Cozy Reader Club May 2016 Review and Coupon Code

Cozy Reader Club is all about providing you with a newly released novel and all the things you need to be comfy while reading it! This subscription goes beyond the typical book subscription by focusing on creating an environment where you can take some time for yourself. Every box includes a brand new book, a beverage of either coffee, tea or hot chocolate, gourmet treats and a handmade item. Heaaaaven!
So far all the books included have been hardbound women's novels. There's been a really great variety and the books have been released sometime within the last month. I love that because it means there is a much smaller chance of getting something I've already read.

The Cost: $64.95/month

What You Get: One newly released women's fiction novel, an artisan coffee, tea or hot chocolate, gourmet treats and beautiful handmade items.

Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld- Since I'm a big fan of Pride and Prejudice, I was excited to see this book included this month. I'm nervous because it could go either way for me. I feel like I'll either love it but separately from Pride and Prejudice or I'll hate it as a bastardization of a true work of art. I won't know until I read it!

This version of the Bennet family—and Mr. Darcy—is one that you have and haven’t met before: Liz is a magazine writer in her late thirties who, like her yoga instructor older sister, Jane, lives in New York City. When their father has a health scare, they return to their childhood home in Cincinnati to help—and discover that the sprawling Tudor they grew up in is crumbling and the family is in disarray.

Youngest sisters Kitty and Lydia are too busy with their CrossFit workouts and Paleo diets to get jobs. Mary, the middle sister, is earning her third online master’s degree and barely leaves her room, except for those mysterious Tuesday-night outings she won’t discuss. And Mrs. Bennet has one thing on her mind: how to marry off her daughters, especially as Jane’s fortieth birthday fast approaches.

Enter Chip Bingley, a handsome new-in-town doctor who recently appeared on the juggernaut reality TV dating show Eligible. At a Fourth of July barbecue, Chip takes an immediate interest in Jane, but Chip’s friend neurosurgeon Fitzwilliam Darcy reveals himself to Liz to be much less charming...

Value: $28 on the jacket ($15.60 on Amazon)

Sarah Welch Pottery Stoneware Travel Mug- This is a handmade stonewar travel cut with a silicone lid and sleeve. I love the blue green colors. It's very heavy and holds 24oz. And guess what?! Microwave and dishwasher safe! Now that's what I like! Plus the fact that it's huge. I drink huge amounts of tea.
Value: $34
Cocomels Sea Salt- Oh, my. These are... absolutely delicious! Cocomels are made with 100% natural ingredients and organic sweeteners. They're made with coconut milk and yeah, so good. SO good.
Value: $5

Herkimer Coffee Columbia Selecto 3- This is a Seattle craft roaster that's gaining quite a bit of buzz. This particular coffee has high acidity, medium body and a cherry cola flavor profile. I have no idea what most of that means but there's no denying that Herkimer does good coffee.
Value: $9
Yarn Lovin' Mug Cozy- A hand knit, acrylic coffee cozy. I don't usually use these because I use giant Starbucks mugs (the old ones with city/country names on them) and they have handles. However, depending on stonewares heat conducting abilities, I might need this. Plus it's cute. Who am I kidding? I won't use this and if I do, it'll get lost in an instant. :(
Value: $10.95

VERDICT: While this isn't my favorite Cozy Reader Club box to date, they do a great job of providing the complete reading experience. You know how people like to eat popcorn while watching a movie? I like to eat tasty candies while reading. So this box knows me. I'm actually pretty excited to use the stoneware mug because it holds so much AND it has a lid. My other drinkware doesn't have lids and I've discovered lids are very useful, to my own detriment. Apparently I learn by spilling. Anyway, I'm hoping one of these days there will be a good YA novel. Just because they're YA doesn't mean they aren't awesome, womanly and/or novellish. However, I do get that there's a million YA book boxes out there. The book choices for Cozy Reader Club does set it apart which many people would probably enjoy.

If you would like to sign up for CRC, you can do that here. Use code SAVEFIVE to get $5 off your first box.
