that you'll find innovative, seasonal and brilliant new drinks to get hooked on.
This review is for the "Paloma Diabla" which is a tequila drink. When you sign up for Cocktail Courier, you'll be able to specify which types of spirits you would like. You will also designate how often you want to receive a box. Why get only one a month when you can get one a week!? Truly, though, they send enough for a LOT of drinks.

The Cost: $39.99/month (or week)

What You Get: Each box is carefully packaged with all necessary ingredients (including garnish and alcohol) for 4-12 absolutely delicious cocktails, accompanied by printed step-by-step instructions on how to make each drink.

My box arrived by stealth. I thought I was going to have to sign for it but apparently the mailman knows me well enough. *cough* I do get a lot of boxes. Poor guy.

Anyway, it was perfect timing because we were about to head out to a party at a friends so I decided to bring it along.

OwlCrate Book Subscription Review May 2016 "Steampunk" plus Coupon Code

One thing I have to say about OwlCrate is that they send FANTASTIC books. The curators have some pretty great taste in Young Adult fare. I've been so pleasantly surprised by so many YA books and authors, it's been a wonderful way to flesh out my to-be-read (TBR) list. I think it's nearly 500 books long at this point.

OwlCrate not only sends a recently released, hardbound YA book but also includes what I suppose is considered "fangirl" material. These include things with famous book quote prints, bits of jewelry that fit the theme for the month and anything special that would make a book lover happy.

The Cost: $36.98/month to the US (OwlCrate also ships within Canada and Internationally).

What You Get: Every crate comes equipped with a top notch, newly released YA novel alone with lots of goodies geared towards bookworms. Goodies consist of jewelry, bookmarks, stickers, prints, toys, accessories, and all sorts of wonderful randomness!

Trendy Butler May 2016 Menswear Subscription Review and Coupon

If you're looking for a menswear subscription, Trendy Butler sends monthly shipments of clothing from socks to joggers and jackets. When you sign up, you'll be asked about your style and preferences. This is a fun subscription and I've been happy with the quality of what we've received. When I first subscribed, the brands were all new to me, and now I'm a little more familiar with what gets sent, I see the same ones pretty regularly. I don't know if that's because of my husbands preferences or his size.

My husband is tall and athletic. He's 6'1" and around 187 pounds. He's very broad shouldered and muscular so it can be hard to find clothing via subscription that fits properly. Shirts tend to be difficult because either the sleeves aren't long enough or aren't wide enough through the shoulders or chest. This issue eliminates a lot of what TB has to offer, especially button ups unless they're huge. The problem with huge, as muscular, athletic men probably already know, is that if it's wide enough in the chest, it's a swimming pool around the waist. Fit is difficult!

If you are slim and lean, though, this subscription was made for you. You'll likely fit right in to everything. Maybe it goes without saying but fit, average body types tend to do the best with mystery clothing subscriptions. If you're on the short side, the big and tall side or you know you have a body feature that you have trouble dressing yourself, a clothing subscription is not the answer. Trust me.

If none of that applies to you, read on!

The Cost: $65/month

What You Get: One to three high, quality stylish menswear items worth at least $150 from well known and up-and-coming brands.

Cozy Reader Club May 2016 Review and Coupon Code

Cozy Reader Club is all about providing you with a newly released novel and all the things you need to be comfy while reading it! This subscription goes beyond the typical book subscription by focusing on creating an environment where you can take some time for yourself. Every box includes a brand new book, a beverage of either coffee, tea or hot chocolate, gourmet treats and a handmade item. Heaaaaven!
So far all the books included have been hardbound women's novels. There's been a really great variety and the books have been released sometime within the last month. I love that because it means there is a much smaller chance of getting something I've already read.

The Cost: $64.95/month

What You Get: One newly released women's fiction novel, an artisan coffee, tea or hot chocolate, gourmet treats and beautiful handmade items.

The Bride Box May 2016 Review and Coupon Code

The Bride Box is for girls who are excited about the process of being a bride, planning a wedding and getting married. While all of that was quite awhile ago for me (okay, 7 years), it doesn't mean that I can't get excited for the few around me who have not yet found "the one."
Past boxes have consisted of wedding themed clothing, knickknacks, bachelorette party favors, do-it-yourself projects, wedding favor ideas, etc. There's really a lot that can go on when you're getting married and if you're planning a big shindig, a box like this would be very fun.

The Cost: $35/month

What You Get:  A box filled with surprise bridal gifts such as beauty products, handmade items, DIY projects, and more.

Buddhibox Yoga Lifestyle Subscription May 2016 Review and Coupon

Buddhibox is designed to encourage and invigorate your yoga lifestyle. Each box contains items to enrich your life, body, mind and soul. BuddhiBox is committed to sending ethically sourced, cruelty-free products created with intention. They work only with organizations and businesses that follow ethical and eco-conscious practices. BuddhiBox also strives to send organic and vegetarian items when at all possible.

The Cost: $32.95/month

What You Get: Each month, delivered straight to your mailbox, you will receive a mix of 4-6 samples and full size products all dedicated to pure and mindful living.

Sephora Play! Beauty Box Review May 2016 Unboxing

The Sephora Play! subscription has been around since December, I think, but it was only debuted in certain cities. It recently opened up to those who were waitlisted and you bet I subscribed! I mean, it's Sephora! I figured their brand clout would get some pretty great goodies in boxes every month.
The theme for the month is Forces of Nature and involves natural beauty and skincare products. They don't seem super big on the mystery of it all since the contents are revealed fairly early on. Inside the box, everything arrived in a cotten drawstring bag with "Let's Beauty Together" on it. I'm not sure if it's the same every month or what. I'll find out!

The Cost: $10/month

What You Get: A collection of five deluxe samples plus a fragrance in a cute bag, delivered monthly.

Vet Trips Aren't Fun (And Neither is Surgery)

I've been quiet on the blog lately. This past ten days has been sort of a waking nightmare for our little family. You've probably heard me mention that our dogs are our kids and the way we dote on them, they really might as well be! Right  now, I can only imagine how horrible sickness is for a regular mama. If I'm this stressed out about my dog, my fear for my own offspring would be off the charts!
Dexter is a 6 year old blue rat terrier and he's my very first dog. When Walker and I got married, we decided once we got a house with a yard, we would get a dog. So we did. On the day we moved in, I brought home a tiny puppy the size of a potato.
He turned out to be incredibly smart, potty trained completely in ten days, perfectly obedient during training courses and a little ball of cuddly love. He still follows me everywhere and wants to be on my lap when at all possible.

I never knew I could love anything so much! Growing up we had no pets because my mom hated dogs and my dad was allergic to cats. But I've always loved animals so I was ridiculously happy when Walker said we needed a dog.

Enjoy Leggings Subscription Review and 50% Off Coupon Code

This subscription was a new one for me! It's called Enjoy Leggings and you get a new pair of leggings every month! I've recently become obsessed with leggings. I never used to wear them except for those days in the late 80's when they were called "stretch pants" and were worn with oversize sweatshirts or tshirts with one side caught up in a knot. Remember that? I have some pretty awful pictures from back in the day.

Anyway! Enjoy Leggings sends a stylish and cute pair of leggings for a really reasonable price. You choose your size and then sit back and wait. There isn't a profile system except for size because they send one style of legging to everyone. Sizes start at 2-4 (Small) and go to 14-18 (Plus).

The Cost: $16/month.

What You Get: One fashionable and fun pair of quality leggings every month.

Something Snacks May 2016 Snack Subscription Review and Coupon

I like snack boxes that aren't altogether healthy and Something Snacks delivers. Every box has a little bit of everything and is kind of like a snack grab bag. The theme for the month was Fruit and Chocolate. Nothing wrong with either of those things!

The Cost: $13/month

What You Get: Each box will contain 7 new and tasty, hand selected snacks.  You can expect something familiar and something more out of the ordinary.

RawSpiceBar April 2016 Parsi Spice Blend Shipment Review and Coupon

RawSpiceBar sends freshly toasted and ground spices along with recipes to your door every month. You'll also receive recipes incorporating them into tasty meals. I've had a lot of fun experimenting in the kitchen with the blends I've received. We've eaten all sorts of interesting things that we never would have had otherwise.

This month features spices used in Parsi cuisine. Parsis settled on India's western coast from Iran centuries ago and brought with them cooking traditions involving rich stews and sweet-sour flavors. My husband is a huge fan on Indian cuisine of all kinds whereas I'm a lot more tentative.

The Cost: $6/month

What You Get: Three spice pouches, which are enough to create 3 individual dishes serving 4-6 people. The total amount of spices will typically weigh between 1-1.5 ounces each month.

Treats International Snack Box Review May 2016 plus Coupon Code

Treats is a subscription that sends snacks based on a specific country or region each month.  Treats has two types of boxes, the Standard Pack and the Premium Pack. The Standard Pack contains 4 to 6 international snacks, and the Premium Pack contains 8 to 12 international snacks. This review is for the larger Premium Pack.
The theme this month is Sweden! I tried a few of these already and kind of got addicted to one of them. You'll notice several products are made by Cloetta. This is a confectionary company started in Denmark by three Swiss brothers way back in the 1800's. In 1872 they opened the first chocolate factory in Sweden. In 1901, moved it's manufactory to Ljung, Sweden and it's been there ever since! From there, it's pure candy goodness including several of the sweets sent in this box. They now make some of the most popular candies in the world.

The Cost: $13.95/month for Standard, $25.95/month for Premium

What You Get: Either 4-8 or 8-12 fun treats and snacks from around the world.  Each month's box will feature snacks from a different country in the world.

Clean Bar Box May 2016 Soap Subscription Review and Coupon Code

Clean Bar Box is a soap subscription that sends gloriously scented bars right to your door every month. You'll never run out! The big bars are huge and the little bars pack a punch. The best part is how amazing they smell. They choose seasonally appropriate scents so you'll always soap up in style.
This subscription has a variety of box sizes to choose from so you can get the perfect amount for just yourself or you family. The soaps are vegan, contain no preservatives, animal products, petroleum products, parabens, or lauryl sulfates. They're made with coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter with some other ingredient differences depending on the scent.

The Cost: $21.99/month for the Large Box, $16.99/month for the Half-Bar Sampler. This review is for the Large Box. You can also get a box bi-monthly.

What You Get: Four new seasonally inspired scents of artisan crafted handmade vegan soap every month. The Large Box sends two ~5 ounce full bars and two ~2.5 ounce half bars of soap every month. The Half-Bar Sampler sends four ~2.5 ounce bars.

Popsugar MustHave May 2016 Review and Coupon Code

The May 2016 Popsugar Must Have box was fairly heavy when I picked it up off the porch. I wasn't expecting it and I almost let it slip through my fingers. As it turned out, it wouldn't have mattered because nothing was breakable, or if it was, it was packed well. Plus it was all cushioned by a large blue yoga mat by Gaiam!

This box focuses on beauty, style, fitness and food, so you get a little of everything in each box. Even home items! I like it that way. It's funny because when they don't have a food item, I get a little sad. This box did have food although it wasn't nearly as unhealthy as I was hoping for.

The Cost: $39.95/month.

What You Get: Full size, premium products in Home, Fashion, Fitness, Beauty and Food categories!

Covet Crate Girl Boss May 2016 Review, Coupon and Subscription Updates

Covet Crate is a fun lifestyle subscription dedicated to all the hardworking women out there.  And you know that's pretty much all of us! With a special emphasis on a professional worklife, this box is a great gift to oneself. I know this because that's what I did.
This particular box is the Girl Boss Box. There are two versions, this is the smaller one. The larger box is the Lady Boss box and is about twice the price. This May version is the last monthly box and subsequent boxes will be bi-monthly. So if you sign up now, you'll receive the July 2016 box.

BeautyDNA Subscription Box Review and BOGO Coupon

BeautyDNA is a unique subscription that sends full size, quality products each month based solely on your extensive profile answers. Is that a mouthful? Basically, you fill out an intense set of questions regarding your skin, hair and body care preferences and then you receive products that fulfill as many of your requests and desires as possible. It's actually pretty awesome.
This month I was matched with two items. I got a "bonus" and I'm not sure why but I'm glad! It might be because this is my six month mark. Anyway, I got one skin product and one body product. BeautyDNA tries to send a rotating mix of products so you don't get two facial moisturizers in a row or something like that. So you'll switch between skin, hair and body for the most part.

The Cost: $25/month.

What You Get: One (possibly two) full-size products specifically tailored for you from your profile. You'll also receive a card explaining exactly why the product was sent.

Birchbox Beauty Box May 2016 Review and Coupon Code

Birchbox is definitely beauty box to consider if you're looking for something affordable and fun. It's considered the first of the beauty box subscriptions and has been around for quite awhile. You'll receive samples of products ranging from beauty and haircare to teas and chocolates. There's always a little bit of everything involved.
Birchbox also has an excellent points program that allows you to get discounts on your favorite full size products. Their shop is huge and has a ton of stuff from home goods, mens products, beauty and skincare and accessories. So much good stuff!

The Cost: $10/month

What You Get: Five samples and sometimes full size items, including everything from makeup and skin care to non beauty essentials like candles and tea. Plus a really great points program.

Rachel Zoe Box of Style Summer 2016 Spoilers, $10 Coupon Code plus Twitter Poll Results

box of style spoilers rachel zoe
I'm ridiculously excited for the Box of Style to start shipping. I'm hoping against hope that it arrives before I leave for vacation so I can use everything inside while I'm gone.

This box has quickly become one of my favorites. It ships only quarterly so there's always a long wait in between. It's definitely boho-themed because this is Rachel Zoe but I've really enjoyed every box. If I don't use something, it makes a great gift. It's hard to top that Miansai cuff in the first box, though, lets be honest.

Oh, did you see on Twitter she was running a poll about what we want in the Fall 2016 box? Here's what she suggested and here's what people voted for:
What would you have voted for?

The Cost: $100/quarter

What You Get: At least five products worth over $300 in fashion, beauty and lifestyle carefully curated by Rachel Zoe and her team.
